Anonymous UserThis trip was a last-minute decision. I booked the hotel after 1 AM and was pleasantly surprised after landing and checking in. As someone who pays close attention to hotel details, especially since Kunming is always just a layover during my trips to Yunnan, I have to say Papman is truly amazing. First, the service: I received a fresh flower basket upon check-in, and the hotel butler was incredibly attentive, responding promptly to all my requests. They even sent a freshly made cake for our wedding anniversary, which was delicious and high-quality. Second, the room amenities: The vanity had a full box of soft facial tissues, makeup remover wipes, mouthwash, and laundry detergent. There was a Dyson hairdryer, and the shower had a dry/wet separation with push-button controls. Third, the hotel's decor: Every step revealed a beautiful view, and there were multiple tea rooms available for guests to use for free. The rooftop on the third floor offered spectacular photo opportunities. Walking around the hotel at night, I was delighted to see the shadow of a deer cast by the镂空灯 (镂空灯 - 'cut-out' or 'pierced' lamps). Fourth, the food: We received complimentary afternoon tea with tasty desserts, and the late-night snack selection was extensive, including rice noodles, fried potatoes, 'bao jiang' tofu, and grilled skewers. The salted peanuts, especially the Yunnan 'xiaohua' black peanuts, were excellent; I immediately asked if I could buy a can to take home. All in all, I'll definitely choose this place again on my next visit to Kunming!

Ben CubbageHands down the best hotel in the Kunming KMG airport area. You must stay here! I am a huge fan!
I live in China and travel through KMG airport often for layovers and have stayed at the Ji Hotel right inside the airport. That hotel is okay (and has the location advantage of being right inside the terminal) but feels very stuffy and many of the rooms have no windows.
In many ways that hotel isa broom closet compared tithe DoubleTree 🌳 🌳.
The DoubleTree by Hilton blows that Ji Hotel (and most others in the KMG area) out of the water💦!
For an extra 10 minute private van ride, the upgrade in conditions is significant and well worthwhile.
The lobby is beautiful and the breakfast is a true 5 star masterpiece that has LOTS of options for both western and Chinese tourists, including made to order egg station, made to order noodle station, and an incredible fresh salad 🥗 bar with high quality ingredients (very hard to find in China 😜).
The service staff is top notch with great English at check in and very helpful all the way through. The hotel is brand new and everything is sparkling clean. The elevator is very fast and modern and the furnishings are all tasteful and elegant!
There are so many free extras that make this an incredible value:
-Free Private shuttle in brand new Buick 🚐 van
-Free hand baked chocolate chip cookie on check in
-2 free bowls of local Yunnan noodles delivered to your room for you
-Free Puer tea tasting

LjiangThe rooms have a lovely Southeast Asian style, and the hot springs are great too. It's perfect for a family trip with kids and seniors, and it's close to Kunming Station. There's a buffet inside, so you can spend the whole day there without even needing to go out. The soundproofing is good, and the service is excellent – warm and polite.

Guest UserTo start with: it's been a long time since I've had such a satisfying experience.
**Facilities**: This is a hot spring resort that's well-maintained despite its age. Villa 10 is perfectly situated, and the facilities are in excellent condition – not a single sliding door was out of order or stuck, which is quite impressive. However, it would be even better if the front door locks were upgraded.
**Cleanliness**: Very clean, very satisfied.
**Environment**: I walked all around the resort grounds; the scenery is beautiful. Beyond the expansive lake views, there's also a hidden gem of a pond with bald cypress trees.
**Service**: Absolutely more than five points, more than five stars – truly perfect. The golf carts were available on call, and the turndown service was meticulous. A special thanks to Ms. Yang at the front desk for helping to coordinate our departure transfer, adding another wonderful touch to our trip.
**Afternoon Tea Experience**: The taste was exquisite; I even worried I might never find such delicious pastries elsewhere again.
**Airport Transfer Service**: The transfer car was good, and the driver was skilled and provided thoughtful service.
**Outdoor Garden Hot Spring Experience**: The hot springs were great. The bathing area even thoughtfully provided a stool for seniors, though the lighting in the changing area was really too dim to see the locker numbers.
**Food**: The food was also good. I really liked the mushroom and radish dish at dinner, and the roasted duck was unique. The breakfast rice noodles were outstanding! And the gulls loved the birdseed provided for them too.

