This is also a Mitsui Garden Hotel, but unlike the typical 'Japanese' style I usually associate with them, it's much more modern. The public areas are excellent, and the steam room and sauna are definite highlights! They also maintain that modern aesthetic. All the showers are stand-up. The decor and material quality in the rooms and on the guest floors are a bit subpar and overly simplistic. Because the 'base color' is so dark, it tends to show dust bunnies more easily (not necessarily dirty, but it doesn't look good) 😂. The bed, however, is comfortable, and the curtains are great at blocking out light (though it's a shame the windows don't open, I just wanted some fresh air). The TV is high-definition, but its use is limited if you're out all day. The hotel is conveniently located near a bus stop, making it easy to get to attractions like Kiyomizu-dera and Eikan-do. It's actually not far from Shijo and Kyoto Station; on a nice day, you could easily walk, but if it's cold, judge your own stamina. The Gojo subway station entrance, right outside, isn't very friendly for those with large luggage as there's no elevator. Overall, the hotel service deserves a thumbs-up. The front desk staff, both male and female, speak good English and are very friendly and proactive in offering assistance. I noticed a larger number of Western guests during my stay. Just a heads-up: room trash is only collected every two days.

Excellent place to stay. Free public bath spa in the hotel. Plus: PJs and extra toiletries like makeup remover, cotton pads provided. Lunch: Good lunch buffet with homemade tofu. Value for money. Laundry: Coin machine at 400 yen a cycle. Good value. Venue: Walking distance to huge local supermarket, pharmacy and a nearby neighbourhood mall, BIV. Near the world heritage Nijio Castle. Bus stop just outside. Feels safe in coming back late as the hotel is just next to the main road.

The location is convenient, with tram and bus stops not far away. Both the room's bed and the bathroom are quite spacious and comfortable. There isn't a lot of space to open luggage, but a 20-inch suitcase fits fine. Breakfast was decent, though it lacked fruit and made-to-order noodles, but the price for breakfast was reasonable.

The hotel is conveniently located right by Kyoto Station, very close by, with two convenience stores downstairs. Transportation is a breeze. The front desk service was excellent; both luggage storage and check-in went smoothly. Some front desk staff can speak Chinese. The room size is decent. My 28-inch suitcase, when fully opened in the entrance hallway, left no room to walk. However, the room facilities are complete and comfortable. The hotel has a public bath (onsen). You can wear/bring the yukata and towels provided in your room and go there in your room slippers. The onsen is divided into male and female baths. At the entrance, there are vending machines and manga available for reading. There's a designated area to take off your shoes, with shoe lockers and combination lock shoe lockers, along with instructions on how to use them. The male bath has one large hot pool, one small cold pool, and another small pool. There's a wall with washbasins and a dry sauna room. The hot pool's water temperature was fine, and the water was clean as it's a circulating pool. The overall hotel style is simple, with a reasonable layout and complete facilities. Self check-in/check-out, vending machines, self-service washing machines, and self-service ice makers are all available.

The kids absolutely loved it! You have to store your shoes upon check-in, which adds a nice touch of ritual. The hot springs♨️ were better than expected; even though it was crowded, there was a great variety of pools, about 5-6, including some semi-outdoor ones. The onsen experience was truly delightful. The ice pops and ramen were an added bonus – it was quite funny seeing everyone line up for the ramen. It's right next to Kyoto subway station, so it's a great option for your arrival or final days. You can also walk to Higashi Hongan-ji and Sanjusangen-do from here.

The service was incredibly attentive, and the hotel boasted a beautiful, authentic Japanese design. The room size was perfect, offering excellent value for money. Although the hotel had a Japanese onsen, my trip was a bit rushed, so I didn't get a chance to experience it. I would definitely choose this hotel again on my next visit to Kyoto.

