"Great hotel in the heart of Tromsø. It’s next to a really great pizza restaurant (Yonas) and it has a beautiful view of the fjord and mountain. Breakfast was good and the room was comfortable."
"Hotel is conveniently located and just 2 mins walk to the Airport Express Bus. Also easy access to grocery stores, food and Tromso port. Its a simple budget hotel with small and comfortable room. There seemed to have machine for laundry at 3rd floor for 90kr a wash. The reception is also a bar to get your drinks. There are work space in front of the 'Barception'. Staffs were cool 😎"
"The apartment hotel is located in the prosperous area on the east side of the island, close to various attractions, and convenient for shopping.
You can also go to the supermarket and fish market to purchase local seafood. The apartment has an induction cooker and all kinds of cooking utensils for your own cooking."
"The location is good .you can go anywhere in the city by walk.near eurospa supermarket near the ecpress bus stop to the sirport .gym open 24 hrs outdide the hotel #skygym .everytjong is perfect.the con is no cofee free in the receptio n area."
"Check-in staff is friendly, the process is quick. Upon request, they unlock the upper deck bunk bed as my kid prefer upper one as his personal bed. The view is nice from the room window, can see the Tromso beach. The night also having a good weather and we able to see northern light just at outside of the hotel."
"I recently stayed at Smarthotel Tromsø and enjoyed my time there. The breakfast was really good, with plenty of variety to start the day. My room was neat and comfortable, albeit a bit smaller than I would have preferred, but it served its purpose. One thing to keep in mind during the winter is that Tromsø is very dark for much of the day, so you might sleep in later than planned. Overall, I recommend Smarthotel Tromsø for a convenient and satisfying stay."
"Hotel gave us a complimentary upgrade after knowing that we were travelling for our honeymoon! Room was clean and spacious. Toilet floor was heated, definite plus point!"
"Our best stay for the trip. The room is very big, clean and fully equipped. Good location, walking distance to the ferry terminal and 15 mins by bus to the airport. The bus stop is just the next street of the apartment. Shopping, groceries, eateries are all nearby. Lucky to see the northern light on the first night outside our apartment. Strongly recommend all to stay when you are in Tromso."
"Great location, not far from the center of the town and not far from the best restaurants! nice repeptionist! there is only one bathroom and one shower on each floor, which can be too little at times. Worked out for us tho!
We were able to see the northern lights from our window!"
"The front desk service was very good. When I arrived at the hotel, there was no room available. The hotel staff told me that I could check in in 2 hours. I could go around first and then check in. I could also rest in the restaurant. They were gentle. This hotel is close to the meeting point of Aurora tour and dog sledding tour, which is very convenient."

Great
GGuest UserThe hotel is outdated and is scheduled to be refurbished in 2025 or 2026.
The lobby is ”super” small with no design theme (for what that matters).
My room was small and poorly laid-out...plus, the bed was so soft it was uncomfortable and I knew my back would suffer, so I placed the thin topper on the floor and slept on that.
Once housekeeping left at the end of the day you could not obtain extra blankets or pillows...all I had was one small, rectangular pillow....I did not get a good sleep!
The gym could only be accessed by climbing a narrow, winding set of stairs...I never got there.
The front office staff was amazing...so pleasant and accommodating....despite all the demands placed on them.
I was thankful I was only staying for 1 night.
GGuest UserGood location near the airport by local bus within 5 min. View of the mountain is very nice. The staffs are helpful. The room is clean and everything is good except there is no amenities, besides body wash, shampoo and conditioner which is pretty enough.
GGuest UserAn unpretentious but comfortable hotel in an unbeatable location in central Tromso (the third photo is the view from the hotel window). Highlights include the friendly staff (a shout out here to the ever helpful Petter), tasty and healthy breakfast, and comfortable sitting areas that mean you don't have to hang out in your room.
