The Stratford Hotel London

Stratford London|2.98km from Igreja Maná (Christian Church)
I stayed at the Stratford the first week of October 2022. The location of this hotel is great, right next to the Stratford International Train station and the Stratford Tub station. I flew in from the US so I arrived to the hotel around 11:30 AM. They said my room was not ready and they “reminded me” the actual check in time would be 3:00 PM. I understood since my arrival was early, I headed to the lobby for drinks and lunch. I checked back with the front desk around 1:30 thinking maybe they called housekeeping to get to my room cleaned quicker but no, still not ready. As I sat in the lobby I would see other customers arrive and get checked in, I found it strange their rooms were ready but not mine. I patiently waited until 3:05 PM, went to the front desk to get my room key….. room still not ready. I have now been sitting in the lobby for almost 4 hours and my room was still not ready. I don’t think they ever called housekeeping to work on my room. It was finally ready at 3:30 PM. Not a good start to my stay, the front desk staff was not helpful, apologetic, or even caring at all. Later (after I requested to speak to a manager) I did get a call to apologize and offer me some free food, I declined stating they need to better manage the cleaning and check in process. Front desk staff on Sunday 10/2 not great at all. But the lobby, bar, and restaurant staff really turned around my initial poor arrival. I cannot say enough about how attentive the wait staff and bartenders were all week. Remember I had to sit in the lobby almost 4 hours on my first day. But each day after work I would come to the lobby/bar areas for drinks and dinner each night. Each morning I had breakfast in the restaurant and it was great. Again the service was amazing and the hostess delivered a great morning welcome. Room was nice well appointed. Coffee maker, safe, and small refrigerator. Large flat screen TC and nice desk to work at. I was in room 419 with a nice view. Bathroom was nice and the shower was very nice as well, walk in. I had an early flight out the 7th so I was worried about what sort of front desk staff would be helping me at 5:30 AM. Well they young man that was attending the front desk was efficient, professional, and very friendly. A nice end to my stay.

Premier Inn London Docklands (Canning Town)

London|1.79km from Igreja Maná (Christian Church)
We spent 4 great nights at this hotel in London. The hotel is not central, but it is located right next to a tube station, which connects you to all parts of London. London Bridge and Tower are just 15 minutes away by tube. It is close to the train tracks, but the truth is that you couldn't hear almost anything (very well soundproofed). The reception is located on the first floor of a building, where the bar and breakfast area are also located. Those who assisted us at reception every day were very friendly. On the last day we were able to leave our suitcases for free, until the late departure of our plane. Check-in was quite quick at the counter with one person. There is also the option of doing it in a machine. The triple room is quite large, with a table, coffee maker, TV, hairdryer. And very clean. Perhaps the main drawback was that it didn't have a closet, just a coat rack and a shelf. In this chain, if you want them to make your room, you have to indicate it every day at the reception, they write it down, and they make your room for you. The breakfast is quite good, with everything that the English breakfast has, plus fruit and pastries. The downside is that if you spend many nights, in the end they never change anything, and it's always the same. As an improvement, they lacked chocolate or cocoa powders for the children (cola cao or similar). In the neighborhood, a 5-minute walk away there are supermarkets, a McDonald's, pizzerias and several restaurants. I have to say that at first I had my doubts, because I had never stayed in this chain, and I had read reviews of some of the chain's hotels, but nothing could be further from the truth, since the stay was perfect and we would repeat without hesitation.

Holiday Inn Express London-Royal Docks, Docklands

We stayed for one night on Saturday August 30th as part of a theatre break package booked via holidayextras.com RECEPTION Easy to find, easy to sort parking and a smiling receptionist was a great start. However, you're part of theatre break package. I think the reception staff should have better knowledge of how to get to theatres, especially as the hotel information sheet specifically says ”if you require any local information or public transport, please speak to a member of the reception team”. All she could tell us was the nearest underground is Canning Town, she didn't even know what lines go through it. The hotel information sheet is also missing any check out information, it also isn't available in the room or on the key card envelopes. It literally isn't written anywhere for guests to find/check Alex (possibly?) on reception was very helpful and really knows his tea! ROOM (106) Not very ergonomical e.g. hair dryer cord too short- had to sit on floor to get enough cord length to use! Couldn't hang my dress up as only supplied with thin wire hangers with no dress strap hooks/loops so kept slipping off. No spare blankets, pillows etc. Its far too warm now for a quilt and told, at midnight when discovering this, would have to come to reception if we wanted a sheet. So I got redressed and went down. En route I passed a staff member coming out of the lift as I was getting in to come down. Waited at reception only for the same staff member to come out of the same lift a few minutes later and give me a sheet they'd clearly just walked passed my room to fetch. This felt like poor staff initiative leading to a missed opportunity for excellent customer service. No bath mat or face cloths, had to use the hand towels. Shower gel hadn't been restocked. Don't think basic housekeeping checks had been done in this room for a while. BOTH bedside lamps not working, neither was the lamp over the sofa as a result no option for softer lighting. The toilet toll ran out and there was no spare (we used tissues but considering we were only booked for one night this is pretty bad!) On the plus side the room was surprisingly quiet and the bed very comfy. BREAKFAST Food was delicious, especially the sausages although there wasn't much atmosphere, it felt like a staff canteen (maybe a little soft music would help?) It would also be helpful to provide trays- it's not easy to carry cutlery, serve up your breakfast, make and carry a brew so it's either juggling or walking back and forth. Or if possible, set the tables? OVERALL Great value for money, would definitely consider Holiday Inn Express again if just for the breakfast but this particular site is lacking attention to detail. This was amplified by the fact the GM requests feedback via email, which I gave and received no acknowledgement at all- if the GM doesn't care about customer satisfaction why would the staff?

Umbrella Properties London Excel

The property was in a good location close to the tube and Canning Town. The room was comfortable but not the cleanest with dust and hair around. There was also mould in the corner of the room and the walls looked quite dirty. The showers and kitchen were nice and modern. I think the cleaner chucked out my drinks in the fridge which meant I had to go and buy more which I wasn’t impressed about. No one would steal half a carton of milk so I would recommend labelling food in the fridge with departure dates.

Stayed late July 2022. Found the hotel and rooms very clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Complimentary water and fruit were a bonus. Parking on road with free permit but also have several spaces at rear. There were spaces at rear throughout our stay. We did park on side road though which was very quiet. Did not know area before booking, but felt perfectly safe after dark with well lit road from tube station. Definitely will go back 😄
Ibis London Canning Town

We stayed at the Ibis Canning Town on Friday 30th September. We found the reception staff really friendly and welcoming We chose the Ibis as we were watching a concert at the O2 that evening. The underground station is just across the road from the Ibis and then just one stop on the jubilee line to the O2. Perfectly located The hotel is very new, immaculate and very chic. Parking was really easy in Hallsville quarter carpark Newham, Rathbone Market, Barking Road, Newham E16 1EN we initially struggled to find parking info online as it’s all very new in this area and lots of building still ongoing. This is an underground carpark behind the Ibis it’s 2 hours free for shopping at Morrisons supermarket and £15.20 for overnight parking we used the PayByPhone app it was very easy. We ate in the very trendy bar having the pizza and a drink deal for £17.50 There was live music in the bar that evening which unfortunately we missed but had a drink after returning from our concert. It was just very chilled, comfortable and welcoming Breakfast was amazing buffet style with a choice full English and continental The staff are lovely couldn’t be more helpful and friendly. Tahir was a name of the team we remembered, he was a very happy friendly face at breakfast but all the staff were fantastic We would definitely recommend a staff at this hotel 👍
