Amazing place with amazing staff! Facilities are just absolutely amazing and the food is just so authentic and tasty.
I also want to say that I have tattoos so, I wasn't able to enter the public onsens but the privates and the one in my room barely made me miss it.
Also, souvenir shop is great and the yukatas that they lend you are just absolutely lovely.

Good location easily accessible by bus. The river view not much value add. Amenities are adequate would be better to provide the yutata for loan for full onsen experience. The bath in the room isn't onsen water which is a pity. Restaurant is a little over priced for the quality of food. Overall service and experience are above average.

Absolutely love this place! The staff are very friendly, and the onsen is clean and well-maintained. There are 3 outdoor pools and 2 indoor pools, along with a steam room and sauna, which make for a relaxing experience.
The facility is open for both day trips and overnight stays, but staying overnight is much better for a more chill and leisurely time.
There’s a massage chair available, but it requires payment. Breakfast is also delicious and definitely worth it.
The only downside is the location—it’s not very convenient and requires some walking. If you’re traveling light, it’s manageable. They do have a payable shuttle bus, but the timing isn’t great. Walking can be pleasant if the weather’s nice, or you can opt for a taxi.
Overall, I’ll definitely book this place again for the relaxing atmosphere!

My second stay in this hotel, staffs are friendly, foods are great.
For those who is coming the first time, please take the train from station 51 and get off at station 55 (Kowakidani).
From station 55, you can either
1) walk for 15 mins to the hotel
Or 2) take the mini 10 seats shuttle bus from 2-5 pm (every 10-15 mins), just wait at the exit. If you need a pick up outside of this time, call the hotel and they will pick you up (a local Japanese phone number in the picture attached)

An extremely satisfying experience. The bus stop is conveniently located about a five-minute walk from the hotel, along a wide main road that's easy to navigate even with luggage. The Japanese-Western style room with a semi-open-air bath I booked had its own private entrance, situated just outside the main lobby in an adjacent building. This offered fantastic privacy and sound insulation. The room, at 72 square meters, was much larger than I expected and impeccably clean. The private hot spring bath also featured natural onsen water, with a detailed description of its mineral content conveniently displayed by the tub. Outside, there was also a beautiful small Japanese garden. As there didn't seem to be many restaurants nearby, I opted for the half-board plan (dinner and breakfast). The shabu-shabu beef served for dinner was superb; all three of us ate until we were completely full. This family-style Japanese onsen hotel offered incredibly high value for money!

**Positives:**
✅ **Modern & Clean:** Well-maintained, spacious rooms with comfortable onsen.
✅ **Good Location:** Convenient access to surrounding areas.
**Areas for Improvement:**
⚠️ **Room Location:**
- Room extremely far from dining/foot bath – exhausting daily walks (especially with foot concerns).
- *Suggestion:* Offer closer room options or service for guests with mobility needs.
⚠️ **Dining Experience (Dinner & Breakfast):**
- **Food Quality:** Lamb not fresh; overall quality below ”1 stay 2 meals” onsen standard. No beef , only lamb meat is not fresh. Not satisfied with the food quality. We wanna have cup noodles after meal.
Breakfast is slight better.
- **Variety:** Insufficient choices (both Western & Japanese); lacked local/seasonal specialties expected at onsen hotels. Pretty disappointed.
We been to many onsen hotel in Japan. Never encountered this.
- **Service/Clarity:** Buffet poorly organized; unclear signage led to confusion over food availability.
- **Expectations:** Meals didn’t showcase regional ingredients or highlight local cuisine like other onsen resorts. Hakone is famous onsen should showcase their seasonal ingredients in this region.
**Summary:**
Strong potential with modern facilities, but **critical improvements needed in dining quality** and **room accessibility** to meet onsen hotel standards.

