AAnonymous UserI've stayed at Oakwood Hotel & Apartments Grand Batam twice this year, in February and May 2026, and once again, the experience exceeded expectations.
This time, I booked an Executive Twin room for my mother-in-law and her friend for a short getaway from 30 May to 1 June 2026.
The location is excellent—directly opposite Grand Batam Mall, making shopping, dining, and entertainment incredibly convenient. The hotel is also right next to Eska Wellness Spa, where guests can enjoy massages, hair treatments, manicures, and pedicures, making it perfect for a relaxing getaway.
Even before arrival, the service was impressive. I contacted the hotel via WhatsApp regarding a few special requests, and the staff were professional, responsive, and genuinely accommodating throughout the process.
Some highlights of the stay included:
• Spacious and spotlessly clean room
• Comfortable beds that provided a good night's rest
• Hot and cold water dispensers available at every lift lobby
• Smart TV with access to Netflix, YouTube, and other entertainment options
• Excellent breakfast spread with a wide variety of local and international selections
• Complimentary hi-tea, which was a delightful surprise and made the afternoons even more enjoyable
What truly sets this hotel apart is its people. Every staff member—from the front desk and housekeeping team to the chefs, waiters, and bellboys—provided exceptional service with warmth, professionalism, and genuine friendliness throughout the stay.
My mother-in-law and her friend did not have the opportunity to use the hotel facilities such as the swimming pool and gym during this stay, so we are unable to comment on those. However, based on their overall experience, they truly enjoyed every moment here and appreciated the comfort, convenience, and hospitality provided.
We will definitely be returning again and would highly recommend Oakwood Hotel & Apartments Grand Batam to families, couples, and anyone looking for a comfortable, convenient, and welcoming stay in Batam.

NNing-Conveniently located to malls, market and viral cafes. Massages and spas are also very near. Convenient stores located right in front of hotel. They have room services too, remember to ask the front desk. Walkable to itsumo tart area as well.

GGuest UserRequested for a higher floor away from the bar but got a room on the 6th floor, just right above the bar on the 3rd floor. Rooms are not sound proof so we could hear the bar playing music till midnight plus we can hear sounds from the other room when walking in the corridor. On our last day we decided to have the hotel breakfast and the live meat grilling station started producing a lot of smoke, making the entire hotel lobby choked up with smoke due to poor ventilation. Had to shift outdoors to continue our meal. Location is also far from most attractions but it was not much of a problem since grab rides are easily available an affordable.

JJasonnXGood stay overall. Ando Hotel is very convenient, only about a 5-minute walk to Nagoya Hill Shopping Mall. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially with luggage.
The room was comfortable, but there was no hairdryer or fridge, which may be inconvenient for some guests. Cleanliness can also be improved, as there was dust on the toilet door.
Overall, good location and service, but basic amenities and housekeeping could be better.

SSumi BeenThe hotel is clean and comfortable. I really enjoyed my stay here. The lobby is very bright and spacious. There is also an Indomaret just around a 2-minute walk from the hotel, which is very convenient. Even though there are not many food places or restaurants nearby, it was not a problem for us since we were using a motorbike.

KKenny Noel LimHotel crew service and amenities were great! Not much around the hotel, but nothing a Grab can’t fix. Breakfast spread was amazing. Room and pool has great views. There’s also a supermarket right across the hotel lobby where the prices are marked up a fair bit, but convenient if you need anything quickly.
The rooftop bar had a great ambience, however, it can get a little noisy from the traffic - probably due to the hotel’s proximity to the road and also infrastructure.
But overall great stay!

CChengzhen YuRecently stayed at Montigo with my family as it was my boy’s birthday celebration, and wanted to share our experience.
Upon check-in, there was some issue between their system and my booking through the app, which took more than 30 minutes to resolve. Luckily the place wasn’t crowded, and my kids didn’t get bored while waiting.
One thing I liked was the baggage delivery service from place to place. Requests can be made through WhatsApp and their response was pretty fast, which made things quite convenient.
Currently, one of the restaurants is under renovation, so we had lunch at Tiigo. Personally, I didn’t really enjoy the food, but I have to give credit to the view — that was easily a 10/10.
As for the room, we had some issues with the bathroom design/drainage. Water in the bathing area didn’t drain properly and would get trapped at one side of the bathroom. The bathtub water would also flow into the toilet area, making the whole floor wet, especially when my kids were playing in the bathtub.
It became quite slippery and my kids actually took turns falling in the bathroom, which was a little concerning from a safety perspective.
On the positive side, because it was my boy’s birthday celebration, they were very thoughtful and kind enough to prepare birthday decorations and a cake for him, which was a really nice touch and made the experience feel special.
Overall, despite a few areas that could be improved, especially the bathroom setup in our room, we still enjoyed the stay and appreciated their service. I would still come back again, but probably not choose the same room.

EEnderrThe biggest issue was the constant stream of ants. Even though they were tiny, it was quite off-putting. I had my laptop on the desk, then moved it to the bed, and at least four ants were crawling on it. The beachfront villa was decent, but it faced west, so no sunrise views. The shuttle service was on-call and very prompt, but the location is quite remote. In the evenings, it's hard to get around, even with Grab, unless you're eating at the hotel. If you're looking to just stay put, it's a good choice. However, I enjoy having some barbecue at night, so two nights here was enough for me.
