Great location and fantastic staff who work so hard. Prices at hotel for food and drink are just as cheap as outside and even cheaper in some cases. Fantastic pool and grounds which are well maintained, however the WiFi leaves a lot to be desired. That said I would definitely recommend this hotel.

OK This is a 2 star in Africa so do not expect much ,rooms are generally shabby with basic needs met no tv ,hairdryer or other items u may be used to in European hotels. Bathrooms are the same there are issues with towels frequently not being not available . Breakfast is poor but on the whole edible most of the cups and plates are chipped or cracked take your own mug . Also take your own glass as they seem in short supply at the bar .Biting insects are also in plentiful supply so bring tropical insect spray On the upside most of the staff are great, happy to help and point you in the right direction . It is placed in a great location near bars and restaurants and on the beach Local guides at the gate have good deals on trips out, we travelled with Malcom Lamin who was excellent and I am happy to recommend him The hotel pool was also very good not one that's full with a few people in it LOOK OUT FOR HIDDEN EXTRAS do be careful its easy to send more on extras than to get a better hotel in the first place A/C is £10 a day ,fridge £15 a week ,safe £8 a week and you will need to add the cost of a couple of breakfasts as its a poor breakfast in the hotel

Don’t expect much from the rooms but the staff are very friendly the pool and surroundings are superb coming back next year for sure, classed as 2 star but for the real Gambian experience I’ll give it a five, bars and restaurnts right outside the door

When we arrived we was given a room in A block , sink hanging off the wall , toilet loose . We went to reception in the morning and was given the key to B3 . Slightly better room , yes dated and bed side lights hanging loose but the room was clean no mould like first room . That said the gardens are beautiful and the cleaners and gardener are lovely . The pool has broken tiles in and are covered with a bigger tile that moves about . The staff are very friendly and kind telling us they work 12 hour shifts 6 days a week for 3500 dalshi and its the worse paid hotel to work for . This hotel needs some money spending on it as very wore out . Breakfast is terrible , broken cups chipped plates and terrible food ( don't bother with it ) 2 eggs 2 tin sausage and onions , most days no bread or fruit . Would I stay here again NO booking for senegambia hotel next year .

I would not stay here again if it was free , The worst hotel We have stayed in we were put in block b I did ask for a room with air conditioning but the Manager said he did not and would not have any air conditioning rooms for the whole of our stay , when we got to our room it was dirty cluttered the toilet seat was hanging off there was a huge crack in the sink which leaked when you ran water , there was a cochroach on the floor , we had no towels when we arrived which I asked for 3 times still no towels , the manager was very rude but the rest of the staff were really nice and helpful , the morning after we went to the meeting with the TUI rep to ask her if she could help us to move hotels she was not helpful at all and seemed more bothered about keeping the manger happy she also said that the manager had said we were slagging the hotel off which we were just pointing out the issues that we had which were all true and justified , we decided because we didn’t want to stay there we went to stay with some friends of ours for a few days and we were going on a trip for a couple of days then would return for the rest of the holiday but kept the key because we had paid for it we returned after a week and our room had been re let my partner asked the people in the room how long they had been there and they said 6 days so they had let our room out the they same day we had gone to our friends , my partner then said to the manager why have you let my room out when we have paid for it the manager said you had checked out which wasn’t true because we still had the key to our room one of our Gambian friends went with us and the manager called hi a f…… black slave that shows what a horrible person he is as he is Gambian as well

What a great place. Beach one side main ***** the other. Beautiful grounds, pool area and two bars. Staff are wonderful can not do enough for you. We stayed in a standard room which was basic, but cleaned every day and towels changed every day and with a great shower. Breakfast was limited but ok, if you want full English or more right opposite is GTS who have a fab choice at really good prices. Decent meals at the hotel restaurant with plenty of choice and decent prices. Go B&B to many decent restaurants outside on the ***** - Scala being a favourite closely followed by Ginger Spice. Don’t miss the afternoon visits from both grey and red monkeys! All in all a fabulous time had by all of us we will definitely be back

I'll start with the good points and there are quite a few. Staff are so friendly and welcoming (apart from one who I'll come to later) The rooms are clean and that's about all I can say about them, Very old and scruffy, wardrobe doors hanging off. Paintwork disgusting. Doors that don't lock The cleaner Khaddi was wonderful and did her best with what she had. Good luck with getting a sunbed round the pool as staff are allowing guests to put their towels out the night before. One morning I couldnt sleep so went for a wander at 5am, every parasol was already taken. The monkeys who run around the hotel were a bonus for me and loved watching them playing and jumping on tables to steal food at breakfast time. Breakfast that's another story. Pathetic is the best way to describe it. Unless you like sausage and the occasional boiled egg don't bother. Reception staff on the whole were helpful all except for one little man who needs to go on a customer service course. You can't miss him he wears a blue shirt and is incredible rude to everyone. Lamin the manager is lovely. You pay for every little extra that most hotels provide in with the cost, fridge, air con, fan, safe. We worked it out that it would have been cheaper to stay at a different hotel where these things are all included. The restaurant was constantly running out of things like soft drinks. Anyway that's my opinion of this hotel. I would come back to
