Recently stayed here for my birthday with my wife, I'd read mixed reviews but we really liked it, we'd booked a superior sea view room which was nice but upgraded to a private pool room after 1 day (there was no availability before then),it wasn't cheap but it was definitely worth it, as it was almost impossible to get a decent sunbed around the main pool. Despite the management notices stating that reserving of sunbeds wasn't permitted we saw unoccupied beds with towels on them for long periods, we did spend a couple of days on the beach but we needed to be there early to get a bed. The rooms are good and comfortable but could probably do with updating a bit, the views over the bay to Hvar are fantastic and the sunsets are beautiful. The restaurant gets quite full up at certain times so it's best to eat early or late as the waiting staff are very busy and you sometimes have to wait for drinks to be ordered and brought to your table, food was quite varied and enjoyable , the house wine and beer was also decent as were the cocktails. We booked the Culinariam one night during our stay which is included and that was really good, our waiter Gustavo from Mexico was really friendly and attentive and we had a great discussion about his home town on the pacific coast of Mexico which we had been to (much to his amazement). The hotel is situated in a really nice quiet area but the transfer to and from Split airport was over 2 hrs each way which was almost as long as the flight from the UK and quite exhausting. As others have stated the hotel is not suitable if you have mobility issues as there are a lot of steps as it's built on a steep hillside. We booked a trip from someone on the beach for a boat trip to Hvar and Brac islands ,we would definitely recommend that , it was a brilliant day and the islands are stunningly beautiful, we are looking at booking an island holiday next year. This was our 3rd trip to Croatia in 2 years and was the best so far,the country is beautiful, the people are friendly and it's only a 2.5-3hr flight from the UK. If you're a couple looking for a lively hotel with lots to do this probably isn't for you but if your looking for a relaxed quiet holiday then give this place some consideration ,it's mainly couples but there were some larger groups and single people, it's adults only which is always a plus for us. The only real negative for us was that there is a large church next to the hotel and as our room was right at that end the bells at 6am often woke us up, but other than that we really enjoyed our stay.
