"I compared several hotels around the airport. Some were overpriced with exorbitant rates, while others were in very remote areas with limited dining and amenities, and I couldn't understand how they justified such high prices. Ultimately, I chose this genuine 5-diamond gem, which offers incredible value for money. It's only a 7-minute drive to the airport and provides a free shuttle service, which was a huge convenience. The hotel's facilities are comprehensive, including a gym and a self-service laundry room. This was particularly helpful for a long trip like the Qinghai-Gansu Grand Loop, allowing me to do laundry and work out. Plus, the surrounding waterscape environment is excellent. The service from all staff members was impressive. The front desk receptionists were gentle and patient, and check-in was very fast. Any requests for room service were promptly handled, making me feel comfortable and at ease throughout my stay. The à la carte restaurant on the second floor offers outstanding value; the dishes are reasonably priced and genuinely delicious. I could easily enjoy a full meal without leaving the hotel. The biggest surprise was the breakfast, which was definitely the closest to mainland Chinese tastes I encountered on the entire Qinghai-Gansu Grand Loop, with a wide variety of options that were comforting and satisfying. Overall, this hotel completely outperforms the overpriced hotels near the airport. It's perfect whether you're looking for a layover spot or a business stay. Full five-star rating, I highly recommend choosing this hotel if you're in the area."

"Highly recommended hotel! Firstly, the front desk staff were warm, efficient, and professional. Seeing that we had a child, they proactively upgraded our room based on availability, making the whole process smooth and comfortable. Secondly, the hotel rooms are well-equipped, with relatively new facilities, air conditioning, and spacious, clean interiors. Thirdly, during peak delivery times when the robots were overwhelmed, the hotel staff helped deliver our takeout to the room. Their service-oriented mindset and willingness to go the extra mile for guests were impressive. Fourthly, the location is very convenient, making dining, entertainment, and shopping easily accessible. Overall, I personally think this is a hotel worth recommending to good friends."

"The hotel's location is excellent, with convenient access to dining, shopping, and transportation. Our room on a high floor offered beautiful views overlooking Xining city. The duty manager, 'Xiyifang' (laundry room), was incredibly warm and attentive. Seeing we had a child, they proactively upgraded our room for free, which was very thoughtful. There's also a late-night snack service; if you're hungry coming back late, you can grab some wontons or tangyuan. It's really good. Highly recommend. Finally, Qinghai is absolutely stunning, a must-visit!"

"This was by far the worst hotel we stayed at on our Qinghai-Gansu loop tour, completely lacking any sense of service. From the front desk to the restaurant staff and even the greeters, we felt no warmth and were met with cold faces almost everywhere. The room phone was always unreachable and there were no instructions on how to use it. I really don't understand how this hotel operates and is managed. No matter how grand its appearance, it'll be hard to attract repeat customers with service like that. Quite a disappointment."

"I booked this hotel as the grand finale of my Qinghai-Gansu loop trip, and overall, it was quite good. Seeing me arrive travel-worn, they thoughtfully arranged a high-floor room for better rest. The butler, Lina, added me on WeChat and provided incredibly detailed information, including a list of nearby restaurants and attractions. The room decor was lovely, even featuring a plant, and some design elements were very considerate. For example, the body lotion was easily accessible, so you could apply it while watching TV in bed – very relaxing. I hope they can improve the voice control system, consider cleaning the exterior of the windows, and upgrade the bedside alarm clock/Bluetooth speaker, as it falls a bit short compared to other hotels."

"Nice comfortable apartment with quality furniture and fittings, clean and well maintained..The door men/concierge staff were very helpful and friendly when we arrived & leaving. The food/beverage supervisor was very supportive and helpful, We decided to try the executive lounge afternoon tea and happy hours, The lounge environment is very elegant & customer service Miss Hu was very attentive and friendly. We enjoyed the hospitality, food and drinks. There are 2 malls close to this apartment hotel which is attached to Sofitel."

"I had originally booked another hotel, but two days before check-in, I found out it didn't have air conditioning. I promptly switched to this one. It turns out that even in Xining (the 'Summer Capital'), AC is still a must. The hotel's location is excellent; it's incredibly convenient for public transport, with bus stops all around, making it easy to get to the main attractions in the city. There's even a park right across the street. The front desk staff were friendly and efficient. The room was spacious and tastefully decorated, the mattress had just the right firmness, bottled water was generously provided, and there was even a capsule coffee machine. The bathroom was large, with a separate wet and dry area. For breakfast, they offered local specialties like beef noodles, rice noodles, blanched vegetables, and milk tea. I particularly enjoyed the hot dishes because they had a good variety of vegetables. I'll definitely stay here again when I come to Xining."

"During my trip around Qinghai Lake, I stayed at the Kaiyuan Hotel in Xining, and it was a fantastic experience. The hotel is very close to Xining Station, within walking distance, which is super convenient for catching high-speed trains. The front desk staff were very dedicated and proactive in helping with any issues. The hotel breakfast was plentiful, and the restaurant was spacious. They also have an underground parking garage, which is great for those traveling by car. The rooms were clean and tidy, and the bedding was very comfortable. The hotel's surroundings have a well-developed commercial area, making shopping and strolling very convenient. It's close to Xining's shopping streets and night markets. Highly recommended!"

The staff were warm and patient, proactively offering travel tips. Breakfast included authentic Qinghai specialties, which were delicious. The soundproofing in the rooms is excellent, ensuring a quiet and comfortable stay—perfect for unwinding after a long journey. With a laundry room and pantry available, it offers great value for money. This is definitely my top choice for a stopover on the Northwest loop. Highly recommended!"
