I do recommend this hotel because I love since welcome drink with luggage storage before checking in. The hotel provided me with nice Sushi restaurants around. In the evening, Alcohol buffet was served with unlimited drinks at hotel with nice atmosphere. I also love Onsen and swimming pool on the top! My first time here with full impressive moment here.
This is a quintessential Japanese onsen ryokan. We enjoyed a delicious wagyu kaiseki dinner and breakfast in our room, though the dessert was a bit simple. We stayed for two nights and were pleasantly surprised by both meals. The ryokan has four different communal baths (onsen) for men and women, which we made sure to enjoy every morning and evening. Soaking in the open-air bath while gazing at the sky was incredibly relaxing.
The hotel's location is quite far from the station, about a 25-minute walk. However, they do offer pick-up and drop-off service from the station, which we didn't arrange beforehand. Walking along the road for a stretch was a bit tough. On the upside, the surroundings of the hotel are very quiet. The room style is a bit old-fashioned but spacious. The evening onsen was great, I had it all to myself. Dinner was plentiful, but breakfast was just okay, though the dining environment was pleasant. The hotel service was decent, and the owner was quite understanding. However, the front desk staff wasn't very friendly; they wouldn't let us check in even ten minutes early. Eventually, the owner approved an early check-in. It's a nice touch that they offer a free shuttle service to the train station when you check out.
Totally recommend this hotel if you want to experience the Japanese culture. The 7 private onsen was amazing, I got to tired 5 out of the 7 would was great. The room was spacious and breakfast was fresh with traditional Japanese cuisine mixed with a bit Westernized. It is a 2 minute walk from the station with a Lawson and family Mart nearby. A 5 minute walk to the nearest shopping mall or a little over 10 minutes to another shopping mall. Lost of food options to choose from nearby.
My stay at Grand Mercure Beppu Bay Resort & Spa was truly wonderful. The rooms were spacious, clean, and beautifully designed, offering stunning views of Beppu Bay. The staff were warm, welcoming, and always ready to assist, making the experience feel personal and relaxing. The hot springs and spa facilities were exceptional, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. The breakfast buffet offered a great variety of local and international dishes, all fresh and delicious. Overall, it’s an excellent resort for both leisure and comfort — I would definitely stay here again!
The hotel is located halfway up the mountain, so it's more convenient if you're driving. We booked breakfast and dinner, and the food was absolutely amazing; you definitely have to try it if you stay here. My favorite part was the private hot spring in the room. I'd come back again if I get the chance.
The environment is absolutely stunning, and the service is incredibly professional! Both the breakfast and dinner buffets were delicious! Our room even had a hot spring bath ♨️ and an amazing sea view!
**Cleanliness:** Super clean!
**Facilities:** They have both a washing machine and a dryer, which is really convenient and well-equipped.
The room and the Onsen were EXACTLY like those in the listing and were absolutely stunning! The breakfast was delicious and the range more than adequate. The location is good if you drive but is about 1km walk to Beppu Tower and a bit more from the night street. But I’d happily trade that for the spacious room and the wonderful sea and sunrise view.
The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from the bus stop or JR station. The owner was very friendly and provided guidance on how to use each onsen. Any questions were welcome. There were two other Japanese families staying that day, making us three groups. We all took turns enjoying the onsen, eliminating the need for competition and allowing for leisurely enjoyment. The water was very hot, and there were two large onsen rooms with ample space. Dinner was delicious, with the A5 Wagyu beef grilled in the grill. The mushroom dishes were surprisingly tasty. You don't get such a rich texture in Hong Kong; they're usually dry after grilling, but the mushrooms here were very juicy and springy. Beer and soda are available for a fee, and the prices are reasonable. The room is a two-story stand-alone building with a living room on the lower level and a tatami room on the upper level. There are two toilets, and the space is clean and spacious. Yukata, bath towels, and disposable towels are provided. It's very complete. The owner has a beautiful variety of flowers and plants, so please enjoy them. I highly recommend staying here. It's a great value.
