I've dealt with some unprofessional people running a business before but this is the absolute worst one! Last year, me and 3 of my friends decided to go Neighbourhood Weekender in Warrington, had a great time there, stayed in a budget hotel not far from Victoria Park, all was well! As soon as the festival ended, we decided to go again this year, booking a cheap budget hotel again, not far from the park. Baring in mind we booked this last September. To our delight, we get a message / voicemail earlier this week (2 WEEKS BEFORE WE GO) that cannot offer us the rooms anymore because was full when we initially booked. Firstly, how can the hotel be full when we booked 8 MONTHS AGO! *********** clearly said there were plenty of rooms available, we even had the option choose the types of rooms we could have. Secondly, is it just coincidence that hotels are charging £1000+ for rooms in Warrington for this weekend and Paddington House have suddenly cancelled our rooms? Have they cancelled our rooms so they can re list the rooms for well over what we paid for them, makes you think. By what the rest of the reviews are saying, I would not put it past them at all! Thirdly, when we received this pleasant message, the lead booker tried to get in touch with the hotel, they hardly replied to the messages and a lot of the time it was a automatic response, it seems like they knew what they were doing and didn't want to get involved once they got their rooms back! Terrible customer service, couldn't even get through on the phone. It really does make you think how this hotel is still going. Finally, this has ruined our whole weekend and have now cancelled plans going to the Festival. We could afford going because of the idea that the hotel is cheap and close to the ground. However, now they have cancelled, if we want to stay in Warrington, it is £1000+ which we cannot afford and would not pay even if we could. The next option is staying out of Warrington and getting taxi's in and out, we have priced these up with the closest hotel to Victoria Park and these are out of our price range too! This sudden cancellation has ruined one of the only things we were looking forward to this year. We will be going next year but I will tell you now, we WILL NOT BE USING THIS HOTEL. By the sounds of all of the reviews, it was a lucky escape. Please do not book with this hotel if you actually want to go somewhere for a break, but if you like to be disappointed last minute, go ahead! Terrible.

This is a joke..... right? How is this place allowed to exist? The heating is on full blast making the guests feel sick. The windows in my room don't open. The parking is ridiculous. I will be calling the inspectors tomorrow.

In very bad condition! Place genuinely needs knocking down at rebuilding, First night I was out next to what I can only describe as a couple of homeless, smoking in the room , music started at 1:30am and was still going at 6am when I left, after numerous complaints I was moved to another room which was a lot quieter but still in bad condition.

a sad old fifties sixties built block in unkempt gardens and broken up driveway, inside was worse with no bar or restaurant and the room we had no.7 had rusty bath with holes in the wall and the floor by the lavatory was loose and springy.l the room itself was freshly painted and the beds clean but the carpet was covered in all sorts stains and looked disgusting. We were so tired after a long drive that instead of leaving and trying to find somewhere else, we stayed and slept reasonably well. we left at 0630 glad to be be gone and never see the paddington house again. the receptionist was friendly as was the lady we saw when we left and i feel really sorry for them

12 showers would not be enough to wash away the trauma of this place. It is absolutely vile: it is dirty, dated and deathly. Very loud, incredibly dirty, and full of all sorts of bugs. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

This place used to be beautiful. It isn't any more. The double room I'd booked wasn't available for both days so they switched us to a room with 3 single beds (which we pushed together). The room was clean but bleak. There wasn't a curtain in the window so we used 1 of the duvets. Showering was a little tricky as the shower pointed at the wall, we think this was because there wasn't a shower curtain. There were many towels available, not big enough to fit around a normal sized adult, but plenty. The wifi didn't work so I went to reception. The guy said it must be ok because facebook worked on his phone. Had to go get my laptop to show him no connection and stand there till he did something. When he restarted the router the wifi worked. For a whole 24 hours. Then it was gone again. The photographs on hotel.com were obviously taken when the hotel had seen better days. Right now there aren't any pretty headboards or bedding and the grounds are overgrown and untidy. With a bit of renovation this place could be wonderful again. There's a nice pub across the road that serves food and a small local store close by. There are regular buses into town.

Booked a 'cheap and cheerful' hotel for somewhere to get our head down for a couple of nights as we were attending Neighbourhood Weekender, but this place is next level. Firstly, the staff are absolutely lovely, honestly we felt bad for them, they were so nice! We were told we had a room in one of their newer builds but as it was hot we could have a cooler room, but it wasn't one of the new ones, we took it thinking how bad could it be, the lady at reception said she had deep cleaned it herself and seemed quite proud of it, but it was so bad! The carpet was minging, the walls had stains on it, there was a divan bed and the drawers underneath were missing, the bathroom didn't even have a door, the bath itself was dirty and the shower curtain was mouldy, the bed was tiny and uncomfortable too. We didn't want to cause a fuss but knew we couldn't stay there even if it was just somewhere to sleep and have a wash, so we asked to move rooms, again, staff were lovely and 'upgraded' us to the 'honeymoon suite'...what an absolute joke it was, I pity anyone who thinks that's an idea of a honeymoon suite! The bed was a four poster on wheels with fairy lights wrapped round it, thankfully there was a bathroom door this time but the room itself was just as bad. Grotty carpets, rubbish under the bed, questionable sticky brown stuff in the drawers, a carrier bad over the fire alarm (secured with a manky old hair bobble). Again, the bed was a tiny double and so uncomfortable, and the duvet inside the cover was disgusting. The hotel itself was really run down, there were mattresses in public areas, loose tobacco all over the floor, and to top it off, guests smoking **** right at the main entrance! I know you get what you pay for but this was a shock, I can't believe places like this are allowed to operate. The first night was so bad that we looked for another hotel nearby, there weren't any, so we considered sleeping in the car the following night before deciding to drive home after our day at the festival, it meant we wouldn't get home til 2 or 3am but it was preferable to staying there another night. Thankfully my partner and I have a sense of humour and managed to make light of it, so it didn't ruin our weekend but it left us with memories to last a lifetime for all the wrong reasons!
