Mountain View Hotels in Kunming

Location is a big plus here — right next to the convention center, a shopping mall with tons of dining and shopping options, and DiDaDi outdoor theme park is literally just outside the hotel. The kids loved it and kept themselves busy the whole time. Rooms were great and the outdoor bathtub was a nice bonus. We had a minor hiccup with the AC going out overnight, but the manager was super responsive and got us moved to a new room without any hassle since the technician wasn’t around over the weekend. Really appreciated that. Free breakfast and supper are both included, and honestly both were really good — plenty of variety and everything tasted great. Oh, and don’t sleep on the hotel’s rooftop photo shoot. The views up there are stunning and it’s a proper must-do during your stay. All in all, a really enjoyable stay. Highly recommend!

A great and comfortable hotel! Location: The hotel is directly opposite Daguan Park and Yu Garden, so we could start exploring right after checking in on the first day! It's also a quick taxi ride to Cuihu Park/Jiaochang Middle Road, usually around 20 minutes. It's about 45 minutes from the airport and roughly 40 minutes from Dounan Flower Market. Ambiance: Located by Dianchi Lake, it's very quiet overall. The room was incredibly clean, equipped with smart home devices, and ordering takeout was super convenient. We could order things like 'Zhen Tan Fried Chicken' or 'Shang Shan He Cha' (tea) and a robot would deliver them to our room. The hotel also offers sound bowl meditation classes in the evening, which I tried and found very therapeutic~ Service: The service was excellent. The staff at the front desk were all very kind and gentle. They even proactively helped us with our luggage when we took a taxi to the airport, which was incredibly helpful. Plus, breakfast runs until 10:30 AM and offers both Chinese and Western options. During my two-day stay, I tried the rolled noodles and rice noodles, both were delicious, and I especially loved the accompanying mushrooms. Overall, a very satisfying trip! I'll definitely consider staying here again next time I'm in Kunming, haha!

The room layout was stunning, truly reflecting a designer brand's touch. The TV screen was massive, and the two large floor-to-ceiling windows at the corner offered incredibly open views. The amenities provided were also top-notch. What really stood out was the impeccable butler service. They contacted me in advance to ask about my needs, and knowing I was driving, they even sent me the parking location, saving me a lot of hassle. They also gave detailed directions to Dounan Flower Market (it's not far, but you need to follow road regulations, which makes it feel a bit longer). There was one minor issue: even though we were on the 28th floor, the noise from passing cars on the road at night still affected my sleep quality.

I’ve stayed at this hotel many times as a great spot for a staycation. I love its location where it’s right next to the lake and allows for some quiet walks. It’s also close to lots of food options. The service has always been great every time. This time I brought medicine that needed to be kept in the fridge at a certain temperature and the staff did an amazing job to make sure that was arranged. It was really attentive service. The manager on shift and Xiao Zhao were both great. Thanks for another great stay. Will definitely be back again next time.

Very good location near all of the best neighbourhood of Kunming. You can go out of the hotel and walk during 1hour and enjoy the city. Starting at Green Lake Park going through Huanggong east street take a break at Yuying park and Wuhua square watching the Yunnan Monument to the people heroes, visiting the Old town and enjoy the Street food / bakery : rose bagel in Qiangwang street or Namping street / square then watch a movies at Schuncheng shopping center and IMAX theater. The hotel is also clean and well equipped

A wonderful hideaway for a hot spring getaway. The private courtyard comes with its own hot tub, or you can switch things up and use the public pools. In the evenings, you can catch a stunning sunset, and the Ancient Dian Kingdom Museum is right across the way. The villa's amenities are top-notch, and it's very clean, even including a private sauna. There weren't any bugs this season, which made it a super comfortable and relaxing spot for a few friends to unwind. The breakfast and dinner at the mountaintop restaurant are both excellent, and they do Western dishes really well too!

