I was continuously told that the Marriott does not honor the state government only federal/military. Yet, I booked the reservation on their site using the state government option. I’d also stayed at a Marriott a few miles away from this location a week ago on business with no problems using the state rate. I travel often, but this time I was interrogated by Chris and his female coworker about my eligibility. Despite the fact that I showed them my state government Id, they still went into the system and changed my rate to the standard rate, which was significantly more. The general manager was non responsive to the matter. I am very disappointed in my experience and I will take this up with Marriott corporate.
