Hotels in Panlong District, Kunming

The hotel is in the city, so the room isn't huge, but I love the color scheme. The little tag on the mineral water bottle was a nice touch. I really enjoyed just relaxing in the room, drinking coffee, and reading a book. In the evening, I went to the 6th floor for a workout and was pleasantly surprised by the hotel's lighting decor – it was really photogenic! I spent half an hour taking pictures and picked one I liked to show off.

I had high hopes since the hotel was newly opened, but only the entrance and reception were beautiful. The pool, gym, and in-house restaurants were all very ordinary, with no particularly stunning areas. I made a reservation at the Japanese restaurant and went, but the food wasn't good. I gave a low rating for customer service because when I asked the concierge to make a reservation or inquired about luggage transportation, I received no clear answers and was told to arrange everything myself. I understand they might not want to take responsibility, but then what's the point of having a concierge? I questioned whether this was acceptable customer service for a Grand Hyatt brand. Even if they couldn't make arrangements or reservations for me, there are many things they *could* do, like providing information or suggesting alternatives. To simply say, 'We can't do it, so look it up and arrange it yourself,' felt like a lack of responsibility towards their job. It was truly disappointing.

The hotel is conveniently located near the main road, and the front desk is on Level 2. Just like many other hotels in China, they allow early check-in, which is one of my favorite things 😊. However, if you plan to visit Nanping Street, you'll need to book a Didi, as it is not within walking distance.

Sometimes you have to wait 10 minutes for hot water to appear.. So if you hurry up - it’s not comfortable.. Firstly I even thought what this place don’t have hot water at all. + Near the subway station

This is the most thoughtful hotel I've ever stayed in. The front desk staff are all incredibly friendly and always smiling, especially one gentleman who was exceptionally kind, like the hotel's mascot. The hotel was also very considerate; it happened to be my child's birthday that day, and they even knocked on our door after we checked in to deliver a small gift. Downstairs, you can freely take complimentary bottled water, makeup remover wipes, and there's also free coffee, tea, and more. For just over 200 yuan, we received service that even a five-star hotel couldn't match.

This hotel truly lives up to its reputation as a must-stay in Kunming for 2026; the experience was excellent. The hotel is located within a park, and you'll need their shuttle bus to get inside. If you walk, it's about a 5-minute stroll – not too long, not too short. On the first floor, there's a restaurant that serves breakfast, Western lunch, and transforms into a bar in the evening. They also offer complimentary late-night snacks, including sweet and savory congee. I highly recommend booking a room with breakfast included; it was the most extensive breakfast I had during my entire Yunnan trip. There was a wide variety of options, including freshly made rice noodles, Western pastries, Chinese dim sum, fruits, coffee, milk, yogurt, and even soda. Just past the restaurant, there's a small gym with dumbbells and a compact power rack, which is generally sufficient for a good workout. It's quite convenient for guests who want to stay active. Further inside, you'll find the linen room and laundry room, equipped with two washing machines and two dryers. The room itself was quite spacious, and the furnishings were relatively new and clean, providing a very pleasant experience. The only minor drawback is the limited desk space, which can make it a bit cluttered if you have a lot of items, making them less convenient to access. On the bright side, the Wi-Fi speed in the room was excellent, with no noticeable lag or buffering. The hotel also maintains strict control over external visitors. You need your room card to access your floor in the elevator, and external guests are required to register, which is a good security measure. I didn't order any takeout myself, but I saw other reviews mentioning that deliveries can be brought up to the room, striking a good balance between safety and convenience. On the day I checked out, the staff kindly helped me take my luggage to the park entrance, which saved me a lot of time. I'm very grateful for their assistance.

This hotel was the best one during our entire Yunnan trip. The room wasn't huge, but it was very well-designed and matched the price perfectly. One thing that was really important for me as a mom was that there was no carpet in the room. The staff were incredibly enthusiastic and responsible; you could tell they operate with high standards. The lifeguard was constantly patrolling around the pool, and the front desk staff were also very attentive. The gym's front desk person was responsible and proactive. After my 8-year-old son went for a swim, he went to the men's changing room by himself to shower. When I went to the front desk to ask, I realized the exit for the men's changing room wasn't in the direction we entered the pool area. I was a bit worried, and a staff member immediately went to find my son for me. When they saw me fumbling to help my son change, they quickly took his swimsuit to spin-dry it and pack it up for us. When we were leaving, the concierge, who was quite far away, actually jogged over to help us with our luggage.

The room was great, a bathtub room with a private balcony. It was perfect for taking photos and very Instagrammable! The greenery was lovely, and enjoying afternoon tea on the terrace with friends was delightful. Front desk staff Xiao Chen and Xiao Li were excellent, I must commend them. Their service during check-in was fantastic. It was a very comfortable stay. I'll definitely come back next time.

Facilities: The hotel is right next to the Expo Park, and there is an exclusive door for entry, which is very convenient. Hygiene: It is cleaned very well, no problem. Environment: In the forest, you can choose to eat breakfast on the terrace, which is unique. Service: The response is timely. Sister Li at the front desk upgraded the room type and felt a better atmosphere. Brother Jinshun's service is also very friendly and timely. It can be said that you are responsive to every request, and I really thank you. Friends who want to stay should pay attention. If you like quietness, try to avoid the time when there are private rooms or birthdays, because there will inevitably be noise from music. The hotel also tries to coordinate and it will be quiet at about nine o'clock. At the same time, I hope to add a baby chair next time I go, so that it will be more convenient to eat.

Facilities: This is a very new hotel. The rooms even have wireless chargers, and the self-service laundry is super convenient. It's just a shame there's no rain shower. Environment: It's extremely close to the subway station, and it's also convenient to walk to Hang Lung Plaza for shopping (but you'll still need a taxi for sightseeing, as many attractions in Kunming are far from the subway, I don't know why it's designed like that...). Breakfast: The variety isn't huge, but it offers both Western and Chinese options, and the taste is good. Finally, I have to say, Atour's pillows really are great for sleeping on. I didn't sleep well in Lijiang the past few days, but on my first night at the Atour Light, I practically glued myself to the bed and fell right asleep!
