The room was decent—clean and tidy—but the air conditioning definitely needs servicing. The elevator situation was frustrating, with extremely long wait times. I also encountered an unpleasant experience with a cleaning supervisor and a particular Indonesian staff member, whose behavior was quite rude and unprofessional.
Additionally, maintenance workers were moving rubbish, cleaning equipment, and even ladders through guest areas, which felt disorganized and poorly managed. It seems like there is a lack of proper oversight for staff responsible for building and room upkeep.
Another issue was the parking space assigned to me, which remained flooded for two days. This property is not well-suited for the elderly or individuals with disabilities due to accessibility concerns.
Overall, I was disappointed with the experience and will not be considering this place for future stays in Penang.
A Fantastic Stay in Prai!
We had a wonderful experience at Citadines Prai Penang. The room was clean, modern, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchenette and washing machine were especially useful for our family trip. Staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. The location is great—convenient for both leisure and business. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!
Had a wonderful stay! The bed was extremely comfortable, and the room was spotless. Personal care amenities were excellent. Buffet breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious options. We were pleasantly surprised with a free upgrade to a seaview room — the view was stunning. Everything was well taken care of – highly recommended!
Helpful staff and good location. Suggest to travel by Grab for places of interest within Georgetown to avoid hassle of parking. Walls a little thin and could faintly hear noises from outside, else everything is good.
The hotel is a walking distance to the famous Iyer Itam wet market. You can have breakfast here before walking towards the Kek Lok Si temple. The hotel room isn't a big one but it provides the basic amenities that one needs. Overall it is clean. Mini fridge, TV, hair dryer, water kettle and air cond all working well. The bed is comfortable too.
Travel with big huge family members.
Room is big. Nice floor for swimming pool n gym.
Love it.
Hotel lobby is nice with bar attachable.
Opposite is garden n alot of facilities for children to play around.
Walking distance to mall n gurney fodd court.
Next to hotel can easily get beers n snacks.
Very suitable flor family vacation with lot of activities for kids. The swimming pool is sheltered, hence, kid can play even under the hot sun. The room cone with balcony with sea view. All staffs are very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast is awesome with lots of choices. The beach is clean and plenty of water activities to try. There are 2 indoor playgrounds which are free and payable. Parents can let the kids enjoy the playground while relaxing
The Millen is an elegant hotel, beautifully crafted to make us feel like we'd stepped into one of the HGTV designed homes! We'd booked a room with seaview on 6 July 3025, and were given a high floor. It was so great to wake up to the sun reflecting on the sea. The bathroom with 2 vanities was so big and spacious, and the bathtub was right beside the window with the magnificent view! The hotel incorporated modern technology to make our stay so user friendly - a tap of the room card in the lift sensor will bring us directly to our level (there are only 4 buttons to press to go to the public areas). The curtains in the room opened/closed with the touch of a button too. We enjoyed the breakfast main courses at the Lili. All the staff were friendly and helpful; they decorated our room for husband's birthday, and served us a slice of cake upon check-in (and welcome drinks at the reception). We will definitely recommend this hotel to our friends and relatives!
The check-in process was very slow despite the friendliness and service from the receptionist who was very polite and kind. The room was very comfortable, spacious and clean. The food choices at breakfast were quite limited but worth it. And again, the service of the staff here was top-notch and very good, so well done and thank you to the hotel team for that.
This hotel is pretty new, comfortable, clean, spacious and located in the heart of the city. The front officer, Sazzu is very hospitable and friendly. The housekeeping, a Nepal guy is friendly and hardworking to keep the room clean. Next to the hotel is one of the famous biscuits shop in Penang. However, the better biscuits is ”Him Heang” which is not far away from hotel too. Within walking distance you can get to many eateries, convenience shops and cafes. If you can walk, it's easy to walk around the city to enjoy Penang.
Else, it is very easy to take a Grab to tour the city with reasonable fare. It is an enjoyable stay for me and I will come back again.