Super satisfied! Full of memories!
The reception staff are very friendly, courteous and take good care of the children 👍🏻 They also respond to requests quickly and efficiently!
Our room is a two-story independent house. It is very spacious, clean and comfortable, and fully equipped. It has a private hot spring and a high degree of privacy. It is very convenient to soak in the hot spring with the children. Dinner and breakfast are provided, and the food quality is very good~ Very attentive!
Highly recommended!

Great
GGuest UserThe location is remote and the transportation is inconvenient. I called the hotel but they didn't answer the phone, so I had to take a taxi. There are not many taxis in Yufuin... It's about 160 yuan...
It's like a small house in the countryside, more suitable for older people to drive by themselves. The surrounding area is very desolate and not recommended for children.
There are about 7-8 households in the whole yard, with a total of 4 private baths, which need to be used with a sign. The outdoor pool is also outdoors, and it's very windy and cold in winter...
Dinner is OK...
GGuest UserI stayed in this beautiful place with my mom. The house is spotless clean, room is spacious and beds are so comfy. Enjoy the view and feel relax with private indoor onsen (also outdoor onsen). The owners are kind and friendly. Breakfast is simple but delicious. Overall i love this place. Perfect for people who wants to relax in quite vibes.
The location is a bit far from the major tourist spots but not too far from the station. But it might not be suitable with the elder people because it takes around 10 mins walk to the house and also rooms are on the 2nd floor.
FFion201The hotel is located halfway up the mountain, so it's more convenient if you're driving. GGuest UserThe room was spacious and came with a private onsen. Perched halfway up the mountain, the views were beautiful. If you don't have a car, you can book the shuttle, but be aware that the pick-up times are infrequent. The staff were friendly. Dinner was just okay, but since it was inconvenient to go back to the city, we ended up eating almost all our meals there as part of a half-board package.
KKarinackkThe first time I came to Fukuoka, Japan, with my boyfriend, I started looking at Yufuin’s hot spring hotels three months ago. I want to find a hotel with good value for money, a private bath, and room and board.
However, I found this hotel, which met my requirements, and it was very convenient to walk to the street to buy food. There is also a convenience store Lawson nearby, just a few minutes away! Very good in every way! The private spa is great, and my boyfriend also likes this one! The owner also provides frozen sake in the refrigerator. It’s also great to drink sake while soaking in the hot springs or watching TV after drinking it❣️
Dinner was Wagyu sukiyaki shabu-shabu, with mushrooms, vegetables, and meat. The portions were large, and it was delicious! The owner only receives 4 pairs of guests every day, and the other guests traveling with him that day are all Koreans🤭The breakfast on the second day is a table of small Japanese breakfasts, which are also very exquisite. The taste is not very outstanding but it is still very Japanese. The flavor is pretty good too.
The only downside is that there are a lot of mosquitoes in the open-air private bath. I have to go back indoors after bathing quickly. I am more mosquito-provoked and I was bitten several times. I also found an insect at night, but fortunately the shop owner put out pesticides, and my boyfriend killed it with pesticides. It is always a suburb, and there are more small insects, but overall I am very satisfied with it and will recommend it to everyone! 👍🏻👍🏻Because the food is delicious, the location is convenient, the private bath is private, and the price-performance ratio is high!
MM23338****Checking into this hotel was a bit of a hassle, but the overall experience was excellent. The hotel's sea view and room design were beautiful. I took many photos there. Due to my personal health condition, I had a full-body allergic reaction after soaking in the hotel's hot spring for half an hour. I contacted the front desk in the middle of the night, but they didn't have any allergy medication. The only downside was that there were no shops or pharmacies nearby, so I walked four kilometers round trip in the middle of the night to buy some. To express their apology, the hotel extended my check-out time by three hours. Overall, the hotel service, facilities, and scenery were all excellent. I hope to have the opportunity to vacation there again in the future.
