Falkensteiner Hotel Adriana - Adults Only

My daughter and I stayed two nights during our two work tour of Hungary and Croatia and had a fabulous experience. The food was awesome . We are both accomplished cooks so we really care about the food. So fresh, abundant and creative. Breakfast was a visual treat as well as being delicious. Staff was attentive and welcoming without being overbearing. Bed was comfortable and the grounds beautiful. Great suggestions from concierge for other places to visit. We thought the value was outstanding. Would certainly recommend.

Luxury prices for substandard experience in just about every way. We expected the rooms to be dated, so that was no surprise. The nicest part was the balcony. I booked the hotel for the upscale look of the facilities, specifically the pool. Disappointingly, the grounds and pool area need a renovation in addition to the hotel's interior. The photos you see online give an oasis feel, and this is simply not the case. Loungers were very comfortable and a nice surprise. Breakfast was good and no real complaints there. The bike rentals being included was very nice too. It was confusing to determine what was and was not included into the price. Not including coffee, for example, in the evening was unreasonable in our opinion. All of the above is manageable, but not great given the price we paid. The worst part of our stay was the food at dinner. The quality of the food was, I'm sorry to stay, awful. Truly awful. I do not have confirmation of this, but the food did not taste fresh and appeared to be almost reheated. It was so bad that we skipped meals towards the end of our stay and paid for food elsewhere. We have traveled in many various parts of Croatia. Croatian food is wonderful! I hope that people that visit for the first time do not think this is the culinary experience of Croatia. Prices simply are too high for this place. I feel bad to share this review but it is best to be honest. We will not return to this chain of hotels. Hopefully the hotel can take this info and make constructive changes. Good luck to the hotel and staff.

Stayed for one week and was very satisfied with the entire stay and with our sea view superior room with balcony. The entire staff is very professional and service minded and ensured that the stay was a great experience. The food serving and menus are very delicious. Highly recommended if you want to stay in an adult only hotel in central location in Zadar.

Perfect getaway! We visited 1st October for 4 nights, we arrived by Uber late Saturday evening and we were welcomed by reception and shown our room, on arrival we had a selection of tapas dishes as we arrived late and had missed dinner, we thought this was a very nice touch. The room itself was adequate, slightly dated, but clean and comfortable, unfortunately our first room was too warm and we were moved the day after to a room on the other side of the building, which was perfect, staff very accommodating in our request . First impressions of the hotel and grounds were good, it’s a beautiful old charming building set in wonderful romantic gardens, with easy access to the warm sea. There is one main dining hall and you are assigned a table for the duration of your stay, our main waitress Mariana was a huge asset to the hotel, very friendly and attentive, always smiling, nothing ever too much trouble and she just came across a very happy genuine lady who clearly loved Zadar and her job. The food is beautiful, fresh, local, varied, heathy and plentiful! As a vegan I did not struggle to eat and they catered so well for me for the duration of our stay. The drinks are also very good quality, particularly the red wine. We visited the sauna on a few occasions and were very impressed, just be prepared to see au natural! The area around the hotel was clean and quite upmarket there is a beautiful marina not far and we found a great coffee shop that held a food market directly on the seafront close by. I only have one recommendation and that would be to play some quiet ambient music in the communal areas as it can lack a bit of a**osphere. All in all we had an amazing time, in a beautiful part of the world for our wedding anniversary, The Guest Relations Manager, Ivica Babic made sure everything was fine, every day he went out his way to speak to all the guests, nothing was too much trouble for him and his team. Thank you and we will be back.

Hotel staff were lovely and friendly and made our holiday a great experience. The room was spacious and clean with all the necessary amenities. The food was excellent throughout the week with a good variety. We sometimes found it tricky to track people down at the bar, whilst the pool area is great the other social areas of the hotel tend to be quite quiet and as a result lacked a**osphere. There is a beach but we didn’t bother as the pool area was lovely and private. We would definitely stay here again.

We went as a couple and were very impressed with the food and drink provided as half board. The 3 course dinner was of gourmet standard and the buffet at breakfast, lunch and dinner, catered for every desire (and a dozen more!). Wine and beer was provided at both lunch and dinner. Staff were very accommodating, even providing us a lovely picnic hamper for a day out. The beaches in Zadar were disappointing compared to other countries we have travelled but the grounds at the hotel were idyllic with the ocean behind (we enjoyed this even more so, as opted for a superior room which overlooked the ocean). This is definitely a ‘quiet’ retreat for adults (couples or friends), the staff were very courteous and provided some lovely touches like pre-dinner cocktails and a cinema evening around the pool. I’m already trying to think of an occasion (or an excuse!) to go back, so I would thoroughly recommend this hotel for anyone considering a holiday in Zadar.

We had a wonderful 5 days in this hotel. The room layout was unusual but worked well and the grounds were beautiful and peaceful. People seemed to think the pool was cold (early May) but it felt fine to us hardy northern Englanders. The spa and pools in the adjacent hotel were extensive and high quality. But the 2 greatest things about the Adriana were the staff and the food. Staff were so helpful and pleasant, at the same time as being quite friendly and informal. And the food was truly amazing… modern, innovative and delicious. The courses off the menu were smallish, but really tasty and well cooked, and could be supplemented for those with bigger appetites, with a huge range of food from the buffet, including amuses bouches, salads, lots of different desserts, cheeses etc. we don’t usually go for all-inclusive, high end hotels, but can’t speak highly enough of this place, which seemed great value for money.
