The Florentine

Great Location & great parking , but overpriced. Shower small,no shower cap,no creams , room not cleaned , I stayed 2 nights !

We had a one night stay here to meet up with family. We ate at the hotel and found the food, service and staff all very good. There’s some negative feedback on here, but we enjoyed our stay, the room was nice and spacious (we stayed in Dexter), the shower was great, the room was clean, bed was comfy, the homemade biscuits were a lovely addition. Yes you have to pay extra £10 for the breakfast but it comes with fruit juice and hot drinks so we didn’t see that as being an issue. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks to the team for looking after us so well.

Great location, with lovely views. Lovely staff who were very helpful. Has the potential to be a brilliant hotel but there are issues that need addressing. We paid £140 room rate for the night. It was a big room with lots of space, but it is overpriced given the standard of the fixtures and fittings. Quirky is fine, but at that price, it is reasonable to expect a certain quality. On the positive side, the DAB radio and the tea/coffee/biscuits were all 1st class, but on the negative side, the shower unit was functional at best (it is a big bathroom with loads of space for a walk in shower or a bath) and the both shower heads (drencher and hose heads) had significant amounts of mould on them. We were aware that breakfast was not included and billed on top of the £140 rate for the room, and there would have been no issue with that if the room had lived up to expectations. Breakfast was ok if underwhelming, again from a price/quality perspective. It was only when we logged into the hotel WiFi that we realised the hotel was part of a pub/hotel chain (Marstons) and this became apparent when once breakfast was served. Standard mass catering produce rather than locally sourced quality items especially If you’re going to charge £10 for a cooked breakfast, and £9 for pancakes, given the speed they came out and their chewy consistency, were clearly pre-made and heated up in the microwave. With some attention to detail, this hotel could have a real wow factor, and then price/value for money would not be a factor.

Beautiful hotel, warm and friendly welcome with a real homely feel. Room Limousin was lovely & warm, cosy and a really comfortable bed. English Breakfast was tasty well presented and all served with a smile. The best bit was that if visit Sheffield again I could bring my dog too!

A good car park and a friendly welcome. All of the staff were very helpful. Our room was fine, albeit a little old fashioned, but the shower room was extremely cold, despite the (small) heated towel rail. We ate there both evenings and the food was good. Didn’t have breakfast as I thought I’d booked B and B but it seemed that I hadn’t booked breakfast, and it would have been a bit pricey to pay for it as an “afterthought” so we went elsewhere.

We've visited quite a few times. The rooms are always immaculate and cosy. The food and drinks are always well prepared and tasty. A big fan of the Sunday roasts! The cocktails they offer are high quality. The team here are super firnedly and always go the extra mile to make your time special. I highly recommend and will be back soon

Great place to stay - lovely and warm room well equipped with coffee machine and extra touches like chocolate cookies and bottles of still and sparkling water. Really good value and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. We had a meal off the early evening menu and had breakfast and were really impressed with the quality and value of the food. We will definitely be back.

Very pleased with my stay at the Florentine. The weather outside was terrible but my room was warm and cosy as well as being spotless. It was a very nice touch having the radio on in the room when I arrived, playing Christmas music in the background; that and the thought put into the room furnishings made me smile and immediately feel relaxed after a challenging drive to Sheffield (thanks to Storm Pia!). The chocolate chip cookie was also a nice touch with the tea and coffee facilities and very welcome. Really loved having a bathrobe available and appreciated having a lovely hot shower. Have already booked to stay again in January.

What an amazing place to stay!! Friendly staff, great food and an lovely night sleep 😊 would definitely stay again!! The freshly made pizza is a must with a wood fired oven it tastes amazing! We have stayed here before and just had to go back. If you’re looking for a great stay… you’ve found it!
