Guest UserI have very mixed feelings about this hotel. It really depends on the room you get. I was initially put in a room that, as I later found out, desperately needed renovations. The air conditioning started leaking during the night, with water dripping right onto the bed. Everything in the room looked old, and the AC unit itself was ancient. The next morning, I was moved to a completely different room. The air conditioning and TV were all new, and the room was much cleaner and more modern overall. Why couldn't they have just put me in a room like that to begin with? They just had to give me a worse one first. I demanded compensation in the form of breakfast for the inconvenience, and they very reluctantly provided it in the end. It seems like the staff tries, but it all feels a bit disingenuous.

I recently stayed at the Colombo Court Hotel, and while it offers good value and excellent rooms, the hospitality felt a bit rigid for a tourist.
First, the bright spots: The room itself was fantastic. It was large, impeccably clean, and featured great-quality sheets with plenty of excellent pillows. The bathroom was stocked with plush towels and quality toiletries. Since I arrived fighting a cold, the great selection of coffee and teas in the room was an absolute lifesaver.
However, the customer service left a lot to be desired. I arrived at noon after an all-night flight. Even though it's the low season and the hotel felt completely empty, the front desk rigidly enforced the 2:00 PM check-in time. They didn't even offer an early check-in for a fee. Instead, I was told I could wait out in the heat by the pool for two hours.
There was also a strange billing issue at check-in. The front desk asked me for a $43 payment, even though I had already prepaid in full. I had to firmly show them my paperwork showing the booking platform's virtual credit card payment before they backed off. They didn't bring it up again, but it felt a bit like a shakedown attempt.
Finally, my booking confirmation explicitly stated checkout was between 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM. Yet, at 11:30 AM, staff knocked on my door telling me checkout was actually at 11:00 AM. Even after showing the front desk my confirmation, they insisted their rule was 11:00 AM.
The staff was always friendly and polite, but it felt like they were serving their rulebook rather than their guests. The property is very clean but has much more of a business-traveler vibe than a welcoming tourist destination. I have another reservation here for my return leg, but I’ll be canceling it to stay somewhere else.

jamesbecca100I would not stay here again due to the noise levels into the evenings which prevented me from sleeping. Its a shame as other than the noise its a lovely Hotel, with friendly staff and its very clean and modern. I have raised the issue with the hotel (as well as raising when I was there) but am yet to hear anything back

I stayed three nights at Fairway Colombo and the hotel delivered a modern, efficient experience. The highlight is the use of robot technology for deliveries, which adds convenience and consistency to the service. Check-in was smooth, and staff were courteous and well-organized throughout the stay.
The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, with reliable Wi-Fi and all essential amenities. Housekeeping was punctual and unobtrusive. The hotel’s location near the Dutch Hospital area made it easy to access dining and attractions on foot.
Overall, Fairway Colombo provides a smart, contemporary stay with good service and a unique tech-focused touch. A strong option for both business and leisure travelers looking for convenience and modern comfort.

Ann_shineWe checked into a twin room, and everything from the mattress to the pillows was incredibly comfortable; it felt like sleeping on a cloud. However, toiletries were only provided for one person, and there were only two large towels. There was also black mold in the corners of the shower.
Healthy options for breakfast were limited, consisting mostly of pastries, pancakes, and other sweet items. The breakfast to-go bag we received was equally disappointing, containing only four pastries and four small pieces of fruit.
The gym was very small, the air conditioning was broken, and it was very stuffy. While guests received a discount at the bar, an additional 30% for service charges and tips was added to the bill. Our key cards frequently stopped working, forcing us to visit the front desk repeatedly for assistance from a technician.

I recently stayed at Anarva Hotel and had an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff went out of their way to ensure I felt welcome and comfortable. The rooms were modern, spacious, and impeccably clean, with beautiful decor that added to the relaxing atmosphere. The amenities, especially the spa and pool area, were top-notch, providing the perfect place to unwind.
The hotel’s location was ideal, offering easy access to nearby attractions, yet tucked away enough to feel peaceful and private. I also have to mention the dining experience—delicious food with a great variety of local and international options. Every meal was a treat!
Overall, Anarva Hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable stay. I will definitely be returning on my next visit!

A good value hotel .
Nice pool on the roof with a nice bar.
It's in a very convenient location, near the Bambalapitiya railway station and some decent shops.
Unfortunately the service was poor , they would take the towels away whilst cleaning the room and not replace them, I had to keep chasing the cleaners and reception to get towels . The balcony door had no lock or latch in it so it was open all the time and at night time that let the mosquitos in .
Overall though it was value for money .

We booked this hotel for a half-day stay to shower and escape the heat before our flight, so we didn't spend the night. The hotel is interesting because of its history, especially the fact that Chekhov once stayed there. You can see antique telephones, the general ambiance, and a freight elevator since the regular ones weren't working. And that's about it. In our room, there was mold on the walls and ceiling, and the shower was old. However, the air conditioning worked, and we were able to shower. It's worth a stop for a short layover or to experience the atmosphere, but I wouldn't recommend staying for an extended period. Perhaps the suites are better, but something tells me they probably aren't.

Excellentw location next to many great restaurants including Chilax. Nice uninterrupted view of the Indian ocean. Good aircon and ample hot water in the bathroom. Good WiFi throughout. It’s a bit loud from the passing trains even after the windows are closed. Rooftop view of the Indian ocean is really relaxing. Staff is nice and relaxed. We recommend.