The room wasn't very big, and it definitely wasn't the 32.4 square meters I booked. When I talked to the front desk, they just said it was the largest room they had. With a double bed and a sofa bed, there was very little floor space left. I contacted Trip.com customer service, but the hotel still insisted it was 32.4 square meters. There was nothing more I could do, as I had several meetings there for a few days, so I just made do. The hotel environment itself is quite nice, with a Wabi-sabi aesthetic, and the surrounding streets are very quiet. Not too far away, there's a bustling commercial street, making it a peaceful spot amidst the lively area. The restaurant has a beautiful ambiance. Many thanks to Trip.com customer service for their active help in trying to resolve the issue.

We like the quiet streets along the hotel. The free shuttle service to Kyoto station was convenient but taking the train wasn’t difficult too. We could walk all the way from Gion to the hotel about 20 min walk. Have many nice restaurants around the area. Will definitely stay here again. Love their matcha gaufrette and coffee.

A very satisfactory choice. Travel with parents and stayed four nights and royal park. Located near to subway kalasuma station, a good choice to explore Kyoto. Room is spacious compared to most of hotels in Kyoto, also is clean and quiet. Impressed by the breakfast where you can choose set menu between Japanese and American styles. Delicate dishes. It has a lounge where you can enjoy afternoon teas and happy hour. The public bath is a must go-to place after a long way during the day.

The hotel is conveniently located between Gojo and Shijo subway stations, slightly closer to Gojo. However, these two stations are quite close anyway, so walking to either is perfectly acceptable. A taxi to Kyoto Station costs around 2000 JPY. The hotel itself is clean and tidy, and the front desk staff speak fluent English, making communication a breeze. Both check-in and check-out were very efficient. The comfortable twin room features a wet and dry separation in the bathroom, which makes toiletries more convenient and reduces disturbance. The soundproofing of the windows is excellent; you can barely hear any outside noise, though an occasional siren is unavoidable. The room was cleaned daily, and amenities were well-stocked. The only slight letdown was the breakfast; while the quality was good, it was exactly the same for four consecutive days. More variety would have been a definite improvement.

AAhmet ZekiDear Sir/Madam, I recently had the opportunity to stay at your hotel, and I would like to share my experience with you. First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude for the exceptional design and comfort your property offers. Kengo Kuma’s architectural brilliance, with its use of natural wood, thoughtful lighting, and integration of art pieces, creates a stunning and serene atmosphere. Additionally, the comfort of the rooms, the quality of the materials, the size of the beds, and the premium linens were truly impressive. In terms of design and comfort, your hotel sets a remarkable standard. However, I did encounter several service-related issues that I believe could be addressed to enhance the overall guest experience. I would like to share these points in the hope that they are helpful for future improvements: 1. Breakfast Lounge and Sushi Area: The proximity of these two areas creates a strong odor upon entering, which can be unpleasant. Improved ventilation could easily mitigate this issue. 2. Food and Beverage Service After Breakfast: The lack of food and beverage service after breakfast hours was inconvenient. At the very least, providing a space for guests to enjoy tea or coffee would be a welcome addition. 3. Room Service Availability: After a long journey, I was surprised to learn that room service was unavailable and that only rice balls could be provided. Expanding room service options would greatly improve the guest experience. 4. Flexibility with Breakfast Hours: Due to the time difference, I arrived slightly late for breakfast at 10:10 AM and was informed that nothing could be served. Even my request for tea did not receive a clear response. Greater flexibility in accommodating guests dealing with jet lag would be highly appreciated. 5. Lobby Services: The inability to offer anything to drink or even host a guest in the lobby felt restrictive. This could be improved to make the lobby a more welcoming space. 6. Spa Experience: I was unable to experience the renowned Banyan Tree spa as it was fully booked. Expanding spa reservation availability would help meet guest expectations for this signature offering. In summary, while the hotel excels in design and comfort, the service offerings seem to be constrained by rigid rules and limited hours, which can detract from the overall guest experience. I strongly believe that adopting a more flexible, guest-centered approach would significantly enhance satisfaction. If the above issues were addressed, I would certainly consider staying at your hotel again during my next visit to Kyoto. Once again, I want to thank you for the exceptional design and comfort provided during my stay and hope that these suggestions contribute to further elevating your standards. Best regards, next visit to Kyoto. 11350183****The hotel is incredibly close to Kyoto Station, with Exit 5 offering the most convenient access. The room was very quiet and cleaned daily. While disposable toiletries are not provided, there are plenty of USB charging ports. It's also very near Isetan and Yodobashi Camera. Getting to the airport, though it involves passing through Kyoto Station, is also very convenient.

