A very mixed bag! On the one hand everything is new and clean and the location is absolutely amazing. Staff are welcoming and friendly. That’s the good bits.
The bad part is nothing was really explained to me about the facilities there- for example the wristbands and how they’re used to purchase things. They’re loaded with “credit” which I mistakenly thought was credit to purchase tea and coffee but you do have to pay for them. The machine didn’t work and I was charged for about five drinks I never had but I was in a rush checking out so had to leave it. I also wasn’t told about how to get to the hot tub on the roof so sadly I never got to use that.
The bedding was stained when I got there, weirdly the staff member told me they weren’t “allowed” to change the sheets so I was given some clean sheets and had to battle changing the bed in a tiny space- not ideal. The one hairdryer in the bathrooms also didn’t work fully so that’s why the services rating is low.

For this price, I really can't complain, it was great! Excellent value for money. I happened to be there on September 22nd, which was a free bus day in Reichenau. At this price, other hotels only offer dorm beds or guesthouses with shared bathrooms. They also offer luggage storage and 24-hour check-in.

1. Location: Hotel is located in the main shopping street, almost central in the downtown, 4 mins walk to either Bonus or Kronan supermarket, and about 10mins walk to the big church, the swan lake and harbourfront, also close the bus stop no 6
2. Amenities: Room cozy and spacious enough with pantry and all necessary kitchen wares, so we can do our own cooking here
3. Service: Staff are nice and helpful
4. Breakfast: Inculded, buffet type with many choices, croissant is great, has Skyr yogurt, also have other local specialists such as Icelandic fish, very delicious and we enjoyed very much, highly recommended

This hotel was the most satisfying I stayed at in Iceland. The overall cleanliness was up to standard, and it even had a bathtub. The staff were enthusiastic, and the breakfast was rich and varied. The biggest advantage is that Bus Stop 12 is right outside the door. If you're in Iceland and not doing a multi-day tour, but rather booking different day tours daily, Bus Stop 12 is a station all buses can reach, which is incredibly convenient! Highly recommended.

All good. Service level excellent. Perhaps just need to have more amenities like vanity kit, essential items like bathroom slippers in the room rather than we request for it at the front desk. Otherwise all good.
Hotel Muli provides a clean, modern, and welcoming stay that stands out for its exceptional service and quality amenities. Based on a two-night stay, this hotel is a superb option for travelers prioritizing comfort and value slightly outside the immediate city center.
Highlights & Service
The staff's attention to detail was a defining feature. Following an advance notification, the hotel upgraded our room and decorated it with ”Happy Birthday” balloons and a complimentary bottle of non-alcoholic fizz—an incredibly generous and much-appreciated gesture that demonstrated top-tier customer care.
Comfort and Amenities
The rooms are consistently clean and modern. A practical benefit is the availability of free tea, coffee, and hot chocolate in the reception area, which is perfect for warming up after a day of exploring Iceland.
Food Experience
The breakfast is superb. It offers high-quality ingredients, great variety, and is clearly set up to cater to all dietary needs, complemented by genuinely great coffee.
Location and Verdict
The location is ideal—it’s friendly staff are helpful, and it’s not too far to walk to the main town area, balancing accessibility with a slightly quieter setting. We would definitely choose to stay here again. Even saw whales in the bay, amazing!
friendly staff, the sauna and hot tub were clean and nice。。。。our room was perfect, but if you are picky with drinking water, bring your own to the room。the water from the tab is drinkable, but has a lot of sulfur in it and smells this way。
the breakfast was very good, different coffee, waffles, bread, porridge, fruits,。。。。
Lovely clean and spacious room. Nice little kitchen area with microwave to heat food.
Buffet breakfast was OK. Personally not to my taste, but that is only my opinion. The 16 year old with us loved the waffles with the choice of toppings!
The porridge which I do enjoy was good day 1 but very watery day 2. Choice of bread that could be toasted, margarine (Sorry I am a butter fan!), preserves, ham, cheese, boiled eggs, tomatoes etc.
Free coffee wasn't great - again I'm a coffee snob and like a good cup of filter coffee. I did notice there was coffee to buy.
The room was great and the staff very helpful. We were able to park right outside our room.
Good location for Reykjavik by car, Thingvellir National Park etc. We travelled from here to both and also to Snaefellsnes Peninsula, which was worth the drive. Also we visited Rekyholt, Barnafoss and Hraunfossar waterfalls, Deildartunguhver Thermal Spring - try the tomato soup!
While not in the absolute city center, the hotel's facilities, breakfast, and service are all excellent. Getting around is easy: there are several bus routes directly across the street that go downtown. For airport transfers, the Flybus service connects to a shuttle that drops you off right at the hotel. Good day tours and island excursions also provide convenient pick-up and drop-off from the lobby. A majority of the guests are American, and the restaurant primarily offers Western dishes.

GGuest UserKEX Hostel in Reykjavík is a great place to stay, especially for budget travelers and friends exploring the city together. The location is excellent, right in the city center and close to the seaside, making it easy to walk to major attractions, restaurants, and shops. The hostel has a unique, social atmosphere with a lively common area and bar, which is perfect for meeting other travelers. Rooms and facilities are generally clean and functional, though they can feel a bit basic and sometimes noisy due to the hostel’s popular and central setting. A special highlight of your stay is being able to see the northern lights from outside the hostel, which is a memorable experience and shows how good the location is near the waterfront. Overall, KEX offers good value, a fun vibe, and a prime location for enjoying Reykjavík.
LliuxiufenThe room was incredibly spacious, much better than other hotels. The front desk staff were very welcoming. I highly recommend it and would definitely stay again if I have the chance.

ZZaynetzyTo my surprise, the time to access the locker is only from 9am onwards!!! (only when the staff is at the reception).
My plan was to put my luggage into the locker and I have to catch a morning bus at 7am the next day!! Next time please design the lockers in a way such that it is accessible 24/7 😅😅
Anyways, I still figured out a way - which is to walk to the bus terminal to leave my luggage at the lockers. Attaching a photo of the daylight at 12am 😊
GGuest UserAdvantages:
The hotel is located on a street surrounded by shops and restaurants, making it very convenient for transportation and daily needs. It is also quite close to attractions such as Rainbow Street and the Hallgrímskirkja. The room is spacious and can easily accommodate three large suitcases.
Disadvantages:
The room lighting is relatively dim, and the soundproofing is poor. We were assigned a room on the 3rd floor. Since there was no air conditioning, we had to open the windows for ventilation. However, due to the poor soundproofing, conversations from people on the street could be clearly heard. Additionally, when someone in nearby rooms opened and closed their doors while going out or returning to their rooms, the walls would vibrate noticeably.
GGuest User⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent Stay at Reykjavik Residence Apartment Hotel
I recently stayed at the Reykjavik Residence Apartment Hotel and had an amazing experience. The room was incredibly spacious and gave off a beautiful Scandinavian, Ikea-showroom vibe that made it feel both stylish and comfortable. Housekeeping was top-notch—they kept everything spotless and even left the tip I placed untouched, which really showed their professionalism.
A special mention goes to the Filipino receptionist, who was always smiling, warm, and genuinely helpful throughout my stay. The hotel’s location is also unbeatable—right in the heart of the town centre, making it easy to explore Reykjavik on foot.
Overall, I had a wonderful stay and would definitely choose this hotel again if I return to Iceland in the future. Highly recommended!
