This was my first time visiting Fuzhou, and since I was traveling with family during the Chinese New Year, I booked three rooms for three nights. The hotel's location is excellent, right next to Wuyi Square, so you can walk over to watch the flag-raising ceremony, or even just enjoy the view from your room if you don't feel like going out! It's about a kilometer's walk from the hotel to Sanfang Qixiang, where you can really delve into the residences of famous figures from Fuzhou's modern history. On the morning of the first day of Chinese New Year, the hotel even organized a grand worship ceremony and a lion dance performance, which was a great experience for guests. My only suggestion would be: could the laundry facilities be made free of charge? It's a small expense that shouldn't really be charged for. I imagine there are very few hotels left in China that still charge for washing machines and dryers.

The location is fantastic, right on a food street with plenty of great restaurants and snack bars nearby. It's only a ten-minute walk to Quanzhou Ancient City's Confucius Temple and Zhongshan Road. Getting to the Maritime Museum and Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum takes just a 10-minute taxi ride. The lobby isn't huge but it's well-equipped. You're greeted by a subtle fragrance upon entering, and there's a reading and relaxation area, as well as a tea-tasting section. They also sell various cultural and creative products and local specialties, along with plenty of tourist guides and route suggestions. The room size is decent, and the layout is practical. I especially liked that the hairdryer was conveniently mounted on the wall next to the mirror – super easy to grab and put back. The amenities provided were also good. While the breakfast selection wasn't extensive, it had all the essentials. Food deliveries were brought right to the room by a robot, which was quick. On the downside, the room lighting was a bit dim, and the elevator felt a bit small and dated. Also, the stairs from the first to the second floor (where breakfast is served) looked a bit old. Overall, though, it offers great value for money and I'd recommend it.

For a few hundred bucks, I got a five-star experience here. I heard it's the best hotel in Fuzhou, and my stay definitely exceeded expectations. It's right next to a park, with a private walkway directly to the lakeside boardwalk – a very pleasant walk along the lake. **Room Amenities:** Although the hotel has been open for a while, the room facilities are excellent, spotless, and look brand new. While not huge, the space is well-planned, tastefully decorated, and pays attention to details. Toothbrushes are color-coded, there were welcome fruits like oranges and apples, and they even thoughtfully provided a safety fruit knife. The bathrobes were clean, and hand soap and lotion were provided. It was a very comfortable stay. The only minor drawback was that the floor-to-ceiling window wasn't very convenient for ventilation. **Cleanliness:** I'm a bit of a clean freak and usually wipe down everything with disinfectant wipes when I check into a hotel. I can confirm it's very clean; even the tissues weren't dirty. **Breakfast:** Absolutely fantastic! They have live cooking stations with Fuzhou local snacks, including satay noodles and Fuzhou拌面 (mixed noodles), all with authentic flavors – no need to eat out! Other varieties are plentiful, with both Chinese and Western options, and fresh ingredients. What's rare is the wide selection of hot drinks, which is great for people with sensitive stomachs. There's a machine where you can choose from about six hot drinks like red bean and barley, and multi-grain beverages. The pastries were also delicious, not just a throw-in. The beverages were high-quality, like snow pear and white fungus soup, and I even saw bottled Beibingyang soda and wine, which I tried and found to be very good. **Bed:** Quite comfortable, medium-firm. **Parking:** Free parking is available, and there are plenty of spaces on the ground level. Just inform the front desk of your license plate number. **Service:** Excellent and very heartwarming. Seeing that we were a family, they proactively offered an extra breakfast. Later, I stayed at Atour, which was around the same price, but they charged 48 yuan per person for breakfast unless you upgraded to a member to get it free – a world of difference! **Value for Money:** Very high, highly recommended.

As soon as we got off the car, the waiter helped us take our luggage and sent it to the room. The room was quite large, in good sanitary condition, with all kinds of facilities. The service attitude of the front desk staff was also very good. The breakfast was rich in variety, and there was an electric car to deliver it to the hotel gate. The hotel environment is very good, the geographical location is excellent, and it is very close to the ancient city of Zhangzhou. My mother and I are very satisfied with our stay and will choose to stay here again in the future.

Our stay in the Kempinski Hotel's city view suite during Chinese New Year was excellent. The room was spacious and bright. The evening happy hour at the executive lounge offered high-quality food and a diverse selection of drinks, all while overlooking the beautiful Yuandang Lake. Located right by Yuandang Lake, we enjoyed lovely and peaceful evening strolls along the shore, admiring the charming night scenery. We initially booked the suite before the holiday and had an Executive King Room reserved for after. Mr. Chen and Mr. Su were incredibly thoughtful and attentive. To save us the hassle of moving rooms, they kindly arranged for us to extend our stay in the original suite, which we truly appreciate! On the second day of the ***** New Year, the hotel's lion dance performance added a wonderful festive atmosphere. The lobby decorations and the God of Wealth distributing candies to guests in the lobby on the second day were also very delightful! I also want to give a special shout-out to Sunny from the hotel's breakfast department. She was full of energy and vitality every day, greeting guests at the entrance with a radiant smile and a sweet voice, ensuring everyone had a wonderful dining experience!

