Novotel Makkah Thakher City is really not recommended, seriously. The bus stop for its shuttle is very far from the Haram; just walking from the Haram to the shuttle stop alone can take about 30 - 40 minutes. The shuttle takes a long time to arrive at the hotel for pick up — once we waited 30 minutes, the shuttle isn’t always on standby. Once we wanted to go for Fajr prayer, we had to take a taxi because the shuttle didn’t come for a long time. This is from a real experience staying here for 2 nights. Because the Middle East current war, we got a flight reroute that depart 2 days earlier, so we had to add 2 nights at a nearby hotel, but the prices of the hotel close to Haram were already very expensive. We thought this Novotel’s shuttle would be like the one at Le Méridien Tower (shuttle bus stop close to haram - we stayed the on our previous trip), but this Novotel shuttle bus stop turned out to be too far, especially when we travel will elderly On the second day, we only went to the mosque to complete our umrah — we couldn’t handle going back and forth between the hotel and the mosque multiple times. *************, on the third day (2 days ago, when this comment was written), we moved to a nearby hotel that we had already booked long before.” Yes, nusuk approval was fast with this hotel, but what’s the point of fast approval if you still have to wait for the shuttle for an hour close to prayer time and still miss the congregation? Because of the long wait, we got stuck in traffic, and then walking from the bus to the mosque also took a very long time. Hopefully this can be a consideration for those planning to book — don’t regret it like we did, since we didn’t have many options because we booked late 😆”

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would happily return. From the moment I arrived, the staff were welcoming, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. The room was spotless, well-designed, and very comfortable, with all the amenities I needed for a relaxing stay. The location was excellent—convenient and easy to get around—while still being quiet and peaceful at night. I especially appreciated the attention to detail, from the quality of the bedding to the cleanliness of the common areas. Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations and offered great value for the price. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, excellent service, and a pleasant experience.

The location of the hotel is fabulous There are three routes to the masjid ul haram. One is exiting the lobby and turning left, walking up marriott and then turning right (you will see the haram to see what I mean) - then walk down the slight hill. The second is exiting the lobby, and walking left across the street, straight through hilton convention. The third is exiting the lobby, turning left and walking up the stairs that are next to Makkah Gate sign. You then turn left and head to haram down the escalators that everyone posts about online! It is hilly using route one or three, but not really an issue for walking or pram users. This is aside from two other ways to reach the haram: the marriott shuttle bus which drops you near conrad, near the I love Makkah area. Or, the golf buggy which takes you the same route as Walking Route One I mentioned above. Id recommend getting the buggy as its less crowded. The golf buggy comes to the same drop off spot to take you back. Shuttles buggys are really constant and timely, jus wait around. The marriott is opposite the Address hotels back entrance. There are wonderful coffee shops if you climb the stairs as mentioned in my Walking Route 3 I mentioned above. Great area to take children to play and run around. The mosque is part of the haram so every room has a live speaker during prayer time with mic volume to adjust. You can joim salaah from your room or go to the prayer room on floor 3. Reception gave us a cheaper breakfast or dinner price than online voucher places. Breakfast is average but convenient. There is a cafe on ground floor that serves nice hot or cold food anytime in the day. A baskin Robbins freezer is also there. Hotel staff and reception are lovely!!!

Everything was fine, but there was a problem with canceling the reservation on the second day. There was no prior notice about stopping Umrah pilgrims and allowing Hajj pilgrims to enter. Please make a note of this again if this issue recurs. Thank you.

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The location is excellent, with easy access to the Haram, making it very convenient for prayers and daily activities. The check-in and check-out process was smooth, the housekeeping team did a great job throughout our stay, and the breakfast spread offered a wide variety of options every day. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the Kaaba view from our room. It was truly a memorable and special experience that we will always cherish. Thank you to the entire team for the warm hospitality. We would gladly stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Makkah.

I had a wonderful stay at Jabal Omar Marriott Hotel Makkah. Everything about the experience exceeded my expectations. The hotel is extremely well-organized, making check-in and daily routines smooth and stress-free. One of the highlights was the cleanliness—every area of the hotel, from the rooms to the common spaces, was spotless and very well maintained. It really made the stay comfortable and relaxing. A special mention goes to the breakfast crew, who were absolutely fantastic. They were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere each morning. The service they provided truly stood out. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Makkah. It combines excellent service, great organization, and outstanding cleanliness for a truly enjoyable stay.

Fantastic hotel. Extremely clean (and fragrant lobby). We had a twin deluxe room with Haram view; spacious, comfortable and plush. Breakfast was also solid with good hours (6:00 to 10:30). We checked out on a Friday and they allowed us to check out after Jummah salah. The hotel is actually quite close to the Haram. From reviews online I was unsure, but in practice it's a few minutes walk to King Fahd Gate 79. For getting into the Haram I think it is quicker door-to-door than the Clock Tower hotels. For getting back from the Haram to the hotel, that is a bit longer depending on where you exit the masjid anddue to a slight uphill walk (nothing very demanding, non-elderly should be fine), though the walkway gets congested at busy times. Alternatively, there is a shuttle which takes you from the main hotel entrance to street level in less than 2 minutes; from there you take escalator/lift to the Haram. Would highly reccommend; only cons here would be no lotion in the bathroom and shower water pressure/temperature was not that high (very minor issues!)

