We stayed in unit 37 of Fox Run, exchanged through Interval International. Not sure if this is separate from other parts of Rumbling Bald. After a 12-hour drive, you're greeted by a trailer on a hilltop which turns out to be 3.5 miles (9 minutes on these roads) from your unit. The worst is you're told you have to return activity cards there (when you want to leave at 6 a.m., this will tack on about half an hour to your 12-hour journey.) If you don't, you will be charged $25 per activity card, $5 per room card. Never heard of this anywhere! Plastic cards. Since we had to get on the road at 6 a.m., our solution was to return all cards except one key card the day before and swallow the silly $5. Customer service here is "tough on you." Very few restaurants open early in week. Legends at the resort was fair with one order laughably wrong (marinated caprese salad was raw vegetables, no cheese.) We've stayed in other older condos elsewhere and they can be OK. The owners are going to get sued soon if they don't REPAIR the DECREPIT WALKWAY to the front door. Inside clean enough though they want you to put ALL sheets and towels in one giant plastic bag. Strange, another first. Downstairs master bedroom clammy, but they have a heater on the wall. Variety of bugs in unit: wasp, giant beetle, ant, centipede (?). Husband found golf course OK. One day, Rumbling Bald (I assume the entity that allows check-in at the bottom of the hill) decided to work on the roads, so when we returned in the afternoon, we had a 25-minute detour to our unit. Another first. I've been to this area many times, stayed in timeshares and independent cabins, and would not return here due to the way it is managed, including poor customer service, and difficulty getting to a decent restaurant or store. PS To the owners: I don't think the rinky-dink garbage setup is bear-proof. One day there was garbage all over because any self-respecting bear, racoon or squirrel can open the lids that are set on cans in the ground. They don't even have to climb!

The beach and pools were great. Our teenagers really enjoyed all the amenities. There is plenty of rest rooms and places to get snacks. There are also a few restaurants and golf. The AirBnB we stayed at was a half mile from the actual resort so we had to drive the kids back and forth. That was a bit too much. A path through the woods would be great.

DO NOT STAY IN FAIRVIEW 305. I hate writing this review because we loved the resort itself, it had lots of amenities and gorgeous scenery. Unit 305 in the Fairview villas has an air conditioner upstairs that is loud, ancient, and absolutely loaded to the hilt with black mold. The owners know. They refuse to replace a few hundred dollar machine for the health of the people staying. Do not rent that unit.

The evening of check in at 160 Whitney Blvd UNIT 64, the towels and hard wash cloths were used for sure, how nasty!!…I wouldn’t give my dog a bath with them. After we pulled the dirty sheets back, they were wrinkled (like someone already slept in the bed). we called the Host asap. Although Joe was apologetic and offered a full refund and a free night stay, we only received back half of the money. We stayed because he asked us to and promised clean linen the for next day. We always bring cleaning wipes, etc so actually they should have refunded the built in cleaning fee. The Owner played hard ball and insisted that since we stayed , we wouldn’t get full refund. Also “damage fee was included. but there were no damages. We are still in the Covid days and for a property owner to have a cleaning crew that failed the customers, should be shamed!.