The room is pretty decent and big. There's just a bit of noise as the room I got is next to a room being renovated, but it is only during the daytime. The best thing for me aside from the beautiful view, big room, and big bed is the smart toilet (I specifically check for places with bidet for my stays, and this place got a high-tech one). The hotel and cold water are also great. I appreciate that the toilet, sink, and shower are separate. The staff are all kind and helpful. I got an issue with my DiDi account and need to book one for my scheduled tour, and the staff on duty gladly helped me book one paying for it and said I could just settle the payment later, and even escorted me to the DiDi and let the driver know I don't speak the language and to get me safely to the location. The other staff also helped me with my WeChat, which helped a lot during my whole stay in China. The only con that I can say (if you are specific with location) is that it is not that close with the usual tourist spots like the Kunming Old Street, but it is close to the South Railway station (Kunmingnan). This is not a big con for me as I actually enjoyed the nearby malls and alleys. This is one of the good stuff here as well. It is on top of a mall, and just across the place is also a place to go shopping (for clothes, food, restaurants). There's a big supermarket/department store in the next door mall too. It also gets lively at night. Overall, personally, I find this a great place to stay in Kunming.

I recently stayed at this hotel, and I can confidently say it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had while traveling. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with genuine warmth and a level of hospitality that made me feel instantly at home. The room was spotless, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable — every detail felt carefully thought out, from the cozy bed and soft linens to the perfect lighting and refreshing scent in the room. The amenities were top-notch, and everything worked flawlessly. What really sets this hotel apart, however, is the service. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure my stay was perfect. Whether it was helping me with local recommendations, arranging transportation, or simply greeting me with a smile every morning, they made me feel truly valued as a guest. The location is excellent — close to everything I needed, yet peaceful enough for a relaxing night’s sleep. Breakfast was delicious and fresh, with plenty of variety to start the day right. I’ve stayed at many hotels, but this one truly exceeded my expectations in every way. I will absolutely be coming back, and I can’t recommend it highly enough to anyone visiting this area.

We are Americans from Hong Kong and traveled to Kunming for our Easter holiday. The positives of this hotel: 1. it was beautiful. The design and furnishings were very well done and the room itself was exceptionally clean. 2. The owners were so kind. We arrived way after the tea time hour, but they still provided our family with cappuccinos and fresh fruit, free of charge. Both were delicious and our children were so excited about the gourmet coffee art. 3. The mattress in the main bed area was very comfortable. Not a typical “hard” mattress like many hotels in China. Another bonus: it was actually a KING size, which we rarely see outside the US! 4. The breakfast was Chinese style and the rice noodles were delicious! The hotel also had a beautiful courtyard area to eat outside. A few items to be aware of: 1. although the hotel was in a neighborhood near the lake, the neighborhood itself was a bit strange. We could tell it was meant to be a beautiful, well-to-do neighborhood of modern villas, but more than half the neighborhood was unused and/or under construction so it wasn’t as lively feeling in the evening because it was so dark and desolate seeming. It was beautiful in the daylight though! 2. This is not a big hotel chain, just an independent boutique style hotel operating in one of these villas. 3. There are no optimal eating spots near the hotel. You have to take a 20-30 minute Didi (taxi) ride to the nearest area with a lot of restaurants. However, if you like street food, there is a street food carnival area about 10 minutes away via walking (walk north along boardwalk bordering the lake.) Overall, because of the kindness of the owners, the cleanliness and modernity, delicious breakfast, and comfortable mattress, we would definitely choose this hotel again for a one-night stopover.

The facilities are top-notch; everything in the room is smart, even the toilet. The layout is perfect, and the decor is stylish and modern. There's also a sofa and a desk, which is super convenient for work. The hygiene is excellent—everything is spotless, and the bedding is really comfortable. The cleaning staff were also very friendly and even gave us extra bottled water. The overall environment is fantastic. Downstairs, there are all sorts of snacks and fruit stands, which is really handy. Plus, it's super close to Kunming South Station—just a short walk away! The service was outstanding. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and attentive, and they even recommended some great places to eat and visit nearby. I'm really satisfied, and the value for money is amazing. I highly recommend it!