GGuest UserOnline hotel bookings can often feel like a blind box draw, but Dusit Thani was definitely the right pick. Every staff member I encountered had an excellent attitude, the room was spotless, and even though the turndown service only provided a bottle of water, it was a pleasant and thoughtful touch. Thai brands truly excel in their service consciousness and aesthetic sense. The room itself was incredibly comfortable, and with no other guests in the public lobby areas, I thoroughly enjoyed the bliss of reading a book alone.

Gglow28Extremely convenient location. Hotel 3F connected to the department store. Department store lift to B1 connected to Hankyu railway to Osaka. Easy to find taxi outside of the hotel. Many restaurants around the area. The room is big in Japan standard. Our room has a cozy sofa corner. The shower and deep bathtub is great for relaxation. The hotel breakfast is also nice and offer a great selection of food. Extended check out time cost 2000yen per hr. It allows flexibility.

GGuest UserThe price doubles and goes up. I have stayed in this hotel many times. It always feels good. I came here again after many years and felt that the overall service and the quality of the food in the hotel were much worse. In particular, the service may be understaffed during the peak season, but it is indeed a very good hotel. Be sure not to make any mistakes when booking a hotel, otherwise he will be unkind and only care about money!

QQiangqiangmiaoGiven its non-cancellable policy, I hesitated for a long time when planning my trip, but ultimately decided to spend our last two nights here. We loved our stay so much, we didn't want to leave – I really should have booked it for our entire stay from the beginning! Despite the lack of an onsen (hot spring), the bedding was incredibly comfortable. After a tiring day of sightseeing, sleeping felt like floating on clouds, which was pure bliss. The photos really don't capture all the details. The bathroom was quite spacious, and all facilities were impeccably maintained. I didn't have high expectations for breakfast, which included options like stir-fried fresh mushrooms, Japanese chazuke, and Western-style dishes. However, the quality and flavor were undeniably excellent! They offered salmon sashimi, various other fish, bacon, ham, stir-fried mushrooms, and stir-fried chicken. For drinks, there was a good selection of fruit juices, and the fruits included grapefruit, grapes, bananas, and pineapples. The location is incredibly convenient. Keihan Sanjo Station and a bus stop are merely 80 meters away. We were able to walk to various attractions like museums, Ninen-zaka, Sannen-zaka, and Takashimaya. Getting to areas like Arashiyama by subway was also very quick. It was surprisingly quiet during the day. At night, just across the road, the bars along the Kamo River were bustling with activity. Yet, we experienced absolutely no noise in our room at night. The staff were exceptionally warm and friendly. When we first arrived, we struggled to find the entrance and ended up at the back door. By chance, we encountered a staff member just starting their shift, who personally escorted us to the front desk. Later, the front desk staff also personally guided us to the mother-and-baby room on the basement floor. These small details truly demonstrated the high quality of their service.

GGuest UserThis luxury boutique hotel exceeded our expectations. The attention to detail is impressive. Every aspect of the guest experience has been thought through. From check-in to check-out, we felt like VIPs. The room was as beautiful as it was comfortable. Food at the Geand Café was spectacular. Perfect location, with several several buses stopping right in front of the hotel, making exploring Kyoto very convenient. Short walk to Gion and other interesting areas. The only area for inprovement would be offering a wider selection for breakfast. It was excellent, but we wished there were additional options. Will return next time I’m in Kyoto!
