My review, of course, will not be about this hotel, but about the hotel of this chain, Thaproban Pavilion Resort & Spa. We booked a room at the Thaproban Beach House Hotel, when we came to check in, it turned out that our reservation at this place was missing, and we had a reservation at the Thaproban Pavilion Resort & Spa. Thanks to the Trip.com team for helping us understand and resolve issues. And the Thaproban Pavilion Resort & Spa turned out to be much better than the Thaproban Beach House. True, it is not on the beach, but the beach is 5-7 minutes away. The hotel is super, all the amenities, large rooms overlooking the ocean. Very tasty breakfasts, 2 swimming pools on site, one with salt water. In general, I highly recommend the hotel. We really liked it. And we never regretted that we moved into it.
The main asset of this place is the staff. Everything. What was not noted when booking was the lack of glass in the windows. They are closed with decorative wooden shutters, as the hotel is decorated in a traditional style. But opening these shutters means listening to all the sounds that you can already hear quite well, and in the evening mosquitoes will fly in. Some people won’t notice, but I was in a small room with no windows, and without daylight it wasn’t very good. The mattress was comfortable. The breakfasts are good. The hotel team is pulling out all the stops, but renovation of the rooms is already required))

In addition to the food and beverages, the service is relatively friendly and it is really bad. The hotel does not have a beach and there are reefs outside, and the swimming pool is small. The room facilities are ordinary and the soundproofing is poor, which affects the rest. The mountain road that came to scratched the car and was in a bad mood.
Hotel room is a bit old, but very historical, the corridor in front of the room, the balcony is very characteristic, the surrounding environment is beautiful, breakfast is good, the hotel is a few hundred meters away from the beach, it is very convenient to walk, cost-effective.

We had unfortunately a problem with our booking and no room was available. But the lovely staff found a solution very quickly in another hotel for the first night before we returned to Villa Gaëtano for the second night. They really made their best to compensate the disturbances we experienced and we could have a very pleasant stay in the villa. A big big thank
Hello everyone! booked the hotel through a trip com from Russia, paying rubles. The pleasant host of the hotel has set up earlier, had a drink. breakfasts common for Sri Lanka, eggs, toasts with jam, fruit plate, drink. Clean every day the room, give water, tea/coffee. No insects in the room. There is air conditioner, refrigerator, safe. up to the sea 5 minutes walk, near fruit shops, shops, restaurants. From the sights near the Buddha temple, viewing area. hotel super for its money
A very pleasant hotel, a tutu ride away from Galle, but with its own swimming pool and private beach (small), the service staff are very friendly and the cleaning is timely.

Perfect
SS. N. N.Very good accommodation for the beach vacation in Unavatuna. Villa is located far from the noizy street in the living suburb, neibours are local people, so we heared no any party, just sounds of nature and tuk-tuks. All the key locations are not far from the place, wine store, friut store, small supermarcet, of course beaches, both Turtle and main can be reached by foots.
Garden is of proper care, there are some facilities there to spend evening on the air.
Public areas (hall, dinning-cooking rooms) are clean, there are big fridge, washing machine, gas owen, cookware, dishes, glasses, so you can Cook. Owner comes every evening to change trach bins and clean up halls.
Room is not big, but there are all the nesessary, bad wide enough, bed line clean and New, two big and two small towels. Air conditioner is New.
Very beautiful bath room, same as you see in ad
Owner is very helpful and nice.
Welcome to Shri Lanka
MMagicMaik123Nice and relaxing place. Came as a really early checking at 8:30 and the managed to let me into the room super fast!
Extremely good service! 100% recommend!
In the evening at the pool I could see the monkeys swinging from tree to tree😅
MMichael8787Magnificent mini-hotel.
One of the best on the island.
Very friendly staff, small number of rooms. Although it's a la carte, the breakfast is very tasty and varied. Infinity pool with magnificent views. Nearby is one of the best beaches on the island without waves - Jungle beach. I highly recommend choosing this place. By the way, I advise anyone who gets a view of the garden not to be upset - the sea can also be seen from there. Overall, a wonderful boutique hotel.
AAvinia Naidu Gayan and his team were amazing. I’ve not had such homely service like this before in all my travels!
They all went above and beyond to cater to all my needs and questions.
The breakfast spread was vast and memorable, days after leaving its still all I think about! The room was spacious enough for me, though, do note noise from the road could be a hindrance to super light sleepers. I’d advise you have a room not close to the road.
The hotel is serene and calm, giving of a relaxed and natural vibe in a bustling area. The change is welcomed after a long day out on the beach with people.
10/10 would return!
FFred ConcklinWonderful place with a lush garden in Unawatuna area in the main tourist road. They let us for an early checkin so we didn’t have to wait in the lobby area. Room was spacious with modern furniture and included a minibar. Air conditioner worked perfectly. Bed was comfy. Bathroom was spacious. Hot water worked perfectly. Modern fixtures too. Green villa was close to all the main attractions. Highly recommended for a calm, quiet, comfortable stay in Unawatuna area.
GGuest UserWe can not say enough good things about our stay at this beautiful boutique hotel. The entire staff was welcoming and attentive to details. We arrived at 3:00am and the hotel had prepared some fruit and sandwiches for our arrival. My wife is celiac and the staff did an amazing job ensuring there were food options available for her. They even prepared traditional Sri Lankan food for us to try. The beach club gets very busy during the day but we still felt like the only guests there. This place has a great island vibe with music and different entertainment daily. We will definitely be returning before the end of our trip.
TTriptacular7We stayed there for a couple of nights. The owner was nice and helpful when we wanted to change the room and get a kettle. The room was really spacious. Hot water in the shower. The balcony had a lovely view to a green garden. Breakfast was delicious with a perfect cliffs ocean view! We saw 7 peacocks, a monkey and a friendly dog.
向向往旅游的老李The hotel is younger, the decoration is not bad, the door object is a food city, but the hotel is not satisfied with a lot of places: the first is to make a mistake our order, the triple room becomes a double room, until 6:30 to give us A triple room; the second corridor is small, the elevator has a very unpleasant musty smell; the third sheet is dirty, the spots are stains, I have to send a picture to estimate that no one dares to go. There is no cup in the fourth room, no drinking water, no kettle, tap water is very salty, you must buy water yourself. But the service is not bad, but also some free card darts, etc. A small pool is small but beautiful. So there are advantages and disadvantages, please decide for yourself.
TTaishan1981The room is large, the facilities are very good, the breakfast is relatively small, and it needs to be booked in advance. The dinner for 7 of us took an hour and a half to cook, and don't order local beef. It's too unpalatable to bite. I didn't eat at all, except for eating. The scenery is great, invincible sea view
