Hilton Kuching

Kuching|1.03km from Islamic Museum
My recent stay at the Hilton Hotel Kuching was marked by its exceptional location and some notable features. Firstly, the hotel's strategic location near the waterfront and within walking distance of various attractions, including eateries, souvenir shops, and the famous ”kek lapis Sarawak” outlets, greatly enhanced my stay. This convenience was a definite plus. Upon my arrival at 4:00 pm, I encountered a small setback as the hotel was fully booked, and no rooms were available for check-in. However, the courteous staff at the reception counter promptly addressed the issue. They kindly requested a short wait while a room was prepared for me, and I was offered a welcoming drink at the lobby bar during this time. The lobby itself exuded a pleasant ambiance with ample lighting. I finally checked in at around 5.30 pm. The room I eventually occupied was delightful, offering cleanliness and orderliness. It appeared to have been recently renovated, as there was a faint smell of paint. A suggestion for the hotel could be to introduce pleasant room fragrances to alleviate this issue. The room featured a picturesque view of the Sarawak River, enhancing my experience. The bathroom was also clean and satisfactory. The breakfast options at the hotel were extensive, though I noticed a repetition in the menu during my 4-day stay. On the final day of my stay, I opted to have breakfast at a nearby kopitiam due to this repetition. I hope the hotel can introduce more variety into their breakfast selections. However, there were a few downsides to my stay. The hotel was undergoing renovations, resulting in limited room availability. Additionally, the gym was on the smaller side, and there was no sauna during my stay due to the renovations. Furthermore, only two elevators were operational for guests, which occasionally caused delays. Despite these minor inconveniences, the Hilton Hotel Kuching offers a fantastic location, comfortable rooms, and a courteous staff. Special mentions go to reception staff members Petros and Ivan, who were friendly, and Liz, who was particularly helpful and warm during breakfast service.

Looks 4 stars from outside and the lobby but the rooms do need an overhaul and thorough wipe-down. Booked a suite and it was huge but space not utilised properly and had odd corners and mismatched (ugly/dated, more like). Alot of dust on overhead shelves so if you flick dustballs scatter and fall like large snowflakes only they are grey and fuzzy. carpet was so stained i automatically uttered: omg somebody was murdered here when i entered and got scolding from family. But for the pricepoint, there really shouldnt be complaints. it is quite cheap - even considering kuching prices. oh the kitchen was dark but the fact that there even was a kitchen at this price shd be a huge consolation - even if the freezer was mouldy and there was a layer of water collecting. But other than these physical attributes, service was pretty good. counter staff were polite and accommodating. no breakfast included in price but it is very cheap. even that we didnt have bfast there cos the restaurant looked a bit sad with no customers eating there. Location-wise - its convenient, near shopping mall and the new pedestrian bridge over kuching river. and just a short distance from the river promenade. Oh, stayed during the mooncake festival fiesta which was located within walking distance - 2 blocks down road so was a very convenient stay. Beds were comfortable and surprisingly clean so that's all that mattered at the end of the day. We were comfortable after all said.

On November 5, 08, I was in Kuching and asked my friends where I lived there was better and it was more convenient to eat. He recommended this place to me. This is the first time I heard the name of the hotel and I felt quite good. Arrived in the lobby, the decoration was good, there were a few old photos of Kujin, and some wooden artwork. The room is 212, 280 per night. Seeing the room scared me, like a pigsty, the ceiling is still leaking, smelly and dirty, the pillow is so black, the waiter said this is the standard room. This is the standard room in Kuching or Sarawak? Even if I don't want money, I won't live in this room, so I asked for a room change, the waiter asked me to return the room card first, how can there be such a thing, we spend money to buy the service! They gave me room 112, the hotels in Kuching were full, and I had no choice but to stay for one night. The room was ok, the room card was broken, and there was no electricity. I used the room card in room 212 to insert it before calling, so I decided to keep the card. The next day things were worse. A waiter named Yanti at the front desk called me at 6:30 in the morning and asked me to return the room card. At 6:30, comrades, this is when I slept the most soundly. I asked her to come up and pick it up, and after I came, I asked me when I would check out. When I check out, what is the matter with you, and then she took the room card away. I called the front desk and asked to see the manager, and the front desk hung up the phone. I called again, and she told me that the duty manager called Pn Hanariah, Isn't the so-called duty manager supposed to be on call? What a broken hotel this is! I think the style of the hotel is the same as that of Sarawak. People who have been to Sarawak, you know. Resolutely not recommend to anyone!

The room is very clean and comfortable. The premium room is very huge. Bathroom also very bright. but the shower without door make it floor easily to get split and wet. Great location. Access to a lot of places. Kuching Esplanade is just in front of the hotel. You can find nice food on foot. It is just that most shops close very early Friendly staff as they will smile whenever you walk past them. Choose the river view if you want to have a nice view like mine but this means that it will be noisy at times, especially at night. The only bad thing about my room is the toilet flashing system is not strong. Breakfast was ok but very simple. It will be good if they can provide buffet style.

Want to share my brother's experience staying in this hotel with others. He was sent to this hotel for quarantine. Upon arrival to the hotel, no one was there to assist on luggage but it is acceptable as the hotel was probably short on staff or due to covid safety measures. Corridors towards the hotel room was very dark and the walls along the way was chipping off (guess no maintenance was done to the hotel), upon entering the hotel room, a strong cigarette smell covered the entire room Bathroom was dirty, room was obviously not clean thoroughly before, towels was dirty, bedsheets was dirty, air con in the room was leaking and You can even smell someone smoking in the room next to you! What's worst is that the air con wasn't working in the middle of the night. When called the receptionist to complain instead of sending their maintenance staff, they asked to switch off the aircon for few minutes before switching it on again. I have just One question, shouldn't a hotel that is listed as a quarantine center prioritize cleanliness? What's worst is that this hotel cannot accept criticism. We posted a comment in their facebook page regarding these issues, instead of improving their services, they sent their staff up to my brother's room & threatened him to delete the comment on facebook. Is this how you run a hotel? Threaten hotel guests for leaving a negative comment?

The right choice for a budget and decent room price. Strategic hotel area close to the city center/ dining/ Shopping Mall. The condition of the room is a bit dark and the furniture is old. The entire guesthouse is at a satisfactory level.