ZhubagongzimianIf I'm looking to relax by Dianchi Lake again, I'd definitely consider InterContinental. The hotel is very close to Dianchi Lake, and you can walk to Haigeng Dam to watch the sunset, which gives it a real vacation vibe – perfect if you're planning fewer city excursions. The evening ceremony was quite interesting, especially since it was drizzling the night we watched, which added a lovely atmosphere! However, during the ceremony, there were many children running on the wooden bridge, which wasn't ideal for those of us watching from the lobby bar. Perhaps they could consider roping off the area during the ceremony? Also, the drinks at the lobby bar were quite mediocre. Can they really not afford a proper bartender?
Facilities: Generally meets 5-star hotel standards. Although it's an older property, the room facilities are well-maintained. A downside was the pool changing rooms, which were quite basic and not cleaned promptly.
Hygene: Very good, the room was clean and tidy.
Ambiance: The hotel's public areas are relatively small for a resort hotel, but the plant arrangements are lovely, and there are many name tags to identify the trees. However, the numerous shops inside do detract from the brand's premium feel.
Service: The shuttle service was efficient, and the staff were warm and welcoming, making for a comfortable stay.
Another point of criticism is the breakfast restaurant. Both the variety and quality were not up to the InterContinental standard, nor did they match the hotel's resort positioning. After all, a delicious breakfast is what makes you want to return.
Furthermore, at the two noodle stations, the instructions were unclear. One side was a fixed small bowl of rice noodles, while the other was plain noodles where you added your own toppings. There should ideally be a small blackboard listing the options for guests to choose from, but there wasn't. The staff also didn't proactively explain the options; I had to ask detailed questions to understand. This led to a poor experience, especially since the noodles weren't particularly tasty. I hope the hotel can improve this in the future.

The hotel environment is fantastic, right next to Yulongwan Park. There's a small path leading to the back entrance of the park, and it's lush with greenery, making the air really fresh. The front desk staff (especially the young lady) was super friendly and provided excellent service. The room was spacious, and all the drinks in the minibar were complimentary. It also had a balcony, perfect for soaking up the sun and enjoying a cup of tea – super relaxing!

Lexiao8888My stay was super satisfying! Daisy at the front desk was warm and polite, and check-in was very fast. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was soft and comfortable, the bathroom had no strange odors, and there was plenty of hot water. The hotel's location is convenient for getting around and dining. The soundproofing was good, so it wasn't noisy at all at night. The housekeeping auntie provided thoughtful service, and all facilities were complete and in good condition. It's excellent value for money, and I'll choose this hotel again for my next trip. Highly recommended!

My stay at the Wanda Realm Hotel in Chenggong, Kunming, was excellent overall, and I highly recommend it. The hotel boasts a prime location in the heart of Chenggong, offering convenient access to public transportation, including a nearby metro station and Wanda Plaza. This makes it incredibly easy to get around, whether you're traveling for business, enjoying some shopping and dining, or heading to the high-speed train station. It's truly a great choice for both business travelers and tourists.
The hotel's overall ambiance is upscale and elegant. The lobby is spacious and bright with sophisticated decor, and the public areas are clean, tidy, and offer a quiet, comfortable atmosphere. The attention to detail truly reflects its quality, making you feel relaxed and at ease the moment you walk in.
The front desk service was particularly outstanding. The staff were warm, polite, and provided excellent service with a smile. Check-in was efficient and quick, and they were patient and thorough throughout. They proactively offered information about hotel facilities, local attractions, and travel tips, and promptly answered any questions I had. Their professionalism and thoughtfulness made me feel incredibly welcome.
The room itself was clean and tidy, well-equipped, and the bedding was comfortable. The soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a high quality of rest. With its standardized service, first-class environment, and convenient location, this hotel is a top choice in the Chenggong area of Kunming. I'll definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Kunming, and I genuinely recommend it to all my friends.

Traveling to Yunnan with my bestie and our two kids, I specifically chose the Golden Eagle Plaza Hotel near Kunming's Old Street because one of the kids gets carsick, and we could walk to all the attractions. I didn't have super high expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival. The entire hotel was quiet and comfortable, and the room was incredibly spacious – enough for both kids to play freely. There are plenty of dining and entertainment options nearby; we even tried tie-dyeing at the Aocheng Building and bought a bunch of little souvenirs at the Jingxing Flower, Bird, and Jewelry Market. The best part is that everything was within walking distance, saving the kids from car sickness! The front desk service was also excellent. Highly recommend!
