I love this place so much that a part of me wants to gatekeep this hidden gem. Fanzhu梵住 is a beautifully curated boutique hotel that delivers outstanding hospitality. I initially booked a 5-day stay but loved it so much that I extended for an extra day, willingly sacrificing my next destination. I was initially worried the hotel might be a ”pretty façade.” Fortunately, Fanzhu met all my needs of functionality and comfort (Breakfast, Air Conditioning, an excellent shower, free self-service laundry, an ideal location). The property is far from perfection, but it overcompensates with simple, heartfelt sincerity. You can feel the tremendous thought and effort poured into this place to make guests feel comfortable. ✨ Highlights, Who Will Love This Place: ✅#English-Speaking Travellers: For foreigners unfamiliar with China, it is extremely helpful that the owner is fluent in English. ✅#Design & Aesthetics: Warm & modern. The property exudes zen-like comfort with charming decors. It has a gorgeous yard, with swimming pool, and ample outdoor seatings. ✅#Remote workers: I didn’t plan to work on this trip, but I could see myself working there remotely. If you come from the city where every building looks like a boxy Lego piece, you will deeply appreciate this place. ✅#Personalized Service: Kudos to the young lady boss! In a place like Wanfenglin where the location pins and 导航 can be vague to foreigners, sh took the time to understand my itinerary, how I planned my routes around Wanfenglin. She gave recommendations, and helped me check my “Destination” input on car hiring app. Airport and railway station pickups can also be arranged easily too. ✅#Immaculate Rooms: THE BED! Oh my, the bed! The linens, pillows, and towels are all premium quality. Even the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash feel luxurious. The bed is so comfortable that I would return just for a sleep-in holiday. Ok I know I’m mentioning the bed twice but it’s worth mentioning thrice. Extra points from me that the rooms are non-smoking. ✅#Location: Before arriving, I read a review describing this place as ”a piece of tranquillity close to the action”. Now I get it. It sits as an independent building on a peaceful road/hill(?), yet it is a short, easy walk to the Bagua fields and Zhong Nahui, where you can find idyllic cafes, little shops, and children playing in the fields. ✅#Breakfast: Delicious local-flavoured noodles!They also offer more conservative standards like toasts, eggs, and coffee. Oh, the hotel has an ice machine! Ooooohh so sexy in the hot weather (apparently ice cubes are rare in Wanfenglin). ✅#The Resident Pets: As a pet lover who willingly pays to visit cat cafes, having resident dog and cats sealed the deal for me. ✅#BONUS TIP: The Rooftop Night Sky. Unassuming and rugged at first glance, I was initially unimpressed. But I heard good reviews from others, so I gave it another go, and am thankful I did! Stay awhile, allow your eyes some time to adjust in the darkness, and you would see the sky completely transforms. On my last night, I saw a shooting star! I kid you not. It was an absolutely unbelievable, unforgettable moment. Incredibly awesome! ⚠️ Considerations Before You Book (Who should avoid): - If you love standard chain hotels. Fanzhu is intimate enough to offer personalized service. But I can imagine some of my more pampered friends who prefer international breakfast buffet spread would struggle to settle for this simplicity. Some things are just not realistic expectations off a boutique. - Mobility needs: There is no elevator. They would graciously carry your suitcases. However, elderly may want to enquire about ground-floor room. - In the midst of nature: If you have zero tolerance for insects, you may want to skip staying in Wanfenglin. It is a humid, lush environment surrounded by fields and trees. Personally, with a body spray of insect repellent, I wasn't bothered at all. - Pet allergies: If you hate pets (but why would you? :( w

