The hotel's location is super convenient for getting around, really close to the beach, and surrounded by tons of great restaurants and a huge supermarket. The price is reasonable too, and it's only about a 30-minute taxi ride from the airport. Plus, there's an infinity pool!
Very close to the main street, just a few minutes walk, very convenient. There is a waiter who speaks some Chinese, very nice! The sea view is not wide enough, the facilities are relatively old, the food is not delicious, maybe it's because of different tastes. The bed smelled at night, fortunately we only booked one night and went to another hotel the next day.
Perfect location.
The hotel staff is very friendly & helpful.
Love the beautiful view of the garden, and kangaroos everywhere. They are so cute.
Pls enjoy the restaurant & coffee around the hotel, good food & drink.
We will come back next time on Summer time, and enjoy the outdoors swimming pool facilities.
Having previously stayed at the Airline Beach Hotel, this time, with school holidays driving prices through the roof, I decided to give this place a try.
First, the positives: While not directly on the main street, there's a bus stop right outside, and a Coles supermarket and a few restaurants are just a few hundred meters' walk away, which makes up for not being in the livelier main area. The staff were also very welcoming. The pool area is beautiful, and on sunny days, the water color is simply delightful.
A few things to note: The rooms aren't large, so if room size is a major concern, keep that in mind. They have a rustic, holiday cottage style. One side of the room features a large glass panel, so those who value privacy will need to remember to draw the curtains. For environmental reasons, daily housekeeping isn't typically provided during your stay. If you need fresh towels or anything similar, you can just ask at the front desk.

Lovely hotel located at the other end of the Esplanade. The broad walk at the back of the hotel was nice to stroll along and an easy way to get to the city center. Kudos to the reception staff, Riccardo for leaving a really good first impression when I first arrived. He was so clear in explaining everything I needed to know before I checked in, and subsequent days when I saw him he was also really helpful with whatever requests I had. The room was big and spacious, very comfy beds!! The housekeeping staff were also friendly whenever I saw them as I head out for the day. Food from the room service was tasty. However, the breakfast buffet options were almost the same everyday though, wish there could have been more variety. But overall, I still had a rather pleasant stay here(:
I was mostly happy with the resort. There were some things missing like more food options (only two restaurants) and small luxuries like a sauna for example. It’s also hard to rate the staff as you had some incredibly helpful staff and then some real depressing ones that were just rude. The only other thing that was a bit of a shock was that the beaches were just full of dead coral and no sand. I hadn’t been to one of the islands in the Whitsundays so I was surprised to see that. The photos of the resort did not show this so it would have been nice to know so it didn’t lead to disappointment. Some positives though is that the resort was beautifully designed and they offered a lot of free water activities like kayaking for example. The buffet breakfast was also really nice.
The hotel is incredibly conveniently located right by the Florida Gardens light rail station. You just step off the tram, cross the road, and you're in the lobby – it couldn't be easier! Our room's balcony offered beautiful views of the Gold Coast ocean, and the beach was only about a 5-minute walk away. If you're not in the mood for a stroll, you can hop on the light rail to Surfers Paradise for a mere 50 cents to explore the shops and grab a bite to eat, and then head back to the beach to soak up the sun.
Great location, very convenient. It's only a ten-minute walk to Surfers Paradise, and there are plenty of restaurants around, including a 7-Eleven and McDonald's. My roommates were okay; one snored, but that's just luck of the draw, I guess.
Super cute little house; we felt like we were in the jungle among so many plants. We had a cabin at the end, near the exit to the parking lot, so it was actually quite quiet. There's a free parking lot, with room for all types of cars. The location is perfect, right in the middle of everything.
The room was very clean and the service was very good. It was easy to check in. It was about half an hour's drive from the Tully River rafting. Mission Beach was just beside it and not far away.