We arrived on Friday just before 4PM. The front desk struggled to find the WiFi password. She then offered to call or text me with it later. I can understand why the password didn’t print off on the forms, because it was pretty disturbing. It was glowworm.bleak.devient.unlucky. When we arrived at the house, the smoke detectors were beeping. I called the front desk at 4:21 PM. They said they would “try and see” if they could get someone from maintenance to fix the issue. Which is disappointing. If checkin is from 4-5 PM and maintenance leaves at 4:30 PM, how are issues to be resolved on the day of arrival? I didn’t hear from anyone and no one came to resolve the issue. I called security at 7:25 PM and left a voicemail explaining that we took the batteries out of the smoke detectors so they would stop beeping. But that I was hoping someone would come by before we went to bed because I didn’t feel comfortable sleeping w/o them. No one came and no one called. During the middle of the night, even with the batteries removed, the smoke detector in my friends’ bedroom started chirping every 5-10 seconds. It did it all night and they ended up sleeping in the living room. No one got a good night’s sleep because it is a small house and you can hear the beeps everywhere. Saturday morning, I received text that was time stamped 4:42 PM the night before but didn’t come through until the next morning. It explained that the techs were gone for the day and wouldn’t be able fix the issue until they returned. I replied to the text around 8:30 AM and received a prompt reply. The tech came to the house. He spent 5-10 minutes troubleshooting. He didn’t have a new battery. Which is weird because that is why he was called. He said he would go get one and come right back. He didn’t. We waited until after 11 AM to text and see if he was coming back because it was chirping again and also saying “low battery” every few seconds. He came back and replaced the battery. But when we got back from hiking at 5:30 PM. It was beeping and talking again. I sent a text and got no response. We then tried to fix the problem ourselves by taking down the smoke detectors. But the one that was beeping was painted to the wall and we weren’t able to get it off. So I called security. They answered and said they would call around and see what they could do. He was very good at keeping me informed on the actions he was taking and came to replace the battery around 7:30-8 PM and resolved the issue that we had been dealing with for more than 24 hours. I also wanted to call out some items that are in the description on the website but weren’t in the house: - No DVD player - No dishwasher - No fire extinguisher!!! - No fireplace - I’m not sure how many bath towels and wash clothes we were supposed to receive. But we registered 4 guests and only got two of each. The door handle to the laundry room/front porch was broken. So, you couldn’t open the door from the inside. The CFCI

While the resort is gorgeous from the views to the environment i would not recommend having a wedding here to anyone interested. Once they get your money, the only time youll hear from them is when a payment is due. We had a massive list of issues arise the day of the ceremony and 3 weeks later, not a single person has contacted us or even slightly showed that they care whatsoever. Below is the list of things that occurred. -dirty linens -linens not ironed / wrinkly in pictures... especially the sweetheart table of all... -hard to find people to ask for help to move tables (to proper agreed upon layout) and ask simple questions // common answer was "idk this is just my side job" -last 15 mins lights from generator went out completely,so guests had to navigate leaving in the dark and we missed out on a proper (planned) exit down by the ceremony site -poor cake cutting service and our cake melted since they wouldn’t let us put it in their restaurant-capable fridges... I would have happily signed a liability waiver -apps didn’t make it to a 25% of the tables - so money wasted with 0 concern -my vendors (which are my closest friends) heard negative comments throughout the night addressed to and around them from staff // generally just bad attitudes from the staff -broken decor and stuff thrown in boxes when I came in the morning to pick everything up (since they put everything off to the two tables after it went dark), so it was a mess packing up our cars and repacking things so they didn’t break (again) – this is decor I planned to resell -bathrooms dark all night since the power was out -Jessica was ABSOLUTELY fabulous, but there should be more help for her… very hard to reach her because she’s so busy -no one there (as discussed) to help my wheelchaired grandfather get around; had to go out of my way to contact the front desk while I was decorating multiple times Again while this is a beautiful location with stunning views, the service was awful from start to finish and as soon as you make your payment, no one will care what happens next and its nearly impossible to speak with anyone regarding any questions or concerns you may have.

Went solo but pair up with a threesome. Course was in great shape and the staff were both friendly and very helpful. I will definitely be going back again in the Spring. The fairways were easy to hit from and the pace of play was fast.

Stayed in Trout Stream 104B. Never again. Loose electrical outlets, wires hanging out of outlets. Dead bugs, dirty windows, cobwebs, the place needs an internal power wash. No locks on back screen porch. Locks on back screen porch don't work. No curtains on bathroom windows. Plugs would fall out of outlets. Check previous review 2021 by another guest. Same problems. Apparently no management/owner quality control. No hangers in 1st fl. closet. Outdoor seat cushions were filthy, lamps did not work. We have stayed at this resort 5 times and there is always an issue but not this bad. We will not stay again.
