The environment is very good. The hotel opened in 2024. There is a hot spring designed by Kengo Kuma. This is my second stay just for these reasons. The disadvantages are that there is a cemetery next to it, so please choose carefully if you are afraid of it. In addition, the flip-flops are a bit useless and can't be worn at all. If you walk to the hot spring area, it will hurt. I have never encountered the problem of flip-flops being difficult to wear in other Japanese hotels. I hope it can be improved.

Fortunately, I stayed at the famous Park Hyatt Kyoto 701. When checking in at the lobby, the service staff knelt down to serve throughout the whole process. I could enjoy sake, champagne, etc. at the same time. It happened to be a guqin performance at 5 o'clock. The whole check-in experience was smooth and full of senses. When I entered the room and the service staff opened the window, I was intoxicated by the real scene even if I had watched many videos before. During my stay, I saw the red leaves of the ancient pagoda and even the rainbow in the early morning, which was poetic and picturesque.
The room supplies are basically the same as other Park Hyatts around the world, and there is no merit or demerit. The breakfast on the second day was mediocre because I had tried the breakfast at Kyoto Yamato before, so I chose Western style this time. The buffet had Chinese buns and rice dumplings, which were quite authentic. The dishes ordered were also amazing, and the udon noodles were delicious. At the breakfast location, you can see the comings and goings of people in Ninenzaka, and even feel that you are part of the street.
A small complaint is: there seems to be an exhaust vent for the heating system under room 701. There will be intermittent white smoke floating in the autumn and winter. When the smoke is heavy, it affects the viewing experience. If you want to take pictures, you have to wait for a while. I hope the hotel can make adjustments in the future.

An almost impeccable hotel.
There are not too many dishes in the breakfast buffet plus a la carte, but they are all unique dishes. The breakfast waiters were very enthusiastic.
The hotel environment is very good and quiet. There are eight types of pillows to choose from. The room attendant brought many pillows for me to choose from.
The room cleaning is also very professional and enthusiastic.
The concierge was very attentive and helped us confirm our destination with the driver.
Like the room facilities very much.
The gym is the best facility I've ever stayed in at a hotel.
It has the smell of camphor wood.
Every detail of the hotel is attended by enthusiastic waiters.
I like Kyoto because of the four seasons and will come again next time.
All waiters are very professional.

We loved our stay at Hotel the Mitsui. Super nice and zen design . Absolutely adore their lobby area, which I think is designed by Andre Fu. Always drawn into his work somehow.
Breakfast food was okay, but the view really made up everything l. Super relaxing & beautiful
Service was great. Most of them were able to speak English proficiently.
There’s a thermal spring at their basement, which you have to call the reception before you go to ensure there’s enough space. Everything was well prepared, including swimwear, disposable underpants, towels, water, etc. Since they control the # of people, everyone has their own space and it still feels very private.
Room is nice with many details. Love their huge selection of pillows available for guests. It’s not huge, but the space is well used.
Location wise, I wouldn’t say it’s the most convenient, but if you take a cab, everything is reachable in 20 mins max, so it’s not too bad. There are still good restaurants and touristy places to go that are in walkable distance, so it’s not middle of nowhere.
Overall, fantastic experience which I will recommend for others!

The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto sits on the banks of the Kamogawa River—a site favored by Japanese nobility since the 17th century—offering sweeping views of the magical Higashiyama Mountains. This urban resort features 134 guest rooms and suites with distinctive Japanese motifs, four restaurants and bars, authentic Japanese cuisine, and a spa for the ultimate rejuvenation.

The Ritz-Carlton in Kyoto is much less cost-effective than the Ritz-Carlton in Osaka. Not to mention it is one or two times more expensive, and the Japanese and American breakfasts are both inferior. However, you can make udon noodles or fruit platter by special request. The service is still very enthusiastic. The hotel is located on the Kamogawa River, and it is very comfortable to walk along the river. In addition, it is a good experience to walk to Nishiki Market during the day and to Pontocho at night to eat and shop. When you are tired of shopping, you can have a spa treatment at the hotel, but remember to make a reservation in advance as the price is not cheap.

I don't want to miss the charming autumn colors of Kyoto at this time of year. It's better to do than to say. When I was choosing a hotel this time, I saw the newly opened Kamo Residence by Reflections. I prefer new hotels. In addition, the hotel's location, room size and facilities, and the scenery outside the hotel also fully met my expectations. I made an order without hesitation. I have stayed in many hotels of all sizes in Kyoto before, and I have also experienced the top 3 Park Hyatt, Aman, and Ritz Carlton. To be fair and open, I will choose here again in the future. At this price, a 60-square-meter room is rare in Kyoto, not to mention in Japan. There is also a kitchen with an island counter, dining table and chairs, induction cooker, oven, refrigerator, washing machine, temperature-controlled wine cabinet, kitchen utensils for pots and pans, tableware, and various tea cups, coffee cups, and wine glasses. This supporting facility and the view of the Kamogawa River outside the window crush too many competitors. The owner has considered everything that can be considered and put a lot of thought into it. The drinks in the refrigerator, the coffee, tea and snacks in the room are all free (free). When you check in, you can create a WeChat group, and all kinds of thoughtful tips will be sent to the group, including daily weather, sightseeing recommendations, and dining recommendations. There is no language barrier when living here, both Chinese and English are smooth, eliminating the embarrassment of Japanese. The store asks the day before whether to have Japanese or Western breakfast the next day, agrees on the delivery time, and puts it outside the room door on time. This way, you can eat in the room without disturbing your sleep. The room is in excellent sanitary condition. It will be cleaned after going out during the day, and it will be cleaned at night. There is also a terrace on the roof of the hotel where you can barbecue and party. There are three floors and 6 rooms in total. More than ten family members and friends can come together and directly book the entire hotel. You must find a little flaw in the ointment, that is, the shower in the bathroom is a little inconvenient for the elderly with inconvenient legs and feet. I mentioned this small problem to the store, and the store accepted it happily and planned to improve it. I'd like to let you know that there is already a branch in Hanama-koji, a very nice Japanese-style loft, 5 minutes walk from Kennin-ji Temple, which I like very much. The branch in Yasaka Shrine will be opened in two years. If you ask me where to stay in Kyoto, I will definitely recommend this place.