Good
SSangeetthis hotel is good overall, but when we arrived, they told us that we didn't have a booking with them and they couldn't locate our booking and details. the room was also said to be taken, and they are waiting for a cancellation in order to get our room. There is a lot of confusion among staff. some visitors were told to leave their rooms once they have entered. we waiting 1 hr 30 min to get our room. so check in was at 4.30pm. parking was also very inconvenient, as we had to park at the basement, which was impossible to even get one if you came into the hotel late and a T&G card was also needed to get validated before leaving the hotel if we wanted a free spot. Room was very spacious and clean. the tea and coffee was hard like its never been changed.
EEllynaminBayview Hotel Georgetown Penang is a well-located, value-packed option with a standout rooftop dining experience—best suited for those who can overlook its dated look and occasional service hiccups. If you prioritize convenience, ambience, and space without needing modern finishes, it’s a solid choice..
SSPSLHelpful staff and good location. Suggest to travel by Grab for places of interest within Georgetown to avoid hassle of parking. Walls a little thin and could faintly hear noises from outside, else everything is good.
GGuest UserFirst time staying at the Grand Ol Dame of Penang, celebrating its 140th anniversary. Stayed for 2 nights and the experience was great. Room was spacious and comfortable, facing the sea and you wake up to the sounds of crashing waves. Service was excellent. Breakfast was great, with cook-to-order char koay teow and roti canai, in addition to the standard eggs station. Hotel location was strategic, with plenty of food options a simple Grab ride away. The only thing lacking was the TV, coffee machine and fridge in the room, all of which could use an upgrade.
WWinston6971First time staying in St Giles Wembley Penang. Location in Georgetown is very convenient to visit various tourist attractions. Hotel room is spacious. Receptions, housekeeping and cafe staffs helpful and friendly. Will definitely book the hotel again next time travelling to Penang.

UunaanaanaaIt was a rushed booking, but they didnt dissapoint. Went as celebration for birthday and everything was good. Hotel was kind enough to give us complimentary birthday cake when we told them.
Food: only tried the breakfast buffet, 8/10. So many varieties, and they were good except for the sambal nasi lemak.
Room: Bed, soooooo comfy. And you can change the pillow as to your likings. The bar soap, shower gel etc smells herbs, similar to the spa.
Facilities: the pool is okay, there are few board games that you can play at the lounge, but that’s about it.
Location: the beach is not private but it’s so near to the food hawker stalls (and pretty btw), they happened to have fire show during our stay, and it’s magnificent.
AAnonymous Userdecent sized room with gorgeous view, can see the mountain as well as the sea. Buildings nearby are very low, so you can see miles away. Professional staff especially at reception. They are carrying genuine smile and ready to assist. I would say they are more proactive than those five~star hotels i stayed in Penang and Langkwawi during this trip.
However i really wish staff at concierge (night shift) can be more cautious and careful when handling shipment including parcels delivered to the hotel. They could have checked the identity of the one who pick up the parcel instead of not validating and allow anyone to go over to the counter to pick up by themselves. in the end who will bear the responsibility if the parcel was lost?
GGuest UserPleasant Family Stay in Penang
We stayed one night with family and had a comfortable and enjoyable experience. The room and bathroom were spacious, clean, and very comfortable—perfect for families with kids.
The location is excellent, with many food options nearby. Even without the hotel breakfast, it was easy to find good local food in the area.
The kids really enjoyed the swimming pool, especially the mini water park with slides and a playground, although the pool area was a bit small.
One downside was the lack of basic in-room amenities like toothbrush and toothpaste, shower cap, cotton buds, soap bar, and a hair dryer.
Overall, a pleasant stay and a good option for families. Would stay again if basic essentials are improved.
RRaphayFirst of all, a big thank you to Mr. Vickneswaran from the security team for his warm guidance and assistance from the moment we entered the auto parking system. He was incredibly helpful in showing us where to go and made us feel very welcomed right from the start.
To my surprise, one of the staff members even shared a piece of cake and wished us a wonderful honeymoon vacation—such a thoughtful gesture! (I was so touched, I forgot to ask for the staff’s name.) Moments like these really made our stay memorable.
Overall, the staff were genuinely friendly, helpful, and made us feel appreciated throughout our visit. I’ve also included a photo of the lovely card greeting we received from the team—another sweet touch that we’ll always remember.
Thank you again to the whole team for making our honeymoon start with such warm hospitality!
