Amazing experience! This lodge is welcoming and accommodating, eco-friendly, and almost entirely self-sustaining. The property is massive with many tours to do, trails on-site, and many more experiences available nearby. All the staff, especially Osmani and Bernie, were extremely helpful and made this entire stay so much better! The villas were very comfortable, and the 3 restaurants were each unique and incredible. Highly recommend for anyone!

Blancaneaux Lodge is spectacular for many reasons. The staff were absolutely phenomenal, with their attention to service and insuring that your individual needs were being addressed related to activities, comfort and food. Please understand, this is not a tropical jungle, as it is more of a pine forest, thus don't expect tropical birds, plants, and or animals. If you see them it would be rare. The lodge is isolated within this forest, located next to a "stream" in the dry season, and a river in the wet season. The waterfall which is visible from many of the rooms is manmade, however you can do a fairly long hike to a very nice waterfall, called "Big Rock Falls". Almost all of the activities are off property, and take a bit of time to get to. I Would highly recommend going to the ATM caves. There are 3 restaurants on property, which are the only options for food. It is very nice that they are all good, with enough variety to satisfy most foodies. The room we stayed was one of the 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom villas, and it was great. The lodge is very intune with their environment, having their own garden, generate their own electricity, and water source. There is no air conditioning, nor blended drinks (all shaken), but that was not a problem for us even though the temperatures were in the 100 degrees fahrenheit. 3 - 5 day stays are probably tyhe best options.

Coming to Blancaneaux Lodge, you step into another world. Lush vegetation all around, thatched roof cabanas, beautiful dining spaces - and the best thing: the most wonderful people. Every staff person is welcoming, kind, and super accommodating. With only 20 or so dwellings, the small number of guests get VIP treatment. Our cabana with its thatched pitched roof was so lovely. All the furnishings were local and special. The food is delicious. The huge organic garden on site provides all the veggies for the fresh salads etc. I especially liked the Guatemalan food at Guatemalteca, one of the lodge's restaurants. We took a cooking class with one of the chefs, Mynor, who taught us so many things. The bird watching walk at sunrise was amazing. The guides know every bird and helped us find them in the trees. One of the guides, Geraldo, picked us up at the airport to transport us to the Lodge, and he is so knowledgeable - he gave us a detailed and interesting lesson in the history of Belize. He also was our guide on an excursion to the Mayan ruins of Caracol, and to the fascinating Barton Creek Cave. And on "down" days, we loved just lying around the pool under an umbrella. In short, we loved every minute.

This was second time I have been back to stay at this amazing place. Scenery is wonderful. Lodge is laid back yet has everything you need. Food choices are amazing every night. My son and myself enjoyed the wonderful service of Osmani. He looked after everything we could ask for. Arranging trips to setting up our dinners and ensuring wine was in room every night.

This hotel is amazing. Everyone on the staff is very friendly and will be calling you by name. The grounds are gorgeous, lots of birds, and lizards to see as well. The river or pool is a great way to cool off. No matter what place you choose to eat at you won’t be disappointed. I definitely would recommend staying here.

We just returned from a 4 night stay at Blancaneaux and it was perfection! We loved our family cabana, which was the perfect size for my family of 4 (ages 12 and 10). The property is gorgeous and the staff are so exceptionally friendly. The food was amazing and the lemongrass mojito was delightful. We were there over Easter and I cannot express how happy the manager made my kids. They loved the Easter Egg Baskets, the Easter Egg Hunt and the Easter Dinner Celebration. She really made the trip extra special. The attention to detail was above and beyond. We absolutely loved our stay at Blancaneaux and hope to return some day!

Bernie Matute and his team at Blancaneaux are absolutely fabulous! Their hospitality and attention to detail impressed us from the moment we arrived. This is the kind of lodge we love: cozy, personal and exquisite. The focus is on a personal experience where you are guest, not just a number as in many larger hotels and lodges. Take the time to hike down to Big Rock falls and visit the many Maya ruins in the area. Highly recommended!

We stayed 3 nights at Blancaneaux Lodge and it was excellent. The property is amazing and the bungalows are very nice. The food is good and the service is generally excellent (except in the bar where we experienced a rude barman). On the negative side they charge for everything and you cannot even get a decent coffee or soft egg at breakfast without paying extra.
