Great Value and Location, But Facilities Could be Better Stay Dates: November 14 - November 17, 2025 Room Type: Double Room High Floor My recent three-night stay at the Tune Hotel Georgetown Penang was a positive experience overall, primarily due to its unbeatable location and excellent value. The Location (5/5) truly is the highlight of this hotel. Being situated in Georgetown made exploring the city's main attractions, heritage sites, and famous hawker food spots incredibly convenient. If proximity to the heart of Penang is your priority, this hotel delivers perfectly. The Ondo Bakery across the street was my absolute favorite to visit daily! The Cleanliness (4/5) and Service (4/5) were both solid and up to standard. The room was kept clean, and the staff were helpful and friendly during check-in and throughout my stay, providing good, reliable service. The area where the hotel falls a little short is the Facilities (3/5 - Okay). While the room provided the basics needed for a comfortable stay—a comfortable bed and a reliable air conditioning unit—the overall facilities felt quite basic. This is typical of a budget-focused hotel, but those expecting extensive amenities might be disappointed. For a short stay where you plan to be out exploring all day, however, the facilities are perfectly adequate. In summary, the Tune Hotel Georgetown Penang is an excellent choice for budget-conscious travelers who prioritize location above all else. It offers a clean room and good service in a fantastic spot. If the hotel were to upgrade some of its amenities, it would easily earn a five-star rating from me.

The hotel location is good; close to the famous temple Kek Lok Si and Penang Hill as well as many coffee shop, food market and small restaurants.. but the hotel looks worn out and only the very basic are provided. The hotel does not provide breakfast. Lobby area has an unpleasant smell (coming from the drainage just outside the hotel main entrance. Hope they could do something about it as it’s not appealing at all for the hotel. We stayed for 2 nights but no housekeeping was done. No hand towels, only 2 bath towels that looks very old though still clean. Staff at the reception counter were quite helpful. On the whole, for the price it’s still worthwhile.

Our stay was absolutely fantastic! Everything was perfect from start to finish. The service really stood out — the staff at check-in and check-out were incredibly welcoming and efficient, making everything smooth and easy. Special thanks to Mr. Hong, Mr. Adi and Mr. Maran! The room was spotless and very comfortable, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The rooftop bar was a highlight, with stunning views, and attentive service. The pool area was also amazing — relaxing, clean, and beautifully maintained. Overall, an excellent experience that I would highly recommend to anyone!

The hotel looks a little old, but everything is really well maintained and clean. The facilities are great, especially the gym. It’s fully equipped with dumbbells, barbells and all kinds of machines for different workouts. There’s also a sauna, steam room and hot and cold jacuzzis, all in good working condition. The location is perfect, right along Gurney Drive. Get a sea view room if you can because the view is amazing whether it’s sunrise or sunset. It’s also super convenient with Gurney Plaza and Gurney Paragon just a short walk away, and plenty of food options nearby. Taking a Grab to town takes only about 10 minutes. Breakfast was really good too. There’s a wide mix of local and international dishes that change daily, plus an egg and roti canai station where you can order fresh. Service was okay, though the staff weren’t as warm as I expected from a five star hotel. Overall, it was a comfortable stay in a great location with solid facilities and food.

Staffs were friendly and helpful. Able to get corner room with good Komtar tower and sea view. Check-in/out process was done fast and smoothly, no deposit collected. Room very spacious, comfortable king bed and 4 big pillow provided. Location is in main road to many attractions and local restaurants and free city bus stop no. 7 just in front of the hotel. Breakfast was splendid with very good variety of local, Chinese and Japanese meals. Really recommended!

★★★★☆ Great Hotel for a Concert at Spice Arena! We chose the Amari Spice Hotel specifically for its proximity to the Spice Arena, as we were there to attend the MYFM concert, and it was the perfect choice for that purpose. The location could not have been more convenient. Pros: Excellent Location for Spice Arena: If you have an event at the arena, this is arguably the best place to stay. It's just a short walk away. Spacious & Clean Rooms: Our room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. It had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. Reasonably Priced: We found the price to be very reasonable for the quality and space provided, offering great value. Plenty of Food Options: There are many eatery places nearby, making it easy to find a meal at any time. A Note on Location: While the location is perfect for the Spice Arena, it's worth noting that it is a bit far from George Town's city centre if you're planning to explore the heritage sites and murals. You'll need to take a Grab or taxi to get there. Overall: We had a very good stay and would definitely choose this hotel again if we're back in Penang for another event at the Spice Arena!

Staff so friendly. Location surrounded by eateries. Check out the free city bus just behind the hotel. Very convinient. Hotel staff friendly, clean room, and amazing breakfast.

Fast check in process by Mr Saran. Easy parking access (no need to take any parking ticket. Receptionist will register your car plate number and you can enter and out from parking lot how many time you want). Requested birthday decorations and im so happy when i saw the decoration. It was so amazing! And we get small cake too! Thanks St Giles Wembley Penang for this hospitality! Booked Premier King room. I was impressed by the cleanliness and comfort room. The room was spacious. The bed was comfortable just the pillow is a bit hard for me. Nice view from the room. Quiet room. Breakfast 9/10. Many varieties of food. Delicious! Especially the taufufa. I repeat 3 times 😊. Gym is pretty nice and had adequate equipment. Pool view is Komtar 💜 Great location. Walking distance to 1st Avenue Mall, and most places. Hope this hotel will maintain the services, and cleanliness for long time. Will certainly return to St Giles Wembley Hotel on my next visit to Penang.

We were also pleasantly surprised with a spacious room and a stunning city view, which made the celebration even more special. I had a great stay at this hotel. Although the property is a bit old, everything was very clean and the service was excellent. The room was spacious, and I could see a beautiful sunset right from the window. The location is also very convenient, it’s easy to get anywhere from here. There’s even a night market just downstairs with lots of famous local food stalls. Overall, a very pleasant experience!
