Definitely an amazing hotel. The hotel was worth every cent. I loved that I was able to get an international plug when I needed one and that the staff was always willing to help. The breakfast OMG!!! Never seen or tasted anything more delicious. The variety of food and service from staff was a absolutely exceptional !!!!

I stayed in room one, it is a fantastic room large bathroom area, decent view from the main bedroom which has a well equipped fridge and a balcony. It is well kept and clean. Service is excellent, it is quiet so you are getting a quiet night sleep.

Our stay at Southern Sun Maharani overlooking Durban North Beach was a delightful escape. Location is good enough if you are conducting business in and around the city of Durban and not expecting anything more than a very basic 3 star experience. Even so, the value for money is not great. Rooms are clean, but need a little TLC here and there. Colleagues said their beds were very uncomfortable, but I clearly got lucky, as my bed was very comfortable. If you order from the a la carte menu, be prepared to wait a long time for your food to arrive. Same applies to drinks orders. Seems as if they were still on skeleton staff post Covid, or maybe they were unprepared for the influx of people attending Indaba. IMO, City Lodge is much better value for money.

Booked 2 rooms for my wife and i and my dad over the christmas weekend. We stayed here 3 nights. Loved every moment of it. Breakfast was so awesome i didnt want to leave...spent an hour each day there.. my room was spotless and everything worked perfectly. The view from my room of the indian ocean is so good... i have stayed at this hotel many times over the years and i love that i am staying with someone i know, knowing what to expect , knowing, i will be greeted with a smile, knowing the awesome scent one gets when you enter the hotel lobby. Id like to thank 2 of my friends there natasha and bonga who are OUTSTANDING at what they do. I will be back end of april 2022.

This was my only sisters 70th birthday year and in the absence of us travelling overseas we booked a few local activities to make up for that. One of the highlights was an overnight package at SUNCOAST towers Hotel and her favourite overseas band SANAM tickets. Little did we know that this is what we would get. Currently they are advertising their sunscapes at R1045 per night so we were hopeful of a good room. She's 70 I'm 63 we had to walk a good 30 rooms down the passages right to the end as per diagram attached. The fourth floor and the view was the dumpster and back end of the hotel. The room dismally tiny with a sink and see through toilet and shower all in one square....ayyy hostel style or workers quarter style ..never again!!!!!! Sadly management didn't allow an upgrade they cited having no rooms available. I felt bad for only sister who comes a small mining town called Dannhauser in northern natal. I did not expect this kind of hotel accomodation Tsogo Sun. These rooms should be reserved for your gamblers who need a place to crash for a few hours....

The hotel is ok and everything but the parking is very small and limited I had to park my bakkie on the parking lot across the street but there is a guard 24hrs

Arrived at the place and did not get the room I booked they told me it was taken by other people. Our room had no mirror and no tv, the air-con was not working and it was cold. Checkout is very early 10:00 in the morning which wasn’t easy. Other than that I will give the place a 5:10 great for over night stay and leave in the morning.
