The rating might not look great, so let’s clear that one up first. A truly beautiful, manicured property, from the golf course to the restaurants to the rooms. An elegant building with a great lobby, lounge and bar, not to mention Marigold, by Jean-George. The rooms are large and very comfy. A truly beautiful place from which to explore the history of the region. So why the 3*? Management feels there is no need to have coffee machines in the rooms. You wake, walk out on your terrace and then have to get dressed to go up to the coffee shop to buy a coffee to take to your room. It was a pleasure talking with Margaret, but coffee should be in the room at these prices! The other thing is the Spa. They have a steam room. I have 2 at home as they are very good for my chest. But they won’t let you use it, despite explaining the reason behind my request unless you spend a few hundred bucks in the Spa. You spend a grand a day or more, but no coffee and no steam. Really. Go to any 5* and you’ll get that. So 2 *s knocked of for that