Given the quality of the hotel it is surprising - and highly annoying - that they don't provide kettles in the room (I even offered to pay a deposit), the more frustrating because some photos on the site show coffee machines: so some rooms do have these facilities. The selection of toiletries is also surprisingly meagre - no shower gel for example, which seems unnecessarily cheapskate. My other gripe is that they need more individual tables in the breakfast room: finding a space at a long table feels reminiscent of youth hostelling...
With these shortcomings noted, the hotel can be recommended and is good value for Tromso.
JJL1234Hygiene: good at all
Location: there is only two bus route 420 that can reach the hotel bus stop (walking distance: 5-10 mins), the bus costs around 2 hour from Tromso
Service: very good, workers are eager to help, but better have a luggage room with security control
Facilities: sauna and ice bath is very good with stunning views, remember to bring your plastic sandals and swimsuits as they cannot be bought here
GGuest UserLocation was absolutely perfect. Central to everything and was across the street from my ship. Room was the perfect size for one person. Temperature was too hot in the room and no way to turn it down. Woke up boiling in the middle of the night
Breakfast buffet was awesome! Had dinner one night. Had the hamburger and fries from the menu. Very tasty but I felt the portion size was small given the price. Restaurant staff would not allow me to take my food back to the room.
I would recommend this hotel because of the location and price.
GGuest UserA hotel that is located conveniently to many pick up points for tours. Grocery stores, 7-11 and restaurants are also located nearby. Simple amenities such as shampoo/body soap, towels, hairdryer are available. Love it that there is breakfast and dinner that comes together with your stay. Nothing too fancy but good enough to fill your bellies considering the restaurants are quite pricey. You will need to get hot water on your own at the dispenser as there are no kettle in the room. Reception was always friendly in answering any questions, and even helped with my cab booking to the airport. Worth it for the price, would stay here again.
HH. AlmeidaPerfect stay if you’re looking for a more local authentic stay. We had a cozy wooden cabin with 2 bedrooms and kitchen, which was perfect for our group of 4. We cooked meals there and could hang out together in the living and dining room, all of the above wouldn’t have been possible in a traditional hotel. The location is more secluded, not convenient if you don’t have a rental car.
GGuest UserThe Vander in Tromsø is a ”digital hotel.” There's no reception and no human contact person. That's not a bad thing. But you have to be aware of the situation. Check-in is either via mobile phone or the CI machine; you can also issue multiple plastic cards. This is definitely recommended. The risk is very low, but if your battery runs out, your phone breaks, etc., it's always better to have a backup. The room was relatively clean, and the furnishings were well-maintained. The Euro-Spar supermarket downstairs offers good shopping, and the Narstrada shopping center is just a few minutes away. Prices are OK by Norwegian standards. The city center can be reached in 5-10 minutes. We visited all the attractions on foot. The bus from the airport cost about €5, while Bolt was €20. Therefore, Bolt is worth considering for groups of three or more (or if your flight is very early/late). I can recommend Skaret by Vander if you're not afraid of online systems.

Thoughts on the stay
The floors were generally clean, as you had to change from shoes to slippers at the entrance.
The cats in the hotel were also cute.
The hotel itself was nice and I would like to stay again next time.
One thing that was puzzling was that I never met the receptionist and didn't know where the reception was, so I was confused about that.
MMARY ANN MARGARETTECheap price place to stay. They have shared facilities - 2 showers, 2 toilets and a common kitchen upstairs, 1 washer/dryer downstairs.
Going there better be ready if you take bus 24 (shortest way) as you need to go up the slope it’s kinda challenging if you have luggages but if you take bus 20 a bit longer walking as you need to walk back but the good news is we spotted aurora borealis on our way back and going to the house is downslope so it’s easier to go down than up lol. The person in charge is friendly. The room is spacious with 3 beds and a table with nice window overlooking outside. We were assigned with room at the ground floor so it’s easier to push our luggage and no need to go up the staircase. Improvement, hoping that the air-conditioned heater knob really works? Coz it’s kind of cold in the middle of the night. Overall, we did like our stay, it’s not far from the center and we like the quietness of the neighbourhood plus all white snow covering the whole place.
