We live local to Woodbridge and made a decision to stay at Seckford Hall as we’d driven past it so many times in the past and wanted to support a local business.
The building itself is stunning, friendly staff greated us and gave us our room keys. Then proceeded to show us to our room, not in the grand building but in a 1990’s annex in the car park. Disappointed doesn’t cover it! Once in damp and cold room we learned that the heating in the bathroom didn’t work. A quick call to reception was met by a disgruntled receptionist agreeing maintenance would take a look. Hours later and no one turned up. So we got ready for our evening meal in a damp cold bathroom. Sadly I’ve got nothing nice to say about the bathroom, it was dated, damaged, mouldy, damp, cold and inadequate for a hotel that cost £150 a night. The meal there was average to good. Service from the restaurant and bar staff was good. In handing back the keys to reception I was met by a flustered lady who took the keys off me without acknowledging me. When I complained about the room, she stated that someone should have fixed it.
