For various reasons we had to extend our stay by another night and were pleased to do so. It allowed us to experience K’shiki restaurant as well as Tapas Molecular Bar which we were already booked into. Osamu Okazaki ensured that our check in went extremely smoothly and offered services which made us feel very welcomed. He really did relieve the stress that had been caused by the day’s events. The room was magnificent and allowed us to totally unwind. The hotel is close enough to places of interest to fill your time if needs be. The restaurants were exceptional. K’shiki with it’s vague nod towards italian cuisine was exceptional. We chose Chef’s Dinner Menu and each course was interesting and surprising. Service was exceptional. Tapas Molecular Bar is one of those restaurants which is really special in the world. It’s hard to write a review without ruining the surprises. Suffice to say with only seating for eight you really do need to consider your reservation well in advance. Chef Kento Ushikubo is as talented as it gets. His food is intense in taste, creative and in many cases just baffling. He could almost be a member of the Magic Circle with the illusions he creates. One of the most thoughtful and considerate people I have met, and meet him you do because he is with you preparing everything throughout the meal, you just wanted to applaud with a standing ovation at the end. He made it particularly special for our wedding anniversaries and I can’t say how because it would spoil another illusion. I was just staggered that with all our experience of eating throughout the world we were introduced to new experiences. Spoiler alert; I cannot believe his ‘powdered ice cream’ has not been ‘borrowed’ by other chefs. Sadly, unless we manage to return, some of those experiences will be a once in a lifetime event. Thank you for a memorable evening

Hotel Amanek Asakusa Ekimae

Hotel Amanek Asakusa Ekimae

Ueno/Asakusa/Ryougoku Tokyo|0.48km from Kuramae-jinja Shrine
Environment: The hotel is located next to Sensoji Temple, very close to the Asakusa Subway Station (the two lines under Asakusa have different exits and entrances and exits, which is easy to make mistakes). There are small supermarkets and convenience stores nearby, which is more convenient. There is also a restaurant opened by Tohoku people nearby. You can see the Skytree from the rooftop of the hotel Service: On the first day of check-in, I met someone who spoke Chinese (I didn’t see him in the next few days). The front desk was quite enthusiastic and greeted everyone when entering and leaving. Although the location is small, it is still quite warm. Facilities: The room is very small and may be smaller than the average domestic standard room (although it is generally small). However, due to the long and slender room configuration, it is very inconvenient for us to enter and exit. When one person enters, everyone must give way to the door first. OK. The hotel does not provide cleaning services. The garbage we left at the door was cleaned up in time, but other services provided are very limited. The shower head in the bathroom is very low, and a person with a height of 1.6 meters cannot reach his head. The window in the room is only 5 centimeters open, and the seats by the window are quite atmospheric (it would be nice if it was a better room setting). Unfortunately, I stayed a little lower and couldn’t see the Skytree. Overall, it's just a little too small, but everything else is pretty good.

A great capsule hotel which is quite spacious and cozy for a lady of my size. Conveniently located near A2 and A4 exit of Kuramae Subway Station. Can reach the hotel from Narita Airport by taking the Access Train to Asakusa and then transfer to Kuramae Station for 1 station. Has quite a number of convenient stores and affordable restaurants nearby. Good for budget travellers. Can also walk to Asakusa area for about 15 minutes. The neighbourhood is quite and comfortable. Recommend.

I stayed at Focus Kuramae in one of the private rooms for 5 nights and had a fabulous stay. Staff were very friendly and happy to help with any questions. Although the room was small it was perfectly sized for two people who wanted to crash out in a comfy bed at the end of the day BUT having two large suitcases was a little difficult as we couldn't open the door the whole way, keep this in mind when you pack! The shared bathrooms were incredibly clean and toothpaste/brushes, hairdryers and shower products were provided. Also available was towels for 300 yen from reception downstairs. I do suggest taking a few moments to read the signage around the check in so that you are aware of other services offered as well eg. breakfast, laundry, camera higher, etc. The only thing I saw as being a little bit annoying was no fridges in the room to easily access cold water etc but there are fridges available for use down in the lobby/cafe area if you really need so this isn't really a huge issue. Definitely will be staying here again on my future trips to Japan.

The airport can be reached directly all day long. A 2-minute walk from Zomae Station. About 10 minutes walk from Asakusa Station. The location is very good. Walk about 1.2 kilometers to Sensoji Temple. The hotel is clean and tidy, and you can cook. The boss is very nice. Very recommended.

This was the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in! The beds are so clean and comfortable and the staff are so friendly. The atmosphere is really social too. I met some amazing people here, and the bar downstairs is vibey!!! If I had any problem the staff went over and above to help me. This is my first time travelling solo and I felt really nervous before coming, but as soon as I arrived at Nui I felt like I had a home away from home. Would 1000% come again, I have already booked another stay because I’m sad to be leaving! Thank you so much Nui!
Section L Kuramae - Asakusa

This place was the best place we stayed in our 2 week Japan trip. The staff, the room, the location - all of it was perfect. It was so good, our family cancelled our reservation with another hotel on the return leg to Tokyo and re-booked here. The location is quiet but wonderful, with restaurants, groceries, interesting local shops and most importantly, 2 subway lines - all within a few minutes. The peacefulness of the area was actually perfect after spending a day/night in the chaos of Shinjuku, Akhihabara, etc. I don't see many reviews for this place - probaly due to it's newness, but trust me - it's more than full value. It really felt like our home-away-from-home in Tokyo. The only people I'd say this hotel isn't for, is the party crowd. If you specifically want the full nightlife experience of Tokyo, look for something in Shinjuku. But for a family or a less party-oriented traveler, this hotel is ideal. Our family of four had 2 twin beds and a bunk beds and we fit very comfortably. We are tall and space in Japan is at a premium - we never felt cramped at Section L, the setup is great. Pro tip: we didn't discover this until the end, but there is storage space under the bed for suitcases. Wish we'd found it sooner! Bonus: the toaster in the room is absolutely next-level fantastic.