Me and my girlfriend got picked up at Congjiang train station which was very convenient. Right from the start the owners of the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. The accomodation is located at the back of the village next to a field where they grow rapeseed flowers and rice during the year. For us the location was perfect as it is very peaceful and quiet but simultaneously litterally a few steps away from the beautiful vibrant little village. The room was very spacious and clean with a gorgeous view on the field. The interior is very well matched and has great facilities. There was even a small laundry machine so we could do some laundry ourselves. So far during our travels in China, this stay was the best we had! There is a very stylish and cute coffee/restaurant located on the first floor of the building. This is also where you will have a delicious breakfast and where Ni Li and her sister will greet you with a smile every time you walk by. Ni Li, her husband Tao Mingqing, her sister and brother played a crucial part during our stay as after the first night my wife got very sick due to an infection and barely left the room during our stay. The second night I got foodpoisoning which made the situation even worse. (Not from the hotel!). We ended up extending our stay due to her condition. Luckily Li's English is very good so that helped us a lot in navigating the medical difficulties. We were extremely lucky to be staying with Li and her family as they took care of us like we were their own family. Preparing custom meals and dinner tailored to our needs every single day, preparing us tea, calling the local doctors and translating and taking us to the local hospital back and forth multiple times. We were there during the Qingming festival so no cars were allowed in the village which made it more difficult to reach the hospital. This didn't stop Tao Mingqing as he took us to the local hospital several times on the motorbike, one by one! The last time I even forgot a bag and he even went back to get it for me! He truly is a legend. Fortunately, my recovery was fairly quickly so I had the chance to explore the village a little by myself and spend time with Li and Ming while staying close to the room for my girlfriend. On day 4 my girlfriend's fever was coming down and she improved a little. Li and Ming invited us to have tea with them. Ming showed me his vast collection of tea and made sure to prepare the best tea suitable for our condition. The tea was truly amazing and he ended up filling a big bag with different kinds of teas as a gift for us! And that was not it, to make sure we would never forget them and drink tea mindfully the Chinese way when we're back home, they gave us the tea cups we used traditionally decorated with the blue dragon and phoenix. It was a very stressful situation and when we felt at our most fragile, they were there to take care of us, strangers they just met. This says everything about these wonderful people. Even though the illness of my girlfriend and the rough situation, we think back to our stay with a very warm hearth as our special experience forged a bond we'll never forget. We are incredibly lucky to have met Li and her family. We have said thank you to them 100s of times already, but I can't express enough how grateful I am for this people. Thank you for taking care of us like your family!!! ＜3 If you are unsure about staying here, there is truly no reason why you shouldn't! Whatever the situation, Li and her family will do everything they can to improve your stay. I'm sure you'll have a blast!

I was a little nervous before booking because the price wasn't cheap, and I worried the experience wouldn't be good enough. However, I figured the numerous positive reviews about the excellent service would be good. My experience was truly beyond expectations (I knew it would be good, but I didn't expect it to be this good), and the scenery was breathtaking. Guizhou-style dinner for two: The hotel offers a complimentary dinner for two, and my husband, an elderly couple, and three children didn't have to pay extra. We enjoyed the hotel buffet. We arrived at 7 p.m., and while the food was plentiful, the manager kept saying they were out of dishes and even cooked us a special Guizhou spicy chicken dish. My husband said it was incredibly flavorful. The bar always had drinks and ice water, making it a relaxing summer drink. After dinner, we took a stroll around the hotel, which was very relaxing. The driver of the electric scooter was always available, and when we left, he took us to the parking lot and then back to the scenic area gate to take us to the bus. The entire hotel staff gave me the same friendly and relaxed feeling as a Sanya resort hotel. My second child was struck by the hotel's beauty the moment they entered, and even asked if it had a swimming pool. It felt like a seaside resort. Swimming in the outdoor pool felt like wandering between heaven and earth, and the fresh scent of the pine forest permeated my breath. We also received complimentary tickets to the Yunmen Tun Scenic Area, which also included a stroll, and the scenery was beautiful. We took photos and posted them on WeChat, and everyone was amazed by the beauty. I look forward to returning in autumn to see the different scenery. A small suggestion would be to add more family-friendly facilities and some forest activities. While you can swim in the summer, there are some activities in the fall and winter that will provide a more enriching experience for children.

The room was spotless, with a lovely Japanese-style feel to it. The toilet was smart, and the shower pressure was strong and invigorating. The bedsheets and duvet covers were incredibly smooth and comfortable. Although the room was a bit small, it was perfectly functional for our needs! Plus, there was an abundance of bottled water available for guests to take freely right outside the room, next to the elevator! The location truly couldn't be better – it's incredibly close to the observation deck, just a 2-minute walk away! From the parking lot, two young staff members helped us carry our luggage, and their service attitude was excellent. They were smiling and friendly the whole way, even introducing us to nearby attractions. All the attractions were within a 30-minute walk of the accommodation. There were all sorts of restaurants everywhere, and many snack stalls along the way! We tried the specialty tofu pudding, fried potato shreds, and more… There were also many massage parlors. We went for a foot bath after dinner. But the best part was: our room directly overlooked a sea of lights! We sat on the balcony sofa in the evening, at night, and in the morning, just enjoying the view! It felt almost the same as being at the observation deck itself! The hotel's restaurant also had hammocks (swings), which were super relaxing! We sat on them in the evening and in the morning – so incredibly therapeutic! The breakfast provided was also rich and varied, including pho, corn, sweet potatoes, fruit, tofu, and milk! When we left, the young staff from the guesthouse also helped us carry our luggage all the way to the parking lot. They were just as cheerful and pleasant as before!