Staying at the InterContinental Quanzhou, just like Wu Lei! The lobby, inspired by the concept of 'Xuan' (a traditional Chinese pavilion), blends ancient Minnan architecture with modern design – I was immediately struck by its sophistication upon entering. The room also boasts fantastic views; the large floor-to-ceiling windows offer a bright and airy feel that's incredibly comfortable. Outside, you're directly overlooking the sea, a cable-stayed bridge, and a Ferris wheel. They say there's only one thing to do at the InterContinental: lie back and watch the Ferris wheel sunset! The hotel is right next to Taihe Mall, and getting to most tourist spots and the city center only takes about 15-20 minutes by car, making it very convenient for getting around. The hotel rooms are clean and comfortable, the bedding is incredibly soft, and the hairdryer is excellent. All the little details are perfectly executed. Quanzhou is addictive, and I'd choose to stay at Taihe countless times again. Chinese tea set: plenty of tea varieties. Coffee capsules: convenient.

The hotel room I booked was a Luxury Executive River View Room, facing the southwest corner. The views and natural light were excellent, and privacy was high. It's truly one of Fuzhou's top room types. The interior space is large, with mostly wooden flooring and some carpeting – very impressive. The hotel also features a pool and gym with fantastic views, as well as an afternoon tea restaurant, all of which are of a very high standard. The afternoon tea cakes are freshly made, and the breakfast selection is quite rich and delicious, with fresh and light flavors. If I had to mention any shortcomings, it would be that some in-room facilities could be upgraded. For instance, the toilet isn't automatic, and the showerhead and faucet operation are a bit too traditional and impractical. There aren't full-room electric curtains, and the TV clarity isn't great. Also, the toothbrushes and toothpaste aren't from a well-known brand. If they could upgrade these details, it would be perfect. **Cleanliness**: Very clean and tidy, satisfactory. **Service**: There's butler service and reception at the entrance to help with luggage, etc. Check-in required queuing due to many guests, but the service felt very good. **Environment/Location**: The location is excellent, right in the city center. Minjiang Park is right at your doorstep, and nearby shopping malls and attractions are not far, all within a short taxi ride. This room design is very suitable for couples.

The room was spacious with two 1.8m beds, exactly as shown in the pictures. It was plenty big enough for three adults and two children. The location is also excellent; it's a short taxi ride to most attractions, and when we had no evening plans, we could just go shopping downstairs. They even gave candy to the kids at checkout, which was a very thoughtful touch!

EElizabeth Frances RoseThis place makes me wish there was an option for six stars. I study Asian art for a living, and I travelled to Jianyang to visit the home of Jian ware, classic tea bowls of the Song dynasty (960 to 1279 CE), distinguished by their black and brown glazes. Over the last few decades, firing Jian ware in the Song tradition has been revived in the area. I chose Nanping Colourful Village Homestay because it was in Jianyang, affordable, and accepted international guests. What I found was a luxury resort with all the warmth and personal attention of a homestay. I asked the front desk about an excavated Song kiln site in a nearby village, and the receptionist brought me the manager, who arranged for someone to take me the next day. My driver was Ms. Huang, an employee of the resort whose job involves buying and selling contemporary pieces. She knew everything about Jian ware! The kiln site isn’t run as a tourist site, so I was only able to view it because Ms. Huang arranged for it to be opened for me. I had told them I was vegetarian, so for lunch they took me to lunch at a vegetarian buffet. Then we visited the town’s Jian ware museum, where they have exhibits on the history of tea and Jian ware, historical pieces, and the work of contemporary Jianyang potters. To my delight, Mr. Gao, the potter-in-residence at the resort, uses a Song-style wood-fired dragon kiln, built right on the grounds! His pieces that range from beautiful but quite affordable to exquisite and appropriately expensive. They include both iridescent silvery oil spot and orange-to-black hare’s fur pieces. I am still thrilled that I was able to purchase wood-fired pieces on my limited budget. For dinner, the resort’s restaurant prepared vegetarian versions of Fujian cuisine for me. The food was all delicious, featuring classic Fujianese mountain ingredients like local bamboo and mushrooms. Then we visited Mr. Gao’s dragon kiln, and later his studio, where he experiments with different local clays and glaze recipes. The rich colours and iridescence of Jian ware are the result of the iron-rich local material fired at high temperature, and the results are as unpredictable as they are beautiful. The next day, they drove me to Mr. Chen’s family tea plantation in the mountains, where they grow famous northern Fujian teas. These fine teas were all wonderful, smooth and rich with a touch of smoke, and sometimes fruity in flavour. We strolled through mountainsides of tea bushes and visited groves of centuries-old tea trees. This is a perfect place for an immersive experience in China that is also very comfortable and convenient. I often find tourist experiences in China claustrophobic due to the press of people, but the resort was spacious and airy, and they took me to places where there was no one else but us and the occasional local going about their business. Everyone was very patient with my limited Chinese language skills. They were also happy to work with translator apps on our phones, so if you don’t speak any Chinese, you will be fine. This would be a great place to come as a family. There are gardens and rides for kids right next to the resort. You can learn how to whip Song-style tea and carve your name into the base of your own Jian ware cup. Not far away is a historical theme park with a collection of real architecture from the Ming (1368 to 1644 CE) and Qing (1636 to 1912 CE) dynasties. The employees wear period dress and there are performances and activities. Nearby there are hiking trails, historical sites, and lovely villages to visit. It’s also very close to Wuyi Mountain National Park, so it would be a perfect place to stay if the mountains are your destination. If you ask, they could arrange for you to visit famous sites or take you to breathtaking places that only locals know, whatever you want. They can also arrange transport to and from the train station or airport.

