We stayed here for grad weekend as it’s always the case that everything in and around Oxford is booked solid. We were lucky to get a room here, and for that, we are glad. 10 minute drive to Oxford-nice! We got a Lodge room overlooking the lake. The room was decent and clean, big TV, and it was obvious the bathroom had been updated. The reason for only 3 stars is the smell, and we debated on even 2 stars. Unfortunately, the hallways and room just smelled bad-very musty and old. We stayed in there only for sleeping and to quickly get ready each morning, as the smell deterred us from wanting to be there any longer than we had to be. The park and grounds are beautiful, and especially with the room update efforts, I do feel badly that the smell is such a detractor from this being a place I can recommend, but it is.

I spent four wonderful and memorable days at Hueston Woods Lodge. My wife was unable to attend so I went solo. The experience was superb. The hotel rooms have all been updated. The rooms are absolutely beautiful. Kudos to the contractors. For dinner one evening, I ordered the Lodge Burger (via the bar) along with fries. I have said it before and I will say it again. Their burger is one of the best around. My thanks to Danielle, Brian, Zach, and Brooke for making my stay a most memorable one. My wife and I will return for additional stays during the summer. Best to the entire staff.

We ate at the restaurant for dinner. The service was not good. I ordered a draft beer and got bottled. My daughter got my side dish. We had to call our server over when we needed something. The tap water tastes like poison. We returned on Saturday 2/24 for lunch. We waited 10 minutes at the table and we're never greeted so we left. We went back because we were going to have a rehearsal dinner there and wanted to see if the service was still bad. It was. The food is mediocre also. We won't be back.

We rented a pet friendly cabin (28) for 2 nights over the Thanksgiving weekend , as we did in 2021, so we knew what to expect. Nothing fancy, one room cabin with a serviceable but tiny bathroom. We love the coziness, the woodsy setting, the gas fireplace. The upholstery on the sofa and chair is tired and dirty. We covered both with extra linens. The kitchen was a disaster. The ***** behind the tiny stove was filthy,the refrigerator froze all of our food- eggs, creamer, cheese etc, and there was a mishmash of dishes, glassware and cookware that was pitiful. Maybe a system to consider is a box of decent kitchen ware at check in, to be returned at check out? We understand that it’s a state department run facility , but for $300 a night ( with a discount ), surely there could be some updates. We will visit the park again , but will stay local and not in a cabin or the lodge until ( or if ) if the accommodations are commensurate with the cost.

Lodge at popular southwest Ohio state park to undergo $3.3M in upgrades Major upgrades are coming to the lodge at one of the region’s most popular state parks. Hueston Woods State Park, which spans Butler and Preble counties, will receive $3.3 million in state funding for upgrades, including replacing the roof, exterior work and minor structural repairs. Located five miles north of Oxford at 5201 Lodge Road in the village of College Corner, the Hueston Woods State Park lodge is situated on a bluff overlooking 625-acre Acton Lake. It opened July 8, 1967. The lodge provides recreational activities, primarily dining and lodging, with access to outdoor facilities to the park users and the public in general. It sits within the state park, a 3,000-acre outdoor recreation property that features cabins, campsites, canoeing, fishing, fossil hunting, golfing, hiking, paintball, disc golf, miniature golf and an 18-hole championship golf course.

My wife and I spent four wonderful days at Hueston Woods Lodge at the end of June. As always, the experience was outstanding. Hueston Woods Lodge is a magical place. The staff is outstanding. They are professional and welcoming. Our room was extremely clean and comfortable. Much of our stay was spent at the pool and hiking the trails. We had dinner one evening at the restaurant. Our meals were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend eating there. Overall, another wonderful experience. We plan on returning twice in August. Thank you for another great stay. We stayed in a cabin but had breakfast at lodge. I can’t comment on lodge rooms. Cabin was clean and spacious but not fancy. You felt like you were in middle of woods but had 3 tvs and Wi-Fi. We had deer outside our window in the morning. Very pretty surrounding as it was fall. Fire pit outside. One night it was cool and fireplace was not working. They showed up within minutes and fixed fireplace..this was 10 pm at night! Lodge is beautiful and nostalgic on a lake. Breakfast buffet was wonderful. Front desk were so nice. I was impressed and enjoyed my stay.

We loved the restaurant in the lodge. The food had great presentation, was delicious & not too expensive. The atmosphere was fantastic with great views of the lake. The cleaning staff, maintenance & follow up by management to fix problems is less than desirable. Our room had an electrical outlet in the bathroom not working, Toilet would not stop running after it was flushed, shower drain not draining so when one took a shower you ended up standing in 3-5” of water. The shower curtain was ripped & had mold on the bottom. The windows by the elevator on the 3rd floor in the hallway had spider webs with spiders, it definitely looked as though they had not been cleaned for years. We reported our room issues to the desk, they did not apologize or say they would pass the message on to fix before the next guest arrived. We emailed the manager who didn’t address the issue just sent a generic thank you for visiting here is a 20% off next time you visit. We will not be staying there again.

Love Hueston Woods. My wife and I have been coming for a number of years. However, because of previous commitments, she was unable to attend. So, I decided to go solo. I spent four days and three nights reading by the pool, exploring the lodge, and walking the trails. I had dinner at the Smokehouse Restaurant one evening, and their legendary pizza on another. As always, it was a magical experience. The staff is simply outstanding. They add positively to the overall experience. Hueston Woods is highly recommended in my book.
