Wow oh wow where do I begin with my valet jaden what a wonderful gentleman. He communicated well and I knew exactly what was happening. I could talk about him for days but I want to leave the review short. My overall experience especially with jaden was amazing at Double tree in Lansing

I love Red Roof. I travel extensively with my dogs and Red Roof has always fit my needs and budget in the past. This location just didn't live up to it. When I made my reservation I requested a ground floor room. When I checked in I was told they had only a single ground floor room but the TV was not working. I figured I would only be using the room to sleep anyway so I accepted it. The front desk staff was very nice and did offer me a small discount for the broken TV. I went to the room (112) and was not able to get the door open, although the light turned green when I scanned the key. I returned to the office for help. They came to the room to show me that the handle sticks and I had to wrench it all the way up and push hard in the short time the light was green. So every single time I needed to enter my room, I had to use both hands to wrench the handle up and to the left and throw my body weight against the door at the same time to get into my room. Often I had to make several attempts to do it correctly. This was a huge hassle especially with having my hands full with dinner or two dogs and trying to get into my room. Also, I woke up on the next morning and realized wires were sticking out of the wall where the smoke detector should be. It was simply missing. I had another problem with the deadbolt popping out while I had the door open and I was unable to move it back in to close the door. I called the front desk and the clerk came to my room to help me with it. Again, the staff was exceptional. She showed me how to release it from the inside by working the handle up and down rather than using the deadbolt lever to move it. She offered to relocate me to a room on the second floor but advised me the TV was also broken in the replacement room. I had no interest in hauling all my things and two dogs upstairs to another room so I just stayed in 112. There was no coffee in the room and when I went to the lobby in the morning the large pot was empty. There was no breakfast included. Pros: The bed was comfortable and clean. Nice cold refrigerator. Microwave in the room. No idea if it worked. I didn't use it. I'm assuming it works and it's nice to have one in a room. Hot water in the shower. Great, convenient location. Safe area. Very responsive and pleasant front desk clerks. Very quiet in the room even with a fully booked hotel. Cons: Faulty door latches and sticky door (This was a HUGE issue for me to literally fight with my door every time I entered the room.) Missing smoke detector. Broken TV. No stopper in the bathroom to allow me to soak in the tub. Shower water pressure was low.. No coffee in room. No breakfast. $94 a night AFTER discount. Hair on the shower walls when I went to take a shower. The hotel is in a great location but next time I'll stay elsewhere. Older hotel, large room, high cost performance

Next to the golf course, 15 minutes drive from the school, very close to the supermarket, complete equipment, reasonable layout, good service quality, kitchen is super easy to use, the refrigerator is big enough. I have visited many times and have the feeling of going home.

We stayed here for 4 nights in October. The room was clean when we arrived and the bed bed was comfortable enough. The hotel was not crowded at all. The internet WILL NOT stay connected so we used a ton of mobile data. IF YOU NEED TO WORK DURING YOUR STAY DONT EXPECT INTERNET. My biggest concern was the lack of housekeeping during our stay. I was not aware until the 2nd day that housekeeping was only provided every 5 days. No one brings towels (they only provide 2) picks up trash or restocks coffee. No one told us about this at check-in or let us know what to do with trash. No one wipes down the bathroom or provides you with supplies to wipe things down yourself. I wouldn't go 4 days at home without even wiping the bathroom counter and I didn't like that here.There is never anyone at the front desk when you need to pick up towels and trash bags.

This is the cleanest and kindest hotel I've ever stayed in. I saw people cleaning walls, doors and elevators daily. Every single employee was kind and welcoming and it was genuine. These people weren't going through the motions....they meant it. Unfortunately, this isn't commonplace anymore, so it was so refreshing! The breakfast had a lot to offer, both hot and grab and go. The breakfast area was constantly being checked and cleaned. This hotel is within walking distance of the campus which was good for my son's tennis camp. THE EMPLOYEES MAKE THIS PLACE SPECIAL!!