GGuest UserFirstly, the room was excellent, ultra clean with bath and shower. The sheets were exemplary, bed very comfortable as were the pillows.
Bar fridge and microwave, toiletries in the bathroom.
Towels excellent.
Airconditioning excellent.
I was excited to see a very large, modern wide screen TV with onboard Android system.
Disappointed that no internet connection (so I could have used my own passwords for my streaming services.
Even more disappointed that there was no aerial connected, but I had brought my own tech and internet. I just switched off the TV.
Imagine my extreme displeasure to board the 3rd floor lift at 05:00 to have the doors closed - but no button worked!
I WAS TRAPPED IN THE LIFT!!!
I pressed the yellow emergency button for 5 seconds - no answer - pressed multiple times.
I phoned the hotel main number, so they could press the lift call button - no answer.
I phoned the 24/7 emergency 1300 number. The operator said she would send someone out - who would phone me with an ETA.
Getting anxious, being 60 years old with a heart condition, I dialled 000 to call the POLICE!
The dispatcher commended me on remaining so calm.
I assured her, being very hot in cramped spaces with very little air was definitely not conducive to my remaining calm.
They said to call 000 back if I got out before the fire brigade arrived.
Five minutes later I heard voices outside. Someone heard my banging on the lift doors and cries for help.
I GOT OUT
That night the guy on reception said sorry.
I explained that, although the room was marvelous - and that I did eventually get out, a man of my age and I'll health could have died - why wasn't anyone on duty to answer the damn lift emergency phone?
He said he was sorry.
GGuest UserThe rooms are well-appointed. The hotel boasts stunning panoramic views, easily making it one of the best on the Gold Coast for scenery. With an on-site restaurant conveniently located downstairs and excellent transport links, guests can enjoy unobstructed ocean views directly from the property.
PPHILLIP JAMESThe Mantra Hotel has outstanding location. It is directly in front of the Woolworths supermarket - the best option in central Cairns. It's also virtually opposite (the esplanade side)the lagoon public beachfront swimming pool. Finally it's just a 5 minute walk from Cairns Cruise Terminal, with outstanding day trips to Green Island, Fitzroy Island and the Reef. I booked a sea view room. When you enter the room, you don't see the ocean, but a building across the road. However, the view from the balcony was amazing. The balcony overlooks the main features of lagoon on the sea front. During the day it is great view - the lagoon pools and sea in the background. At night you cannot see the sea (as to be expected) but you have the amazing lagoon lights, which makes it very desirable and even romantic. Our room was at the end of block, which overlooks a shopping mall (no car noise) - looking right from the balcony is the lagoon view and looking left is a mountain view. However, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm the sun comes directly into the balcony area, which means it unusable until sun sets. Of course if you don't mind baking in the sun on the balcony, this is not really a concern. The room itself is pretty basic. The mini fridge of OK and TV has domestic channels only - no cable TV for BBC/CNN. The bathroom is of a good size. There is combined shower & bath. However, when using the shower, it can slightly flood this bathroom. A shower curtain may be desirable because the glass panel is not sufficient enough. At $225 per night this hotel was not cheap and you can better deals by coming in the off-season OR going bit further down the esplanade, and choosing another hotel. The Mantra does have its own pool and it is wonderfully heated, with normal deck chairs you would expect at 4 star hotel. However, the pool gets very little natural sunlight, because it of its location between 2 buildings. Overall, the hotel has amazing location, and it is still recommended, despite the shortcomings mentioned. My final note: When we checked in, I was impressed with the level of service provided by the receptionist. She had a very welcome attitude and a wonderful personality.
NNickVery comfortable night sleep, room was clean staff were helpful.
Please note the lift is currently under construction so you may need to use the stairs, the stairs are not suitable for children as they have horizontal rails with large gaps. The restraunts buffet looked like it had a decent selection but we did not have it as it was $16each our two and three year olds.

GGuest UserThe hotel is pretty mediocre; both the cleanliness and facilities are quite old and worn. The location is good, but be aware that you have to pay a separate 200 AUD deposit, which is credit card only – no cash accepted. What's more, they take an excessively long time to process the refund after you check out. We stayed on August 8th and 9th, and it's already the 15th, but we still haven't received our deposit refund! This is absolutely unacceptable and incredibly frustrating. Why do they charge such a substantial deposit and then take so long to return it?
TTheobaldThis is a fabulous place to stay. We chose a studio room, with ocean view, and it was really worth it. Although we arrived late, we contacted call staff at the door and they talked us through the check in process. Service was kind and responsive throughout. The only small downside was that the rooms are only serviced once each 8 days. However, when we requested fresh towels they were happy to provide them. The pool complex is lovely - the pool is a little cold for winter, but the spa was comfortable and we really enjoyed the sauna. Breakfast was included, and we had the choice of three cafes in the complex, with delicious food at all three.
We can't wait to return!
GGuest UserA totally perfect stay, from the moment of checking in to the day of returning home. Nice room, nice people, nice restaurants… just everything so great!!
LlihuarThe service doesn't live up to 4-star standards, mainly for two reasons.
First, upon check-in, the front desk informed me that a 200 RMB deposit was required, payable only by credit card. They said it would be refunded after checkout once the room was inspected for damage, but they couldn't tell me when the refund would actually clear, advising me to contact my bank directly. It felt like they didn't care about the inconvenience caused to guests, only about mitigating their own risks. The front desk staff just rattled off the information as a matter of routine.
Second, at 1 AM, the fire alarm blared, and the broadcast system announced an evacuation. The elevators were also shut down. After taking the emergency stairs down to the street, we were then informed the fire alarm was a false alarm and we could return to our rooms. I understand this is the standard procedure for hotels in an emergency. However, being put through such a commotion in the middle of the night severely disrupted guests' rest. The front desk simply stated that everything followed normal procedures and offered no compensation.
So, from the hotel's perspective, it was just another day of providing 'normal service.' For me, however, it was a night of utter disruption. But the hotel didn't seem to care.
