This was the worst experience of our 20-plus-day trip to Xinjiang, and the only one that received a negative review. Traffic restrictions at the hotel weren't announced in advance, forcing us to detour for over an hour in Xi'an's congested traffic. Since we hadn't applied for a permit in advance, we repeatedly tried to negotiate with the traffic police for clearance, but each officer kept telling us to keep driving until a permit was issued. This forced us to choose between dining and sightseeing. After a nine-hour detour from Lanzhou to Xi'an, we could only take a photo of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda in the hotel hallway upon leaving. Upon arrival, I didn't intend to argue, but the front desk clerk pulled out the call logs and told me they'd contacted me at noon that day using a virtual number with coordinates from another city. The call didn't go through, so they didn't inform me. When I questioned them, they explained they were busy and had forgotten to call back. It's hard to imagine a Marriott hotel omitting such crucial information. The matter seemed to be over, but upon entering the room, I discovered the hotel had assigned me an interior window room with a computer room view (see Figure 1), which didn't match the pictures or description. I'd booked two rooms, one to each side of the computer room, which was truly infuriating. After Ctrip negotiated with me, they offered to send me two fruit plates. I don't know how they handled this perfunctory approach. After I declined, Ctrip negotiated again and upgraded one of the rooms. Because the other room only had twin beds, my family didn't change. It's a newly opened hotel, and the facilities are fine. The odor is mild and not a big deal, and the cleanliness is fine. However, if you're driving or are concerned about the computer room view, I recommend asking before booking; the hotel doesn't usually require advance notification.

The hotel's location is superb, right in the heart of the Bell Tower commercial district. It's just a few minutes' walk to the Bell Tower and Muslim Quarter, and the Guangji Street subway station is nearby, making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing and dining. The ambiance is also impeccable. The hanging art installations in the lobby have a distinctly traditional Chinese architectural feel, and the tranquil and elegant atrium garden is perfect for taking photos or relaxing.
The room was exceptionally clean; the bedding was spotless and odor-free, ensuring a very restful night's sleep.
The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options, including Western dishes and authentic Shaanxi specialties. The ingredients were fresh and the flavors were genuine, making for a very satisfying meal. The service was also excellent; the staff were warm and attentive, especially Jennifer, who responded promptly to any guest requests. I will definitely stay here again.
Nice and comfortable hotel. Air conditioner kept the room comfy. HDMI ports were turned off on the TV, but after a call to the front desk, they sent a tech to enter the password on the tv to allow HDMI connections. The restaurant was okay but not the service. People seemed confused. Even when I tried to use Chinese, it didn't help (I can order fine in Shanghai, but I lack the northern accent). And instead of just giving me a good menu, they had 3 different people come to me.
The bar downstairs was often not staffed and they didn't have cold drinks. No cold beer. Warm beer with ice in it. Was there for 4 nights... Only once was there cold beer, and that's when other foreigners told them to put the beer in the refrigerator.... And it ran out.
Location is middle of nowhere. They are building up the area, but currently... Nothing. Can't walk anywhere to get cold beer or whiskey. No easy late night delivery.
The kitchen closes at around 10pm, so if no food by then... Out of luck. It would be nice if they had a 24 hour menu, even if just dumplings or instant ramen. Nothing fancy, but the ability to get food later in the night would be nice.
I think this hotel can succeed once the area surrounding it is built...also once it's staff is trained to a higher level. It's a new hotel and will take time... But just the simple act of having some cold beer in the refrigerator would be a great step forward.