The hotel was better than we expected. After a long commute from Tokyo we found the hotel very easy, 5 min walking distance on a straight line from the station. Inside they are stylish and clean, the beds are comfortable, the library area is so cosy and the free snacks and coffee, tea, soft beverages, even free drinks after 19:00 are such a saviors as the shops are closing early so there is nothing you can buy )). The private onsen on the 3rd floor was very clean and relaxing.
If I were to come to Hakone again, I would chose the hotel without hesitation.
Peaceful and comfortable
Opened just a year ago after a complete renovation, this is a very modern hotel. Since all the ground-floor, ocean-facing spaces are restaurants, the hotel lobby is uniquely located on the 12th floor. This scenic lobby also doubles as a café, where guests can sit on the outdoor balcony overlooking the view. There's a designated smoking area by the side entrance of the lobby.
The facilities are brand new, and the layout is clean, spacious, and stylish. We stayed in a triple room, and even with suitcases open, there was still plenty of space – perfectly suited to Chinese guests' preferences. The bedding is high quality and available for purchase.
Let's talk about breakfast. Upon check-in, guests are informed of two options: Japanese breakfast, served at the 12th-floor café, and Western breakfast, served at the 1st-floor Western restaurant. The Japanese option offers three set menus, while the Western option features four main sets. After ordering, you can help yourself to the buffet bar for salads, drinks, bread, and more. The Western breakfast was so delicious that we didn't get a chance to try the Japanese one.
Regarding the hotel's location, opinions may vary. Most people might choose to stay in Sakuragicho or Minato Mirai, as this hotel is a bit off the beaten path, situated near Yamashita Park. The Summer Festival is held here, allowing visitors to truly experience the atmosphere of traditional Japanese festivals. The hotel faces the sea, directly opposite the Hikawa Maru ocean liner. As the only surviving international ocean liner from WWII, it's definitely worth boarding and exploring. It's a 5-minute walk from the hotel to the subway station, providing easy access to all Yokohama stops. Directly across the street is a bus stop with direct service to Haneda Airport, with buses running almost every hour. Within a 5-minute walk, you'll find Takashimaya department store; Chinatown is 10 minutes away, as is a massive Don Quijote store. A lifestyle plaza is a 20-minute walk, and there's also a Montbell outlet store where we spent four hours. This outlet store offers tax-free shopping, but it requires downloading a third-party app and incurs a 3% service fee, which makes the process a bit inconvenient.
Yokohama truly lives up to its reputation as an international port city. Around the hotel, you'll find a wide array of Western restaurants, with impeccable ambiance and cuisine, and even handsome waiters. It's a very cosmopolitan city.

Great service provided by hotel okada , staffs was friendly and helpful , provided useful information of hotel hot springs bath facilities and restaurants for customer , transport service provided for traveling between hakone Yumoto train station and hotel for customer accessible to day tour around the region , highly recommended for a great holidays experience.
This hotel is so beautiful, a combination of modern and modern. The breakfast view is as beautiful as a painting. Entering from another door is a historical site. It is a hotel where MacArthur and Chaplin once stayed. It is full of historical sense and very photogenic. I hope to stay a few more days next time.

Amazing
AAnonymous UserOn the first day, there was a foreign girl for reception, because when booking, we booked four single beds. We wanted to change one of the double beds into two single beds. She also smiled and promised and quickly came over to help us divide the bed sheets. The next day a local boy, when we asked him to take the garbage bag, he also hurried to the locker room to give us several garbage bags.
The view is very good and even more beautiful than the photo when the weather is sunny, and the parking lot is also parking.
There are refrigerators, tableware, knives, induction cookers, etc. Let us cook, there is a big supermarket nearby. It would be perfect if the induction cooker could be moved out of the kitchen.
Overall satisfaction, will be recommended to friends.
GGuest UserThe hotel is cheap and good. It should be said that the room size is the largest among Japanese hotels. The room is clean and tidy, with complete facilities. There is a mountain view outside the window, and the field of vision is relatively wide. It is relatively comfortable to live there. As the flight was delayed, it was already early in the morning when we arrived at the hotel, but the staff was still very welcoming. It's just that the hotel does not have Chinese service, so you need to know a little Japanese to communicate.
GGuest UserIt was good that it was relatively close to the station. Overall it was clean, but when I opened the lid to turn on the air conditioner, there was a lot of dust on it. I was surprised at first, thinking it was mold. There were various types of shampoo and conditioner for rent next to the front desk, and they also provided bath salts, which was very nice. It was close to the train tracks, so the noise of the trains was a bit annoying. The Hotel Metro sign on top of the hotel felt old-fashioned and like a love hotel, so I think it would be easier to use if it was more modern, such as by writing it in English. When I went out, there were so many people around that it was embarrassing. I've written a lot, but overall I'm satisfied. Thank you.
