The hotel is right on Kamala Beach, situated along the beachfront road. It's very convenient to find restaurants and massage parlors nearby. The other side of the hotel faces the beach, offering beautiful views and a refreshing sea breeze all day. There's also a swimming pool, and you can easily access the beach for a swim.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The swimming pool was clean and well-maintained, and it was lovely to relax there after a day out. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and Kevin kindly helped us book Phi-phi island trip through the hotel, for which we also received a 10% discount. Everyone was genuinely keen to assist whenever we needed anything. Overall, we had a great experience and would happily stay here again!

Very elegant hotel indeed. Convenient to restaurants, pharmacies, markets, 7/11 and all. Walking distance to Patong beach. Enjoyed my stay with a very comfortable and clean room, accommodating staff and a beautiful view from the rooftop pool. Highly recommended!!

This isn't our first time at the hotel, but this stay truly surprised us with the improved service, cleanliness, and atmosphere—so much has changed! The woman who cleaned our room was an absolute gem 👏🏻. We always choose this hotel for its great location; everything is close by. The staff here are wonderful ❤️

The hotel was alright, but not as outstanding as I'd imagined. It felt a bit old, and there was some unknown noise disrupting my rest (it seemed to be construction behind the hotel, though not very loud). Most of the staff were friendly and enthusiastic (especially one named LID). The hotel is about a 3-minute walk from the nearest 7-Eleven and a 13-minute walk from the beach. There are many restaurants and a night market nearby.

The hotel fully lives up to its star rating. It's clean, and they really keep up with it. Rooms are cleaned and towels replaced daily. The pool is wonderful. The breakfasts, it felt like, were mainly geared towards Indian tourists. What was missing in the room, though, was a dental kit with toothpaste and toothbrushes.

Hello. This hotel and the area are for travelers seeking peace and solitude. I admit, I skimmed through the reviews, saw the water slides, and quickly booked. My child initially rejected everything – the room, the pool, and the fact that there was no one around. Indeed, there are very few Russians here, almost none. This didn't bother me, but my daughter was very upset. Later, she started playing and made friends with children from other countries. They somehow communicated with gestures and simple phrases like ”stop” and ”go.” It just goes to show, one really needs to learn languages. I saw a boy her age from China (8-9 years old) who immediately and easily befriended boys from New Zealand, speaking excellent English. There are pools, and the slides were working. The hotel is very secluded and quiet. The beach is across the road, but it was off-season, and the waves were strong enough to knock you down and pull you into the sea. The breakfast was excellent, truly wonderful. I'd stay there just for the breakfasts. The cleaning, however, was terrible. We'd return to the room to find hair and dead ants still in the same spots. Of course, the rooms are very old. Read other reviews carefully; some even have photos. But personally, I really enjoyed the quietness of the hotel and the attentive front desk staff. By the way, I left Stephen King's ”The Shining” on the shelf. It felt perfectly fitting – a half-empty hotel on the outskirts. 😃 If I ever want solitude and a break from noise, I would choose this hotel again. In any other case, no. We spent a fortune on taxis. It was far and expensive to go out and come back. Don't be like me. Read reviews and information about the area carefully. 😃

We stayed here for five nights and I'm so glad I chose this resort. There are three resorts on the island, each with a beach, but Banraya has the most atmospheric resort vibe due to its unique landscape. Every corner is picturesque, and it feels more interesting than the other two resorts. The beach in front of The Racha is the most beautiful on the island, but if we had stayed there, we definitely wouldn't have explored other beaches, and we would have missed out on Banraya's stunning scenery. I'm so glad I picked this place. We could walk to The Racha's beach or other beaches, it only took about ten minutes. We could also add the front desk's WeChat to have them send a motorbike to pick us up anytime for a very cheap price of 50 baht. Of course, you could also rent a motorbike for 500 baht a day. Regarding hygiene, I think it was decent. The bedding was clean. Every day after check-out, the staff even dried the pillows outdoors for a few hours. As for facilities, it definitely can't compare to The Racha. After all, this is an outlying island. Hotels on the main island of Phuket certainly have much better facilities, but that's understandable. At night, peacocks would call outside our window, which was very entertaining. Sometimes they even strolled right in front of our room. The restaurant service was truly excellent. The young man at the restaurant front desk spoke very good Chinese and seemed to be well-versed in Chinese etiquette and hospitality. He was always very enthusiastic whenever we went, and the other staff were also very friendly. I am very satisfied and feel I made the best choice. After five days here, I felt very relaxed and happy! As an additional note, we also visited several islands near Phuket, and the water at Racha Island was the most beautiful. I really recommend staying on Racha Island for a few days.

Spectacular views of the sea from the rooms make this resort a winner for feelings of peace and solitude. My room included a ceiling fan and a separate rain shower next to the bath tub. A massive free breakfast buffet starts the day for most guests, with changing options on a daily basis. Before breakfast I walked down the steep driveway to the private beach to swim either in the sea or the small pool next to it. At 7 am there is nobody around. One morning I took out a kayak (one hour free) which had stunning panoramic views. There are two swimming pools by the resort’s main building and both are delightful for swimming and relaxing. Nothing much to do in the evening and the TV channel selection could be expanded with movie channels (e.g., HBO, Cinemax), educational channels like Discovery Asia, and nature channels like BBC Earth and Love Nature. I partook in a 90 minute herbal pack massage which was a bit pricy but very professional. Both lunch and dinner menus have sufficient variety of dishes and food quality was good. Staff were always helpful. In summary, Supalai Scenic Bay Resort is a wonderfully serene experience at a very reasonable room price.          

Overall, I had a pleasant stay at Sunset Beach Resort. The facilities are a bit dated, but they are well maintained, which I truly appreciate. You can tell the resort takes good care of what it has. The location is generally fine, though the beach directly in front of the resort isn’t the best. Patong Beach is about a 300+ meter walk away, which is manageable, just something to note for guests who expect a beachfront swimming spot. The only part that slightly affected our experience was the shuttle service — not a big issue, but a memorable one. On 1 February, around 5:30 PM, we informed the front desk that we needed the 6:30 PM shuttle to Bangla Street. We even confirmed it twice and were told to sit and wait, as the staff would notify us when the shuttle arrived. We made sure they knew exactly where we were waiting. By 7:00 PM, after no update, we went back to the front desk only to be told that the shuttle had already left. The staff apologized and admitted she had overlooked us, and arranged the next shuttle. Nothing serious — just an unexpected extra 30 minutes of “resort relaxation time” we hadn’t planned for. 😊 Still, aside from this hiccup, the stay was comfortable, and with a bit more attention to shuttle coordination, the experience would be even better.