The cleanliness truly deserves praise! The bedding was spotless and neatly arranged, and the bathroom was clean and odor-free. The staff were polite and professional, responding quickly when assistance was needed, making for a worry-free and comfortable stay. The hotel is conveniently located next to the tourist bus station and directly opposite Tongren High-Speed Railway Station, offering excellent transportation access. Five-star rating, definitely worth coming back to! 👍👍👍

The hotel is located in a small alley which big car may find it difficult to reach but the hotel staff is really helpful to carry the luggage in and out to the main road. Location wise it is near the town area and easy acceasible to the scenic spot and eateries. The room is big and have good view of the river, but need to walk up thru staircase. Those stay in with seniors may find it difficult if occupy the high floor. I like the breakfast which give me the feel like homecook foods which is freshly prepared😋

The hotel is conveniently located, just a 12-minute walk from Guiyang Station. It's also within walking distance of Qingyun Market and Jiaxiu Tower. A major plus is the zoo right outside the breakfast area, which is great for families and even has staff to guide you. However, the facilities are a bit dated, and it was a shame the executive lounge wasn't open. While there are four washers and four dryers in the laundry room, it's often crowded and unavailable during peak season. The gym is outsourced, but the front desk service and cleanliness are both good.

Xijiang Surprise Mid-Mountain View B&B was a wonderful surprise! The environment is tranquil, surrounded by lush greenery, and the stilt-house design creates such an authentic atmosphere. The panoramic windows in the rooms offer incredible views; you can lie in bed and overlook the entire Miao village. In the evening, the sight of countless lights illuminating the village is breathtaking, and you don't even need to fight the crowds at the scenic viewpoints. What really stood out was the thoughtful hostess. She contacted us in advance to help with our itinerary, assisted us with our luggage upon arrival, and thoroughly explained the local attractions. She even proactively upgraded us to a room with an even better view, free of charge. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, and the communal terrace was perfect for photos. The service was gentle and attentive. With both amazing views and excellent service, staying here in Xijiang was absolutely a fantastic choice!

Choosing to stay at the Libo Xiaoqikong Junlan Hotel was absolutely the right decision! The customer service reached out to me on WeChat in advance, providing all the hotel information and travel tips. The hotel offers a convenient shuttle service, allowing guests to travel between the scenic area entrance and the hotel whenever needed. The best part was being able to visit Xiaoqikong before the main crowd arrived. Seeing the beautiful ancient bridge with only a few people there felt like a secret triumph. The hotel's service was incredibly thoughtful and attentive. I even forgot my phone charger, and didn't even realize it myself. The hotel's service department promptly contacted me and, not long after, sent a dedicated car to deliver it to me. I'm so grateful to them! I'll definitely stay at Junlan again next time I visit and will recommend it to my friends. Oh, and the breakfast spread was also excellent!

The biggest surprise of our family trip to Guizhou was definitely this guesthouse. Right outside the window, we had stunning views of the entire Wanfenglin idyllic landscape. Watching the sunset from the courtyard in the evening was absolutely divine. When we drove to the village entrance, they proactively helped us with our luggage and even thoughtfully planned off-the-beaten-path routes for us, helping us avoid the crowds. The room was spotlessly clean, the bedding was soft and dry, and the bathroom with its separate wet and dry areas was well-equipped. It was perfectly spacious for our two children, and the courtyard was large enough for them to run and play freely. The breakfast featured local farm-fresh ingredients, with fresh and authentic rice noodles and glutinous rice. The village was quiet at night, with no noisy disturbances, so we slept incredibly soundly. It's far from the hustle and bustle of tourist spots, allowing us to experience the authentic Bouyei village life while enjoying top-notch accommodation comfort. The value for money is outstanding. We'll definitely choose this place again when we come to Xingyi next time. Highly recommend it to families traveling with children!
