Excellent value! Having been shocked to discover on arrival that my hotel in Ravda was permanently closed, I booked the Ivana Palace based largely on its price/value balance. It worked out at less than £17 a night. I certainly was not disappointed. Seamless early check-in on arrival. Allocated a very clean comfortable triple family room with balcony and pool view. No kettle but one can be provided for a deposit. A good breakfast was included with plenty of choice. Reception were always helpful and answered any questions. Pool area not too busy so spare loungers if required. The overwhelming majority of guests were on packages and did not use the hotel restaurant for dinner instead using the popular Friends cafe at the hotel opposite. (Also recommended for quality and good service!)

Just returned from a 2-week stay at the Glarus hotel. 2 adults and 1 child We stayed bed and breakfast. Food was OK, nothing special, and pretty much the same every day. If you didn't go down early enough, then you missed out. Especially on things like pancakes. The pool is long and narrow and is really cold. It's shallow at the steps but then goes quite deep, and you can't stand up anywhere. sunbeds were a nightmare. There is not alot of them.Sunbeds were all taken by 7.30, with no one to be seen till around lunchtime. The rooms were dated but clean. You can upgrade on arrival for a sea view, which we did, which cost us just under £100 for the 2 weeks. The view is amazing, and we thought this was worth it. Although you only get the morning sum on the balcony, if you like a beer on the balcony in the sun before you go out, the rooms at the back are probably better. The location was perfect, just a 10-minute walk to Flower Street. We were only disturbed 1 night from the Kimbo bar, which was directly across from the hotel. The music didn't stop for 24 hours, and they seemed to turn the volume up at 6 am. But like I said, this only happened once and we kind of expected it at somepoint.Staff were OK, apart from the cleaners nobody looked or said anything to you, not even a smile. All in all, we had a great time. Probably wouldn't return to the Glarus because of the food and pool situation.

Where to start ? First of all it's our fourth travel to Bulgaria but the first to Sunny Beach (in the past we've stayed in Golden Sands). My opinion stays, in this country, seaside related, almost everything is better that in Romania. ------------------- THE GOOD: ------------------- The hotel staff is permanently adapting and improving, I'm glad that I'm constantly seeing better english speakers as the years go by and their hospitality skills are also improving. Very polite, very patient, they don't reach the hand for tips and do not interfere when there's no need too. The CLEANLINESS ! Oh my God, that place was sparkling clean ! All of it: from the gardens to the pools to the rooms and all the surroundings. There wasn't a single straw / piece of plastic/paper anywhere. The grass is permanently trimmed and everything is so tidy held in good order. Quality: everything from lobby furniture to pool amenities to even the beach's lounges and umbrellas is sturdy and clean. The Internal Restaurants: The main restaurant is very clean and tidy, the food is very diverse, although at times it seems that it's more made for the vegetarians, but that's a good thing. Meat products aren't as plenty as the veggies, but nothing to complain here, the diversity is so huge that I myself, a convinced meatatarian, even decided to try the veggie delicacies which were fantastic. The pork minced meat is kinda funny in taste because they use some condiments I'm not used to; but it's a culture thing, they aren't the only ones to cook it like this. The pizzas were absolutely fabulous and the beef stew / pulled rabbit and pulled lamb were absolutely fabulous. Great variety for breakfast, for absolutely every taste. And the sweets: absolutely magnificent. I can't say that I have a sweettooth myself, but all my friends were utterly impressed by the sweets. The ASIAN Restaurant: I simply had the most exquisite and beautiful experience there. It's completely separate from the main restaurant as concept and design and food quality. The courses I've had there, the bottled wine and the service were from a completely other world. Best sushi. Best salmon avocado. Best duck. Best everything, the ASIAN Restaurant is a MUST ! They also have a barbecue one with some kind of american specialities, but it didn't quite catch our interest. BEACH BAR / LOBBY BAR / POOL BAR They have 24h service at the lobby bar which is a must. Place gets crowded, everyone wants drinks, water and such. The Juices are mediocre at best but they at least have some alcoholic drinks in order. Teachers was the single whiskey brand to be recognizable, as the rest were probably the cheapest in range. Their luck is that I've had worse in Turkey at a much higher rated hotel. They have a beach bar. They serve ice cold sodas in all varieties and beer. Great touch. The beach is also superb and clean, but if you want room to sit you have to get there until 09:30 or else it's full. ------------------------------

