"It is very centrally located with Tesco, M n S big supermarkets just round the corner 5 minutes walk away. Some Car park spaces in front good for free parking after 6 pm to 9 am. For cheapest whole day parking, 7.50 pound can be found near the ferry pier, about 7 mins walk from hotel. Easy access to all restaurants.
Reception is within the bar in Ranald Hotel with manned staff until 11pm.
Cons in room, water shower not consistent in temperature, no washing machine and room lightings can feel too dark. But maybe a lot of lightings in that area are like that…
But all in all will recommend. Comfortable."
"the stay was decent. What stands out from all the similar properties is really really really good bed (double bed turned out to more of a superking), nice size tv (50+ inch), sockets with USB are a bonus. interior design is subjective to taste but its not my priority at this price. I guess one can highlight fresh furniture.
Bathroom: Clean shower, standard number of towels and shower mat, hair drier, heated towel rack, shampoo/soap/body lotion and soap bar.
Waiting staff was very nice and helpful.
Breakfast: the breakfast is usual full Scottish breakfast variety buffet, (fried eggs, black pudding, hashbrowns, scones, sausages, bacon, beans) with plenty condiments available as well as 3 types of toast, couple of cheeses and hams, fruit salad, yoghurts, various sweet pastries. Full set of teas, jams honeys etc, but coffee could be a little better, but again cannot complaint at price.
The hotel it is definitely underrated. While some things around hotel are a little flimzy, dusty, it is very decent value. it all fades away when you realise how nice it is to have a fresh large bed and that it is basically minutes away from ferry terminal. Great views are come as a big bonus.
Note for parking: very limited, but you can park at council carpark not far away at reasonable cost."
"We booked 2 rooms 1 night last minute booking. I got Junior suite for me & my husband. Room is very spacious for UK standard, sea view is very beautiful Seaview. The hotel has lift thats very good for travelers with many luggages. The room is a little cold so we switched on spare small heater which is warm enough. Their specialist amenities are very good. Whisky Honey. Oh.our room door isn't working, that's pretty scary."

"Very good central location for Oban activities etc, and getting Ferry to Mull. Clean very comfortable beds, lovely breakfasts and staff very helpful. Good parking at hotel too."
"Service: It is a homestay hotel, quite clean and fragrant, and the public areas are very historical and distinctive as shown in the picture.
Environment: You need to walk or drive to climb the hill, the location is easier to find, and the public area has a good window view.
Facilities: The room is very quiet and has configuration.
Overall, it is quite good."

Great
GGuest UserGreat hotel, good breakfast, good hygiene, friendly front desk service, very good, good location, there are many delicious food nearby, I will choose to book next time, there is a parking lot
PPHYO PHYO WAI YANG YINGThis is very small botique hotel, didn't look impressive front the entrance outside hotel. The moment we went in, it is really cozy & we were greeted by very warming in house manager & booked dinner table as well. We enjoyed their breakfast and as well as dinner, very good quality. Our concern is this hotel doesn't have lift.
GGuest UserThe hotel is 100 meters away from the train station, pier, long-distance bus station. It is also 100 meters away from the most famous seafood hall, which is very convenient. The hotel is very quiet. Facing the sea, you can see the pier and the sunset, it is beautiful.
JJIANYUNA little bit from the train station, so it is quieter. Looking at the sea, sitting in the hotel to see the sea, blue sky and white clouds, very beautiful. The breakfast was good, and the smoked salmon was more delicious than the traditional English breakfast at other hotels. After breakfast, I walked by the beach and saw the rainbow. I walked all the way and saw the rainbow changing. It was a surprise. Going to Scotland, recommending to Auburn, to Auburn, recommend this hotel.
GGuest UserI can't tell you about my stay as I booked the wrong dates. As soon as I found out, I phoned The Oyster Inn to cancel but because I used Trip.com, they said there was nothing they could do.
I cancelled on Trip.com and the message said that they'd contacted the hotel to confirm if it was ok to cancel FOC. According to trip.com, no response was forthcoming so my booking was not cancelled. My booking has since been ”completed”. When I contacted the hotel the following day to ask why they had not approved the cancellation, they said trip.com had simply asked for info, not to approve cancellation. Who is lying?
Suffice to say, I will not use trip.com again and have decided to stay elsewhere in Oban.
GGuest UserPerfect location close to rail station.Lots of positive points, however hotel was dated in parts, room carpet flooring was unstable so had to exercise caution not to trip and cause injury. Reception staff member Jamie pleasant and most helpful, so was Nicola over the phone the night before check-in. Food could be improved, with a better variety at breakfast, and providing fresh fruit.
Room allocated was not what I expected. Would stay again if better room allocated.
TtjqmThe location of the hotel is very good and the parking lot is large. Facing the bay and port, the scenery is beautiful. The room is not big and the overall feeling is rather old, but the price/performance ratio here is very high
