"Location is in a good neighborhood, you can cook and the room is spacious. Suitable for long stays. However for me, there are better hotels to stay at in the same price range. Encountered a problem multiple times with the door lock, overall it's ok. The wifi is also good."
"This is my second visit to Muscat and I was impressed by the pool, which is over 100m long. The pool is truly gorgeous! Since August is the low season, there are not many guests at the hotel and you can swim in the pool alone, as if it were your own private pool! In fact, there are 3 pools. So you can choose the one that suits your taste. Perhaps, swimming in the Gulf of Oman did not impress me much. Let's just say that there are better seas. But, on the other hand, there is always such a small percentage of vacationers who want to swim in the sea that most people just need to go in, jump in the waves and get out. In terms of enjoying the beach, the experience here is 100% positive. The service on the beach is excellent! They constantly bring ice water with lemon and mint, offer refreshing napkins, and treat you to fruits. The hotel is designed in a traditional Arabic style and fully meets the idea of a luxurious holiday. The dark palette in the interiors emphasizes the architecture and gives a sense of sophistication. For guests who book villas, the Amouage bath line is offered. In simpler rooms - Аsqua di Parma, which is also not bad! As for the food, in my opinion, it is ordinary, without frills. I received undoubted aesthetic pleasure from staying in this beautiful place, but the hotel did not make any gastronomic impressions on me. At the same time, there are no complaints about the service. Everyone I dealt with - reception staff, beach staff, waiters are exceptionally friendly and responsive!"
"Very good, affordable, convenient for business trips, clean and hygienic, very close to Maktoum Airport, very convenient to get there, business trips are very good, will continue to choose next time. The pool is under renovation"

"I like the pool but the beach is dirty with alot of fishing nets trapped on corners and plastic bottles in the cave areas.
The rooms are small and bathrooms Sewrage not good. And they cant fix it if blocked
The hotel is old.
But people who work in this hotel they are amazing thats why i keep going to them every year.
They upgraded me for free and give me late check out
The receptionists are super nice"
"We stayed for three nights, the room was clean and spacious, the breakfast was rich and varied, and we were surprised to have three dozen fish and monkey peaches. The elevator leads to Grand Mall, which has supermarkets and restaurants, clothing, etc. Every waiter is very warm and thoughtful. But the taxi outside the hotel is twice as expensive as the taxi downstairs, which brings us inconvenience. Breakfast number one"
"The hotel is in very good location with convenient surroundings, like the Turkish canteen and shops. The staffs in hotel are very nice. Thuraiya helps us with ordering Omantaxi due to our phones does not work."
"The attitude of service is very good, of course, I feel that in the Sultanate of Oman, the service is generally good.
The location is very good, very convenient, it should be regarded as the city center, you can walk to Grand Muscat mall, about 10 minutes.
The room can choose the apartment, the area is large."
"Hotel: clean, comfortable, suitable for vacation.
The service is very good and satisfying, there is a lift, trolley for luggage, there is a swimming pool, there is a gym, there is breakfast (paid).
The hotel is very strategic, there are many restaurants around the hotel, laundry, printing, close to the beach and close to embassies from various countries."
"Good and clean room ☺️. AC is well maintained by the hotel. Food is good. Pool and Gym also was a great experience. Next time, I will surely book here."

Amazing
Lluke_middlebrookStaying at the Shangri La Al Husn Muscat has been one of the highlights of our time in the Middle East.
We decided to go for my girlfriends birthday and the team worked exceptionally well with me to deliver a unforgettable experience.
Getting to the Shangri La was a bit of a challenge and taxis do not come cheap in Oman. Though it was not challenging I do wish there was a pickup/drop off option for the guests.
The inclusive breakfast was wonderful and ordering off the menu assured that everything you ordered stayed fresh. There was a mixup with our order due to a language barrier but the food was still phenomenal.
The in room breakfast and room service was a highlight as it allowed you to take full advantage of the room and with the inbuilt heaters in the dining table assured the food stayed hot. The value for money on in room dining was disappointing as an order of a burger and fries came with a small amount of fries, however that was fixed with our next order.
The afternoon tea was delicious, highlights being the fromage and watermelon and the scones. Each afternoon tea was different and kept the palate excited.
The happy hour beverages were also included and always came with a suprise canapé from the restaurant.
In terms of the staycation, it was perfect. The interior and exterior of the hotel is beautiful and the sound of the ocean left you relaxed for the stay.
I would like to raise that there was a lot of sealife by the beach which deterred us from swimming in the sea as we had heard a lot about the Omani coast and didn’t have much confidence in the beach patrol and lifeguards there. We noticed some playing on their phones but they were always happy to assist taking a picture for the two of us. I would suggest a more upfront approach when it comes to what you can expect in the sea there.
A visitors lounge was also available allowing you to take full opportunity of the facilities till you left for your next adventure.
GGuest UserBeautifully designed property, new so everything is sparkling clean and it has been constructed to a very high standard. All the staff were really nice and friendly, the hotel was very quiet. It’s located on a quiet beach, with a nice promenade to walk/jog along and a few restaurants along there too. A couple of cons- our bath didn’t hold water so wasn’t useable (it was leaking water). While we are also completely aware that it is an important religious celebration, the pool area was basically a construction site the day before Ramadan while they drilled in decorations- this could have been done a bit more thoughtfully rather than with workmen there (and drilling) throughout the day.
