Hotels With Bars in Crete, Greece

The spa - hamam, sauna and indoor pool (1m deep though?!) is the hotel’s best feature. There is no beach access though, so I went to Nea Hora and Golden beach. Rooms - too small, lack of storage space, complex buttons and unnecessarily complicated console. It was quiet even though I was given a 2nd floor room. The overall signage in the hotel is confusing too. Beds and pillows - huge and comfy. Food - excellent. Massage decent. Toiletries good. Only frontal views are of the sea, but cost 10x more! Otherwise - trash can views!😤 A la carte breakfast - too slow, you eat less, always a misunderstanding… and after you order they take away the menu… Rooftop pool - a scam! Sunbeds always occcupied and need to be booked to see the sunset 🙄 there is another rooftop on 7th floor but after 10min you want to leave, because there are no showers, a pool, toilet or a bar… Staff is young, fakely polite, too slow and not very responsive - obviously trained for certain types of guests (culturally unexperienced). So even to get a locker in the spa you had to wait to be explained how to unlock it (and pass a test?!), even though there are two people at the reception desk. My coffee capsules, sweetener, and teas were not replaced the following morning during the housekeeping visit and a used glass was not washed. The balcony pool is tiny and got a lot of fluff from the street, plus I didn’t feel comfortable using it with it being visible from the street and building right across the street. I was also called at 21:30 (I was asleep?!) to check whether I was satisfied with a complimentary 30min massage (due to the poor room view)… 🤷🏼♀️ I understand that it is a new hotel and they are trying their best but I also paid 800+€ for two nights and was frustrated during 50% of my stay… 😒 I attended a high school for tourism and hospitality, worked as a masseuse, also and worked in 5-* hotels Chania 30 years ago, but stayed in a multitude of 4-5 star hotels worldwide since. Especially in Asia where the service is top notch. Therefore, all of this is not acceptable for such a high price. Yes, the welcome drink is nice, and so is the complimentary massage, but you should do better, Hilton!

Whether you’re looking for a relaxing retreat or a base to explore Crete, The Royal Senses delivers on every front. The hotel’s location is ideal for exploring the island, with easy access to nearby beaches, charming villages, and historical sites. The staff also went above and beyond to offer recommendations and assist with arranging excursions. The hotel is pretty clean and modern. We found the beds to be very comfy and the hotel's location was pretty convenient near the old town and port areas. The rooms are well appointed with a couple of chairs, a work area, a coffee/tea station, big TV and a large bathroom. There were enough plugs around the room and many switches with light settings to get it just right. We appreciated the balcony and the view outside but there were some cars that drove by with very loud music each night. The only significant complaint we had was that the bathroom shower leaked very easily in our rooms and got the floor wet near the toilet. The breakfast at the hotel was pretty good with a variety of Crete foods like cheese and pastries. There was fresh scrambled eggs and a very good sausage available as well. The breakfast also had a large variety of preserved fruits that paired well with the Greek yoghurt and included oranges, cherries, grapes and figs. We appreciated that the hotel had inexpensive parking nearby at Central Parking which was 7 Euros per day with unlimited in/out privileges as long as we got a stamp when we got in. The hotel also had a restaurant that offered room service and there was a popular cafe just across the street. This hotel was a good base for exploring Crete with a convenient location near the airport and the price was very fair for us.

Nice location and clean

Today, I have landed back home after spending amazing week at this family-run hotel. I can definitely tell you that it was one of the best holidays I have ever had, filled with nice people and great Greek weather. The hotel is located very conveniently, you have a lot of shops and restaurants nearby. Lidl is just 5-7 min walk. Next to the hotel there was a great coffee shop- Move on. Next to the hotel there is a bus stop which will take you to Chania city centre for a nice promenade and a delicious dinner. Hotel itself is of an apartment style with amazing pool which was always well-maintained and clean. Every day the girls made sure that our room is clean and we have new towels, and they were making quite impressive compositions from flowers and towels😁 The manager of the hotel was extremely friendly and always dealt efficiently with any requests we had. Breakfast was delicious and overall our stay was extremely enjoyable. Definitely visit this hotel to feel the amazing Greek hospitality.

All of the staff were amazing. Super friendly and helpful. They took care of us like family. Especially the beach bar staff were #1. We were with a large group of friends and they were so attentive and added a lot of laughter and fun to our experience. I would highly recommend this hotel.

This is actually a very nicely located hotel in the city center. Bus stop, kiosks, bars, and restaurants are right outside the door. The pedestrian zone also starts here. The harbor is also within walking distance. The lobby is very appealing, and while the rooms are small, they have everything you need for a short trip. The pool and its bar on the hotel rooftop are absolutely fantastic. We arrived at the hotel at 10:30 AM, even though check-in was advertised for 3 PM. Of course, we would have liked to check into our room by 1 PM or 2 PM. Despite asking multiple times, we were continuously put off, and it really did end up being 3 PM... This is a high-level complaint, but it's also the only drawback. We would definitely book again on our next trip to Heraklion.

The location of the hotel is definitely very good and a plus point. We were greeted in a friendly manner and the lady at the bar gave us a welcome drink. The hotel looks quite high-quality at the entrance and you feel like you're in good hands. I would say it's not 5-star level, but around 3.5-4 absolutely. The room we were given unfortunately had no windows (the description said there was one). No problem for us. Our biggest criticism is that there was no door in the shower because it had been removed. So you couldn't shower properly without water spraying outside. When we told reception, they just said ”we didn't know” and preferred to answer the ringing phone and leave the guest standing there. Who would know if not the hotel, so unfortunately it's far from 5-star service. We expected a small apology and that the problem would be taken care of. I think it's a real shame that you pay so much money and then get a room that doesn't meet the standard and isn't really at the level you want it to be given to guests. Luckily we only spent one day here and had previously spent the week in a real 5-star hotel. I can really only give this hotel 3/5 stars overall.

This was a great place. Obviously you need a car to reach, but then most places on the island outside the city do. Plenty of parking on site. Family run. Super nice and friendly. Sitting on a hilltop with gorgeous views of sea. Our room wasn't too big, but that wasn't an issue for us, since we're out most of the time. The pool was cute. We went early in morning and evening and didn't find it busy. Breakfast buffet was small but again, nothing really to complain about. We ate the food and were satisfied. It can be a bit tricky initially to navigate and find your way to the hotel from the main road. There are several routes. Just drive slow and you'll be fine. Overall, we had a nice holiday and if we're coming back to the same area we would probably choose to stay here again.

Mirabello Hotel is in a great location, within walking distance to the beach and major attractions. The hotel has a beautiful environment and is fully equipped with TV, hairdryer and shampoo. The service is professional and the staff is warm and thoughtful. They recommended us a cafe with a great view by the sea and invited us to taste local Easter snacks. They are committed to providing high-quality Cretan hospitality. Overall, it was a satisfactory stay and is worth recommending.
