"I really, really love the city of Penang and feel it's worth exploring in more depth. This was the last hotel we stayed at before leaving Penang. I spent a long time choosing it on Trip.com. Although its location isn't in the center of George Town, it's still convenient to get around with Grab. I really liked the overall environment. From check-in to the room facilities, everything was great – spacious rooms, good interior layout, pleasant surroundings, and a pool with a fantastic view. The rooms even had hot and cold water dispensers, which was very convenient! With such a great experience up to that point, I never expected to be let down by breakfast before check-out. After ordering, we waited for the 'first' hour, which messed up my plans to go swimming. Then we continued waiting for the 'second' hour… we might even miss our flight. This is truly outrageous and a complete waste of travelers' time!"

"No window, but it didn't feel stuffy. The room was clean and well-equipped. They were flexible with check-in/out times, and there was luggage storage available. The location is super convenient and the price is good. I'll definitely book again if I return to Penang."

"I booked two rooms with induction cooktops, which was very convenient. I felt like it could even accommodate five or six people at most (just exaggerating, haha!). It's only one or two kilometers from the city center, perfect for a city walk. The lady at the front desk was very beautiful; I wonder if she was Indian. The gym facilities and washing machine are great for families!"

"We were a family of five, including two adults, two elderly family members, and a 4-year-old boy, and stayed at JEN Penang for two nights. The hotel is in a very convenient location, with shopping malls and many well-known local restaurants within a 5 to 10-minute walking distance. However, due to Penang's hot and humid weather, I would not recommend walking outdoors between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Breakfast offered a reasonable variety of options and was sufficient for a pleasant start to the day. The hotel has a swimming pool, although it is relatively small. One side of the pool, which accounts for about one-third of its size, has a depth of 2 metres. As a result, the usable space for younger swimmers is somewhat limited, and the pool can feel crowded during the afternoon. There is also a separate children's pool, which is suitable for toddlers aged around 2 to 3 years old. While the hotel generally met our expectations, it does feel a little dated in some areas. We also encountered some cleanliness issues in our bathroom, which was disappointing and not quite what we expected from a property under the Shangri-La Group. In addition, it would be a nice touch if children's amenities could be provided proactively at check-in for families travelling with young children, rather than requiring guests to request them separately. Overall, the hotel's excellent location, friendly service, and family-friendly facilities make it a good choice for exploring George Town and Penang. With some improvements to housekeeping standards and family amenities, the guest experience could be even better."

"The room was clean and smelled nice upon entry. The water pressure was good, and all amenities were provided. The only downside was that the soundproofing wasn't great. The breakfast selection was limited. However, the location was excellent, close to many dinner options, cafes, and restaurants. The staff provided good service. It was definitely worth the price I paid. Also, it's close to souvenir shops."

"It's a very new hotel with a free gym. The location is a bit remote, but it's close to Bukit Mertajam if you have a car. The rooms are large and comfortable, the bed is big and easy to sleep in, and they even provide four pillows. Almost a perfect hotel!"

"The hospitality of the staff was exceptional and easily the highlight of the stay. Unfortunately that alone couldn’t make up for the condition of the rooms and facilities, which are in need of refurbishment and better maintenance. The room had a strong musty smell and was noticeably dusty. Not too sure if proper quality checks were carried out before guests checked in. It felt as though the room may have been left vacant for an extended period and only used when occupancy increased. The overall maintenance could be significantly improved. Another issue was the hot water which took around 5–10 minutes to heat up before it was warm enough for a shower. Other than that, I still had a decent stay."

"24 hours check in. Very convenient for me since my work always finish late. Every level got water filter machine near the elevator. The Ipoh one also like this. I guess all Travelodge use water fikter machine instead of giving out bottled water. The breakfast cafe is small, not variety of food but enough for you to eat for the day."