AAnonymous UserPrice: Very cheap for a 4-star hotel. Good value for money. Location: Quite far, located in the an Naseem area, but like the vive there. Shuttle bus : very excellent and very punctual. Room: Overall okay, but the toilet is quite small. Breakfast: Has a good variety, but the menu is almost the same every day. I stayed for 7 nights and ended up eating nearly the same items daily. Staff: Generally okay, but there was a serious incident that affected my stay. One night, a bellman attempted to open my room door 2–3 times. Fortunately, I had engaged the inner lock, so he was unable to enter fully. He was accompanied by other outsiders, which was a clear breach of guest privacy and safety. I immediately made a complaint to the reception. They offered a room upgrade, but the room change process took a very long time. I waited from before Maghrib until after Isya, and eventually had to go to the reception myself to follow up. Wi-Fi: After changing to the new room, the Wi-Fi signal was very weak. I had to sit near the lift area just to get a stable and stronger internet connection, which was very inconvenient.

OOmarTayoThis is the best hotel I have ever stayed in Makkah. In terms of cleanliness, bed size, room service, and the hotel lobby—everything was outstanding. The best experience I had was with housekeeping, especially Mr. Ikter Husen at Tower 2, 14th floor (my room was 1404). His service and attention to detail were exceptional. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Makkah. The overall service, cleanliness, and attitude of all the staff are truly exceptional.

IIbra_Dear Trip.com Customer Support Team, I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding my recent stay at Mövenpick Hotel & Residence Hajar Tower Makkah, which was booked through your platform. Unfortunately, my experience did not meet the standards expected from a hotel of this category, nor the information confirmed prior to arrival. 1. Early Check-in Confirmation Not Honored Before my arrival, I received a message from the hotel requesting confirmation of my check-in time if it was before 12:00 PM. I confirmed this accordingly. However, upon arrival, I was informed that no room was available and was asked to wait until around 4:00 PM, under the pretext that this is the standard check-in time. This was both disappointing and exhausting, especially after travel, and contradicted the prior communication from the hotel. 2. Bathroom Plumbing Issue On the first day, I encountered a serious issue in the bathroom where water overflowed and accumulated, making it impossible to shower or even use the sink properly. Although the issue was eventually repaired, it significantly affected my comfort during the first day of my stay. 3. Repeated Unfulfilled Requests (Pillow and Blanket) I requested an extra pillow and blanket multiple times (at least four separate requests). Each time, I was assured that they would be delivered shortly, yet they never arrived. This reflects poor service follow-up and lack of coordination. 4. Incorrect Breakfast Restaurant Assignment At check-in, the reception staff encoded my room key with access to a breakfast restaurant that was extremely limited in size, overcrowded, and of noticeably low quality. Often, there were no available tables, forcing guests to wait. Every morning, hotel staff verified my eligibility to enter this restaurant. However, on the last day, a different employee informed me—unexpectedly—that my booking actually entitled me to access a higher-quality, more premium breakfast restaurant, which I immediately visited. This means I was wrongly deprived of the service level included in my booking for the majority of my stay. --- Considering all the above issues—miscommunication, delayed room availability, maintenance problems, poor service responsiveness, and incorrect service allocation—I believe this stay fell far below reasonable expectations. I kindly request that Trip.com review this matter and provide appropriate compensation for the inconvenience and service failures I experienced, whether in the form of a partial refund, Trip.com credit, or another suitable resolution. I trust Trip.com’s commitment to customer satisfaction and look forward to your response. Thank you for your time and attention. Kind regards, Ibrahim Ahmed

AAulia BimoOverall the hotel staff & receptionist services was very great. Unfortunately, we had bad experiences with the Majlis Restaurant & Cafe Staff services. They force us as the guest of the Raffles for any order with specific minimum order and payment, even though the time we visit is around 9.30 pm (local time), after the dinner. Please take the act as appropriate for any staff that not provide good service and humble to the Hotel Guest. Appreciated and thanks.

DDivine SoulAsal Al Rimal Hotel, Jeddah – A Spacious & Well-Located Hub with Excellent Service Hotel is an excellent choice for travelers seeking a spacious, centrally-located, and well-equipped hotel in the heart of Jeddah. It shines due to its prime location, practical amenities, and notably outstanding staff service, though it does not offer on-site dining. The hotel’s biggest strength is its perfect central location. You are right in the heart of Jeddah, making it easy to explore the city. Airport Access: King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED) is about 20km away, with a taxi fare of approximately 40-50 SAR. Key Attractions: · King Fahd Fountain: A major highlight! It is within a comfortable 1km walking distance (note: ignore Google Maps’ longer route suggestion). · Al Rahmah (Floating) Mosque: About 20km away, a taxi will cost around 30 SAR. And Albalad is at 15 SAR taxi cost. · Amenities: Numerous shops and eateries are within walking distance, which is very convenient. · This hotel is with 8 floors, offering a sense of space and avoiding any cramped feeling. · Rooms are a strong point, thoughtfully furnished with everything a traveler needs: a comfortable bed, TV, efficient AC, fridge, hairdryer, iron, ample cupboard space, and quality toiletries (shampoo, towels). · Daily cleaning service is provided and reliable. · On-Request Items: The staff is happy to provide extras like a tea kettle upon request. Exceptional Service: This is where the hotel truly excels. A special mention must be made for Mr. Kamal Uddian from room service. · He is highlighted as ”really great” – energetic, soft-spoken, and incredibly helpful. · His ability to speak Hindi is a major plus for Indian subcontinent travelers. · He goes above and beyond to assist with arranging food, cabs, or any other requests, making guests feel well-supported. The hotel does not have its own restaurant or room service for food. However, this is easily compensated for by the plethora of nearby walkable food shops and restaurants. Highly recommended for business travelers, tourists, and pilgrimage visitors (Umrah) looking for a clean, comfortable, and convenient base in Jeddah. The mcombination of location, room amenities, and Kamal's exemplary service makes for a very pleasant and hassle-free stay. Just be prepared to explore the local area for your meals.