DD-MitriiGood location: a big supermarket and plenty of restaurants nearby plus Oman Avenues Mall and Muscat Grand Mall in just a half hour walking away. City's attractions like Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, Opera or Qurum Beach are quite close to the hotel. It takes only about 15-20 minutes to get from there to airport by taxi, and if you would like to take a bus, A1 route stop is not too far on Sultan Qaboos Street.
Hotel staff is very friendly, I especially enjoyed my breakfast time there.
AAli AlbadaThe hotel is nice and the staff are very friendly, this is my fourth time at this hotel. However do not take the rooms looking at the cafe, because the music is so high and you can hear it all night you will not a good night sleep. They should have installed double glass to block loud sounds. Overall all it was joyful stay for two nights.
CChloe Alexandra SophiaDisappointing week in a disappointing hotel. From the moment we landed in Oman, the intercontinental hotel was not helpful. When we asked for a taxi, they wouldn’t help us and we had to arrange ourselves. When we asked if we had a sea view, we were told “we had a partial sea view” which was actually a car park and a loud generator which rattled on all through the night. The generator was so loud we had to keep the balcony doors closed all the time. However, one night, even with the doors closed we were kept awake until 3am with loud bangs and clatters from hotel staff loading up vans with furniture after an event at the hotel. When we asked about booking the onsite restaurants, we were told they were all closed apart from the main one. Multiple times when we went to the main restaurant we were told it was too busy and we had to wait and come back later. When we did get into the restaurant, we often had to wait long times for food to be replaced or we given paper cups because they’d run out of glasses! When we tried to get the WiFi at the pool, there was none. When we tried to use the creams in the room, they’d run out. The staff were lovely and the food was nice but altogether, we didn’t feel looked after and definitely don’t feel this is a 5* hotel.
GGuest UserThis was a great hotel APART from the very strong air freshener used inside the rooms, which was so strong I could taste it in my mouth! The kind hotel actually used the ozone machine to suck the air out of a room for me but it hardly made any difference. I stayed over a week and it took about 4 days for the smell to wear off. I would suggest not using such an overpowering smell in the rooms as surely it must be uncomfortable for many guests.
But the food was great, staff were great, rooftop and pool -- I would certainly recommend if you don't mind very intense air freshener!
FFarah Binti RamliI had such a lovely stay at Sheraton Oman. From the moment I arrived, everything felt smooth and welcoming. One of my favorite things in the room was the coffee machine. I used it every day for my coffee break and absolutely loved it! The breakfast buffet was amazing, with so many options and everything tasting fresh and delicious. It was the perfect start to each day. The pool really stood out too - spacious, clean, and absolutely gorgeous. It was such a relaxing spot to unwind.
Overall, I truly enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back again!
AAzariThis was the 2nd time we stayed in this hotel. The hotel is a new property, very clean and in a convenient location near the Mall of Oman. We wanted to be close to the U.S. embassy. The management and staff are super nice and helpful. From start to finish. Restaurant staff are also super nice. We had breakfast every day, and it was sufficient. I definitely recommend this hotel if you are on a trip personal or business.
GGuest UserDecent clean functional hotel, extremely businesslike, everything as it should be but staff were very aloof and unhelpful, when I asked the receptionist to help me with a taxi she walked away, when I asked her colleague he refused and told me to use the ripoff opportunist taxi drivers that were constantly loitering in the lobby and change extortionate prices, customer care non existent but am absolutely fine hotel otherwise
PPHILLIP JAMESThis hotel is strategically located close to the Avenues Mall. Attached to this mall (and closest entrance to the hotel) is Lulu Hypermarket -an amazing supermarket with local and international brands, and a fantastic bakery. This mall is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. However, you do have walk along the road as the sidewalk / footpath does not exist. But this is only for 300 metres. In fact you can get off the street, but it is gravel/ construction site, so you shoes will be messy. Uber and Grab do not exist in Oman. However, the hotel has two or three taxi drivers that will you take you anywhere. They use set rates, rather than a meter. For example Hotel to Airport run is 8 is Omani Rial (US $20). While this hotel is great for shopping, it is not the best for major attractions of Muscat. The main historical sites of Alam Palace, Ai Mirania Fort and National Museum is 21 kms from the hotel. About 10 Omani Rial is each way by taxi. However, there are very few hotels in this area, so most people stay in hotels near Malls in Oman. This is some form of Public Transport in Muscat, but it can be hard for tourists to use without changing to another bus or long walks. For example, the Royal Opera House is 10 kms from hotel. By using public transport this would require a 2.5 kms walk. The hotel rooms are quite spacious and feature comfortable lounge style chairs. The hotel is located near an expressway /motorway, but good soundproofing means this is not an issue. I was of level 3 and could just see the ocean in the distance (right) and the mall (to left). They do have ocean view room (more expensive higher up the building). The TV is very disappointing - small & old with fuzzy channels. Fortunately, the internet is great, so viewing most programs on the computer. The rooftop has great swimming pool and bar, but maybe a little too cold to swim with highs of about 22-23 C in winter. Staff at receptionist are very obliging. I can definitely recommend this hotel for shopping and good base to experience Muscat. However, as mentioned, it is long way from the major tourists attraction of the city and taxi is required.