Fully air conned Spacious rooms Our kids had a full size adjoining room which was just amazing and u don’t get that a lot … It was cleaned often and came with hairdryer …although if u have long hair probably best to let it dry naturally or you will be there a while! Air con worked a treat Beds were comfy enough Showers - power showers so another great bonus to this place Room wise … 5/5 Food is your standard all inclusive stuff..not great …plenty to get …but barley warm and it was the same thing pretty much every day. The pool bar did chips, pizza, hot dogs and burgers, kids pretty much just ate out of here all day as it seemed fresher then the main restaurant . Plenty of ice creams / lollies etc Without the pool bar for food we would have gone hungry or just eaten out. Food wise …2/5 Drinks Standard all inclusive Wine was actually ok and beer seemed fine Didn’t try the spirits so not sure about the “watered down comments” Coke, sprite, water readily available for kids etc ..can’t complain on this one Drinks wise …4/5 Entertainment Yer good But our kids are 9 and. 13 so not much for them I felt it was more adult based then for kids They couldn’t join in on ping pong, water polo etc because they had to be over 18? But we’re too old to sit colouring in? The animation team were friendly enough and tried to get everyone involved but as said previously not a lot to do for older kids as they were too young to join in a lot of stuff Entertainment for our aged kids …2/5 Pool Really good We didn’t struggle for lounges etc Lovely clean pool, nice and big but as always these pools are freezing ..once your in though your in and warm up quickly Pool …5/5 Location. Excellent So close to sunny beach strip and the beach you can’t get any better Location…5/5 All in all a nice medi budget hotel Does the job Make sure your expectations arnt too high and you’ll be fine Will we come her again? .. probably not..not terrible but could do with some slight upgrades

I’m going to start with the positives as there were some. The Hotel from the outside and the reception area is absolutely beautiful. The rooms were small but adequate considering you only sleep in there. The entertainment staff were hard working and very nice and always got a smile on their face. The one person that’s sticks out on reception was Stella a definite asset to the hotel, it was my daughter’s birthday whilst we were there and she organised a birthday cake for her. Housekeepers very friendly. The beach was minutes away and had a boardwalk so good for pushchairs, wheelchairs etc. There was also towels to rent. One thing is a must is bug spray lots of little thing’s waiting to have a nibble. I enjoyed the snack bar food for lunch, nice salads and loads of fresh fruit. I must say the man who cooks the fresh bread downstairs was so happy and always had a smile on his face. I’ve decided to list the negatives. 1) there was one man on reception who was incredibly rude, regarding towels and pool hire. 2) the maintenance man shouted at us to get our sunbeds off the grass 3) Bedrooms and showers were never cleaned properly. Some days random black long hairs appeared in the bathroom and shower and I’m blonde so who knows. 4) Showers some days they worked perfectly but must say most days they trickled out and was cold. 5) Food in the restaurants were never hot, I’m a vegetarian and lived on salads for 2 weeks as there was labels telling us what the food was but no idea if it was vegetarian or not. 6) Toilets in the public areas were smelly Now for my biggest gripe my Grandson was served alcohol not for himself but nevertheless they still served him even though he had a child’s wrist band on. NOW FOR MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT My daughter took her 4 year old to the kids club and I arrived to pick her up and basically just took her. The staff didn’t check who I was and basically it was chaos the staff seemed more interested in hugging the children and not watching the others. How this hotel is a 4 Star hotel is beyond me, I certainly will not be recommending it and will never return.
