Hotels near Our Lady of Mercy English Speaking Parish in Madrid

The environment was generally well and close to the train/subway station. However, it was very difficult to locate the place at first because you have to go up a floor to discover the hotel. Apart from that, the construction hasn't stopped once I checked in so there was a lot of noise around. Plus the elevator outside of the hotel broke down twice while I was there. The bath and bed is generally well. Although I should warn those who wishes to stay, this hotel's equipments are fairly aged and it's near to impossible to turn the AC to the temperature you want. The breakfast was rather nice and I enjoyed the varieties of food it provided. The breakfast was not something fancy but definitely had more choices than the last hotel I stayed in Barcelona. In general, a nice place to stay. The staff were very kind and helpful.

Our hotel at Crisol Vía Castellana was okay but nothing more - to be honest I expected more, especially from a 4 star hotel. To start with the good things: the service is okay, breakfast is very nice and the metro and busses are right infront of the hotel (you still need to take 2 different trains to get to the most famous places though). Depending on the room you have a view above the street which can be enjoyable. You receive some cute chocolates and cosmetics when you arrive in the room. Nevertheless the hotel really needs a renovation! Starting with the lobby that only has some old and dirty sofas placed inside and could be designed in a way more comfortable way. The rooms really disappointed me!! We booked one king size bed and had two single beds. The safe didn´t work. The water in the shower changed from hot to cold very quickly. Most of the doors and shelfs had damages and looked very used. All in all I wouldn´t choose the hotel again unless it´s been renovated.

I booked this hotel with my son as it is a musically themed hotel and it has exceeded all expectations.On arrival we were greeted by Anthony who was extremely helpful and very informative.There are complimentary instruments you my can book to play or if you wish you can also book a replica vinyl turntable for your room with your choice of vinyl.Lovely pool side area with chilled music in the background.All of the staff here have been very kind and helpful during our stay.Superb hotel. Stayed for 2 weeks at the end of January. I was visiting another company that had an office a 10 minute walk from the hotel so very convenient. Food the in on site restaurant was of a good quality and there is plenty of restaurants nearby if you want to change it up a bit. Good breakfast in the morning with plenty of choice. Room and overall hotel was clean and staff were polite and looked after me during my stay. The football stadium is a short walk away and you can hop on the metro to visit the more touristy centre of madrid if you need. The station is right outside. The airport is only a 15 minute drive away. Will stay here again.

Airport and train connection with an overnight at this hotel. Put “hotel Madrid Chamartin affiliated by Melia” in google map and it’s easy to find. Arriving from airport terminal 4 take the C1 or the C 10 train (just three stops to Chamartin and cheaper than metro, from platform 1). OR take metro 8 to Ministerio, change to 10 to Chamartin. Hotel is two minutes walk from the Chamartin train station. OK to drop luggage early. And we paid €15 to check in at 9:30 AM. Clean, simple room and friendly staff. The next day we checked out at 12 noon to catch a train.

Although we have been 1 night we have been very comfortable, the very friendly reception girl, the only bad thing is that when calling the customer attention no one answered, we are sure we will return ☺️

Stayed end of Feb during a business trip, greeted by the main entrance doors not working and the side door jammed. Security assisted with gaining access but not a great impression. The hotel card reader was not reading any of my cards even though I had just used them outside. I asked where the nearest bank was but the staff could not help apart from shrugging their shoulders. Another person had the same issue after me and it transpired the trainee receptionist had not got the experience to deal with the issues. The hotel was clean with decent rooms as you would expect at this level, the rest of my stay was pleasant with helpful staff.

Room was nice but I expected much more interesting decor from the ads. Area was very subdued, I think the restaurant was closed, maybe because of off season. Bed was comfortable and room was adequate. Liked the room darkening shades. Front desk help very nice and helpful with transportation questions. Overall harder to get to than I needed.

We chose this hotel over one right in the middle of downtown, and it was a good choice. Close to bus and metro stops, the ride to more touristy areas wasn't long, and we got to see a quieter, residential area. The restaurant and breakfast are excellent, including gluten free croissants-- no other hotel during my travels in Spain had such good gluten free options, they were great quality. They also have vegan options, including a delicious veggie burger. The room was fairly spacious, well appointed and comfortable. Overall a great stay.

Please Avoid this place. It is cheap but nothing else! I stayed here checked into the receiption which is 24 hours after my working day. The place is near the metro cuatro caminos (a mainly poorer area of Madrid with lots of south american population). The area does have a 24 hour supermarket which was good as the hostal has no food/drink facilities. The room was a very small single bed as I was alone on an education course for my job. The room had a fan and tv and a small table. Once you switch off the light the fan goes off so you cannot sleep with the fan on at night with 39c heat. you cannot leave the window open as its not a safe place. The first moment I checked in, i quickly went outside to get air and get the metro outside. They checked in a drunk african man at 6pm in the evening who was walking up the stairs with a can of beer unable to walk or see anything (their is no lift to the rooms) you need to walk up around 50 stairs to the rooms. They take anyone from the streets if they pay the small charge to stay here. Second day, the two receiptionists or owners were fighting over money from the hotel they were shouting and getting agressive. Its was an uncomfortable situation to see. I left and came back after work for a shower and the room had not been cleaned. They said you didnt put a badge on the door saying clean my room. Couldnt they knock and say something? Very strange way of working? The next day I put the badge clean my room but NO nothing changed. It was an excuse.. Then I went and complained he didnt speak any English and didnt want to know he said the cleaners left and nothing he can do. I pulled off the bedsheets, but the bed protector was badly stained with blood and I also got a skin rash. I left the property 1 day early, it was disgusting. The toilets were not cleaned either and insects were crawling everywhere. This place should be closed down immediately. They dont take security or cleaning seriously, they dont want to know problems only take your money. I explained to Expedia about this place but the hotel denied everything. SHAME!!!
