The Lodge

Went there to celebrate our anniversary. We really enjoyed the food, bathing in the rain and relax lounge. Everything was amazing.

The place is a bit rundown. The pool is okay, but that’s the only thing there is. No sauna, no bubble pool. The room was tiny and had no place to hang clothes, not even a coat hanger. What was worst was the food. They pride themselves with a fiv meal menu, but they had so little food and so weird! One dish was smoked eel, and it was the size of my finger nail. Another dish was bread on stick with some garlic butter. The main course was duck and it was a bit bigger than the eel, like the size of one finger, but it was hard and not tasty. I was so hungry and frustrated. I went to bed hungry and promised myself not to return ever again. Save your money and go somewhere else. That is unless you’re into the #sliding cube#type of dinner.

By recommendation, we found this hidden gem, which is a romantic little place on the hill in a forest with a paved way leading you to Heaven. Lying in the soft pillows in the coaches facing the infinity pool and the landscape around while enjoying the good lunch is amazing. 5 course dinner in the evening was also fantastic and the interior is just super authentic hawaiian style.

Extremely beautiful location and surroundings and a lovely cozy little resort. Nice a**osphere and relaxing silence. Beautiful view from the suite. Friendly staff and a good restaurant and lunch buffet. Nice walks

The facilities and dinner did not exceed our expectations. The 5 course dinner was very dull and lacked creativity og variation. The room was impractical decorated. It wasn’t possible to turn down the heat, the ventilation in the bathroom was very noisy and ran all night, and there were nowhere to sit and play a boardgame etc. except for the bed. But there was a useless fan and floor lamp randomly placed in the tiny hut. Calling a tiny heated pool, sauna and an ice bath a spa, that is a joke. We were 12 people that squeezed into the pool and more coming. Not very calming, charming or romantic Breakfast was great and the staff was really friendly.

Very cosy hotel, surroundings and a nice spa. Cosy rooms, good bathrooms, but a little too narrow between the shower and the basin. My room was close to the spa and there was probably an outdoor loudspeaker nearby from which you could hear music from 06:30 AM to 11:00 PM, which doesn’t work for a light sleeper. Comfortable beds and good enough breakfast

My boyfriend surprised me with a day at the spa at the Lodge for our anniversary. We had the spa ritual package, plus 50 min full body massage each. We decided on the day to also book a table at the restaurant for the 5 course dinner. I don't have a lot of experience with luxurious resorts, but I travel a lot and I know a good experience when I have one. This was such an experience. The staff were very accommodating and kind, and the vibe was perfect for a tranquil, yet comfortable getaway in the middle of nowhere. Sometimes when a venue has a Hawaiian theme, it can easily get "kitchy" and a bit excessive, with costumes and flowers and tiki-themes basically shoved down your throat. However, this was not the case at the Honulele spa. The spa had a lot of classy, hawaiian design touches without overdoing it, which I really appreciated. The whole spa had an overall serene and calm vibe. The only negative thing I have to say is that the staff at times could be quite loud when talking between each other, which broke some of the calm a**osphere, but to be fair I am not sure if they saw me and perhaps thought the whole main area was empty. I understand the staff's need to talk between each other, and it was a minor detail that did not disturb my overall experience. The masseuse was very friendly yet professional. The whole ritual experience was intense, and fun! I especially appreciate the first part with a lot of activity from the participants with the cleansing rituals and the VERY intense experience of a steam sauna! My boyfriend is a rather large fan of different types of saunas and he was very happy with the experience as well. I have read some other reviews that were disappointed with the spa 'only' consisting of two pools and one sauna, but I'd say it really depends on the expectations and what experience one is after. Personally for us, this was the perfect place to wind down and get some time off of hectic everyday life, being able to comfortably sit down in a relaxing environment, perhaps to read a book or to meditate. The infinity pool was moderately sized, but with people constantly going in and out of it was never full for a long time, so we still managed to get ourselves a moment together at the edge, overlooking the snowy landscape. Lastly the dinner was very rewarding and a perfect finish. We had the vegetarian menu, and were surprised with some ingredients and flavor combinations we had yet to try. Overall this was a very pleasant experience, we are very thankful for the wonderful service, and we will be happy to stay here again, hopefully overnight!

My family and I had booked a spa experience followed by dinner. It was much better than expected. Professional staff and both location and environment was very much to our liking. As it was December and the days are short we did not take a walk in the forest but rest assured that when spring comes we will be back b The 5 course dinner was of Michelin star quality. Book early and enjoy your experience

The venue, the SPA area and the location is fantastic - only 1½ hour drive from our home in Denmark. Also the 'american style' of the lodge is just great and both the outside and inside arrangements are good.
