Edinburgh Hotels with Kitchens

"I just wanted to follow up regarding the situation we encountered when we arrived. We had booked three double rooms for two nights so that our group could stay together. Unfortunately, we were informed at check-in that one of the rooms had no electricity and couldn’t be used, and one of our friends had to be moved to a different hotel. We completely understand that unexpected issues can sometimes happen. However, since we specifically booked three rooms in the same hotel so our group could stay together, having one of us placed somewhere else has been quite inconvenient for us and has made it more difficult to coordinate our plans during the trip. In addition, the hotel that was arranged for our friend was unfortunately of a much lower standard than the one we originally booked. This was quite surprising for us, especially since we had chosen and paid for your hotel expecting a certain level of comfort and experience for everyone in our group. While we appreciate that your staff tried to find a solution at the time, the overall arrangement has left us feeling rather disappointed with the situation. We hope you can understand why this has been frustrating for our group, and we would really appreciate it if you could let us know whether there is anything that can be done to help make up for the inconvenience caused. Thank you for your time and understanding"

"Kick Ass Greyfriars is absolutely spotless one of the cleanest hostels I’ve stayed in! I felt completely safe throughout my stay. The bathrooms were well-kept and fresh, and the reception desk staff were so nice and welcoming. Would definitely recommend! Solo or with friends & family book without doubt. ."

"Room was quite small but very thoughtfully laid out. Bed was extremely comfortable and the amenities were good quality - Molton Brown toiletries, GHD hairdryer and Nespresso coffee machine. The complimentary drink at 5pm was a nice touch. The only downside was the lack of breakfast in the hotel itself. However, we had a good discounted breakfast at The Huxley and a 50% discount at Castle Terrace car park."

"The location of this hotel is just on the border of the city centre, so it feels a lot quieter compared to right on the High Street. My room was a windowless Queen Room, with plenty of storage space for 2 people.  I quite like the design of the room, where 1 side of the room is the washing facilities. Unfortunately, the night when I stayed, there were many loud door slamming during the night.  I've got woken up many times. I had the breakfast downstairs at around 9:30am, and it closes at 10am.  The hot food was very dry, so probably been sitting around for some time.  If I stay here again, I would go elsewhere for breakfast."

"We stayed there for one night. The building is actually a student dormitory used by the university and it was under construction. Room was clean however felt a bit cramped. Breakfast was okay, didn’t have various options."

"Definitely worth the slight awkwardness of crawling into capsule-pod from foot end for greater privacy (curtain, individual light, useful narrow shelf) and quieter night's sleep, and the bathroom has adequate facilities – toilet, two each of basins and well-designed shower cubicles – for up to eight (two four-bed rooms): a bargain in comparison with usual central Edinburgh prices… and, if not using the well-equipped kitchen, the back entrance to a Wetherspoon pub is next door, barely a dozen steps away!"

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Stayed at Stewart by Heeton Concept for 2 days and I would absolutely love to come back in the future! The apartment was spotless — no dust, no bed bugs, fresh clean bedsheets, and a tidy washroom. Everything was well-maintained and made for a really comfortable stay. It truly felt like a great place to relax and unwind. The only two things I’d mention as areas for improvement: the check-out time of 10:30 AM felt a little early, and a few basic toiletry amenities like toothpaste, a toothbrush, and slippers were missing. Everything else was provided and well-stocked. Overall a fantastic stay and highly recommended. Will definitely be returning! 😊"

"It is a nice place for us Backpackers to crash in for a few days. 30mins walking distance to the hike to Arthur's Seat, very close to a nice park in the front. The staff are friendly and there are Nintendo Switch, guitar, book, magazines etc in the common room. Fun place!"

"The location is fantastic, right on the Royal Mile in the heart of the Old Town. The facilities are a bit old-fashioned, but the staff are very friendly. Be aware that the reception can be a bit tricky to find, as it's directly across the street from the actual rooms. Considering it's a hostel, it offers pretty good value for money."

"Another night staying at this hostel. We stayed in a six-person female dorm. Except that the drainage is quite bad at the shower room, and the bunk bed is noisy when i move, everything is good and clean. A good choice for budget traveller!"
