Perfect
This stay far exceeded my expectations! First off, the owner was incredibly warm and thoughtful, offering us a free upgrade to a larger room upon check-in, which was a delightful surprise. The guesthouse's decor is very tastefully done in a new Chinese style, making it incredibly elegant. Every corner shows meticulous attention to detail. Most importantly, the room facilities are brand new and spotless. The bedding was comfortable, and the bathroom's wet and dry separation was excellent. I highly recommend this place to anyone who values quality and unique charm!

A gem of a 民宿 located within the Datong old city walls. Conveniently located next to a plethora of good eats including 喜晋道 and the ever popular 霸王茶姬，the friendly yet non-intrusive service staff provided excellent service throughout of 4 day stay. Engaging their 商务车 for 2 days to explore around Datong was a great decision as the staff service extended to having hot beverages, biscuits and fruits ready for us coming in from the cold weather. The same service extends to breakfast for which a spread of home cooked dishes are made fresh daily. A great stay and highly recommended.

We were warmly greeted by friendly staff upon arrival, making us feel welcome right away. The check-in process was quick and smooth, and the team went the extra mile to help us register on their app as we are foreigners, ensuring we could easily access Wi-Fi and contact them if needed. We had called ahead to request a humidifier and air purifier, and were pleased to find them already prepared in our room when we checked in. The room itself was spacious, impeccably clean, and very comfortable. The shower had excellent water pressure, and the inclusion of an electric toilet with a heated seat was a thoughtful touch, especially during the winter season. Throughout our stay, every staff member we encountered was genuinely helpful and sincere in their service, always making sure we were well taken care of. We initially planned to stay from 6/12/24 to 8/12/24 but felt so at home that we decided to extend our stay for an additional two days. A big thank you to the team at Mecure Hotel for their exceptional service and attention to detail. Me and my Husband had agreed this is best hotel in our 17 days China trip. We had a fantastic stay and look forward to returning in the future. Great job!

Fantastic Datong Stay! This hotel was a gem! From the start, the experience was warm, kicking off with complimentary noodles and coffee—a lovely welcome treat. The staff is exceptional. Even without speaking Chinese, their warm attention was constant. A huge thank you to Rachel and her colleagues! They were an absolute A-Plus for English speakers and flawlessly handled booking my local bus to the Xuankong Temple and Yungang Grottoes. Truly lifesavers! The location is perfect, being just minutes away and easily walkable to both Datong Old Town and the magnificent City Walls. For convenience, there are plenty of local restaurants and a handy convenience store right nearby. The room itself was spacious, spotlessly clean, and refreshingly smoke-free, and the bed was very comfortable. It was great that we could slightly open the window to manage the heat and humidity. (Just a small note: I do prefer a standard showerhead to the rain shower, but that's minor!)

I booked two rooms for 4, and we were given rooms beside each other. We arrived late at night around 9.30pm and check in went smoothly. Rooms were very comfortable and were equipped with SMART tech with voice activation! We were also able to check out a little later upon request since our train left later in the afternoon. I also had packages delivered to the reception and had no issues. Location was great and easy to explore the ancient city and also to see the main wall itself. One thing to note is that there isn't a formal drop off point but you can definitely get dropped off and picked up along the side of the road. The room layout was slightly different than the images on Trip.com (I booked a Double bedroom with courtyard view with a stay voucher), but the room was good too although I would have preferred the toilet configuration in the photos. Overall, a great place to stay and I'd definitely stay here again if I get to come back to Datong. They also have a bakery at the lobby and it gets sold out pretty quickly!

The hotel was well located. The room exactly like it was described online. We reserved two rooms without windows for one day it was cost efficient! Unfortunately I could not reserve directly 4 breakfast online only two (one per room), we have to pay directly at breakfast for the two others one. We stop at Datong to visited one of UNESCO site and see the all Datong city. We thought more foreigners will visit this beautiful small city. No one speaks English (and that’s ok) but for a 4 stars hotel the front desk lady looks a bit lost with the check in procedure for foreigners (and I work in a 5 stars hotel in beijing so I know the procedure as a French working in China). Also, the isolation is bad, the front desk already inform us upon check in but we did not thought we will heard even the other room bathrooms flush. Thank you for this night your hotel is beautiful

Our stay was very pleasant. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the city center was easy to reach by bus. The team was very welcoming and responsive to our wishes. The hotel gym was also relatively well equipped. We can definitely recommend it.

Great location, very convenient for getting into the city. The parking lot has EV charging stations. The room size was good and accurately advertised. However, the windows in the scenic view room were quite dirty, which was a shame. Plenty of dining options nearby, and the service at Laoda Tong Restaurant on the first floor was excellent.
