We really enjoyed our little weekend at Hidden Rest. We stayed in the cozy little Romance cabin and felt like we had enough privacy. We never saw the hosts, which is kind of nice, although they were accessible if we needed them. The kitchen was stocked with necessities, but I'm glad we didn't bring food to cook because the appliances were older and small, so it wouldn't have been ideal. The location is great as it is central to both Pinetop/Lakeside and Show Low. It snowed while we were there and the entrance and exit were not plowed, so it would have made it difficult to move our car in and out, if it weren't for the back street. The beds were comfortable and it was nice having separation between the living room and sleeping area, as well as the warm fireplace. The one complaint I'd have is the hot tub, which is the whole reason we booked the cabin in the first place. The hot tub was so overly chlorinated that we could barely breathe inside of it. We could taste the chlorine in our throat and it burned our eyes too. Opening the window and turning down the jets helped only a little. I don’t know if it was a one-off situation or if that's how it normally is. Lastly, we went a little after Christmas, but there was still a Christmas
tree and decorations throughout the cabin which made it feel like being in a Hallmark movie. It was so cute! All in all there were goods and bads, but I would definitely give the cabins another chance.