Iivy_5471Every year when I come to Xiamen, I stay at the Swiss Grand for a few days, and this is my fourth time. What attracts me most to the Swiss Grand is its excellent location and rooms directly facing Gulangyu Island. I have to say, the Swiss Grand meets all my needs for a trip to Xiamen. First, let's talk about the location. It's situated in the heart of Siming District, right next to Zhongshan Road. You can walk to Bashi Market, the Botanical Garden, and Xiamen Ferry Terminal. Taking a taxi to Nanputuo Temple, Shapowei, the Twin Towers, and Xiamen University is always just the starting fare. The Exit to the hotel is also the starting station of Metro Line 1, which goes directly to Gaoqi Airport. Then there's the room facing Gulangyu Island – it's absolutely unbeatable! It completely matches my aesthetic. Whenever I sit by the floor-to-ceiling window in my room, enjoying the beautiful Gulangyu Island opposite, with a cup of black tea, I feel utterly content. What's even more impressive is that the room is very spacious, well-equipped, and the quality is consistently high. It offers excellent value for money! The breakfast is very rich, with a wide variety of Western and Chinese options, plus local specialties – you name it, they have it, and it all tastes great. The service is excellent; the greeters at the entrance are very attentive. The front desk was a bit ordinary, but customer service responded promptly and was always helpful. The only slight drawback was the slow check-in process. This might be due to the hotel being fully booked during the Chinese New Year holiday, but it also reflects that the hotel doesn't have good solutions for handling such surges in guests. We waited over an hour to check in, and at that time, one guest had waited three hours and still hadn't gotten into their room, and ended up arguing with the front desk... This had a very negative impact on the hotel's image. I hope they can further improve their management during holidays!

SSugaryblueHad a comfortable stay at this hotel! It is well situated at a convenient location with a 15mins stroll to the nearby mall. Facilities were well equipped, room was clean and breakfast was ample. It was sweet that they served fruit plate and dessert to my room during the evening. They have their own huge spa centre around the corner, though I only discovered it at the end of my sta. At the same time, the individually operated massage place at the hotel lobby was just as convenient. Highly recommended if you are staying in Shishi!

CChidaobaoThere was one staff member, 'Jingjing,' who particularly stood out. She was incredibly dedicated in her introductions and very good at solving problems, leaving a fantastic first impression of the hotel. When checking out, I encountered several housekeeping staff, and one lady in a black uniform was also very kind, repeatedly reminding us to call for the shuttle. I believe she might be a supervisor in that area. She even spoke Fuzhou dialect with my mother. I will definitely arrange future events here. I'm so satisfied that I wanted to write a bit more – these excellent frontline staff members are truly an asset and the management should definitely retain them.

He always helped me to find the car and picked up the things we left at the B&B! ! ! The overall experience is great

The facilities are new, and the front desk staff, seeing we had a lot of luggage, kindly upgraded us to a larger room for free, which was really thoughtful – a big thank you! Also, the bedding in this hotel is super comfortable, just the right firmness. Breakfast is plentiful and tastes great too! There's even a helipad on the hotel's rooftop that guests can visit for photos, though it's only open for one hour each in the morning, afternoon, and evening. You can catch the sunrise in the morning and sunset in the evening, but unfortunately, the timing didn't work out for our visit, so it wasn't open. All in all, this is a really great hotel!
