A very good stay experience. The location is very good, very close to the various attractions in Arashiyama, about 10 minutes on foot, quiet in the bustling city. But it takes more than 10 minutes to walk to the station, etc. If you are carrying luggage, it is still a bit inconvenient, you can take a taxi. Because the red leaf season is very expensive, we booked a basic room type, which was allocated on the 2nd floor, but the view from the balcony is very good, with red leaves and Arashiyama in the distance. The room is quite satisfactory, and the luxury hotel is average. The service feels very individual. The front desk reception we just checked in was very polite and very good. When we checked out, we felt just so-so, a little arrogant. The hotel is not big, but the landscaping is beautiful, one step at a time. Especially the small courtyard opposite the restaurant, it is very enjoyable to sit on the bed during breakfast, and there are two black cats in the yard. We took a lot of satisfactory photos in the hotel, the key point is that there is no one! As for additional services, since our room did not have a bath, we tried the private baths in the hotel. There are two private baths next to each other. The bamboo forest environment is very good. I personally recommend the one inside. However, you need to make an appointment in advance, and the service fee is more than RMB 200. Before leaving, I asked the hotel to help reserve a taxi from Kyoto Station, which cost about RMB 200, which was very convenient for catching the plane.

We loved our stay at Hotel the Mitsui. Super nice and zen design . Absolutely adore their lobby area, which I think is designed by Andre Fu. Always drawn into his work somehow. Breakfast food was okay, but the view really made up everything l. Super relaxing & beautiful Service was great. Most of them were able to speak English proficiently. There’s a thermal spring at their basement, which you have to call the reception before you go to ensure there’s enough space. Everything was well prepared, including swimwear, disposable underpants, towels, water, etc. Since they control the # of people, everyone has their own space and it still feels very private. Room is nice with many details. Love their huge selection of pillows available for guests. It’s not huge, but the space is well used. Location wise, I wouldn’t say it’s the most convenient, but if you take a cab, everything is reachable in 20 mins max, so it’s not too bad. There are still good restaurants and touristy places to go that are in walkable distance, so it’s not middle of nowhere. Overall, fantastic experience which I will recommend for others!

Overall, the hotel is new and looks very nice. For family traveling, it is not very convenient, especially if you have strollers as there are places without ramps, only stairs. There is not much amenities you can use in the property without paying extra. With such a high room price, you would expect more. The location is very close to the Nara park and you can see deers inside the property. The included breakfast can be better, I don’t think the portion is enough, but they do provide rice if you need more.
