Beach Hotels in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan

This hotel offers incredible value for money, and I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time I visit Shimoda! The room was clean and tidy, with unbeatable sea views, and the size is quite spacious for Japan. The bathroom was also relatively large and bright. Breakfast was also great value, with a decent variety and local specialties. The hot springs have both indoor and outdoor pools; for a non-specialized onsen hotel, the environment was fantastic. I imagine the outdoor onsen offers sea views during the day. But the most remarkable aspect was the hotel's service. They were patient and meticulous throughout. I had requested a high floor and not a corner room in advance, and the hotel accommodated both requests, leading to a room with an excellent view. One evening, I spontaneously decided to go out for dinner, only to find the nearest restaurant was a 1km walk uphill. The front desk helped me call a taxi and even reserved a table. The young man with glasses at the front desk patiently assisted with all the arrangements, for which I'm very grateful! Overall, the experience was fantastic, offering exceptional value, and I will certainly be back!

This hotel is super convenient, just a few minutes' walk from Ito Station, right by the sea. There's a road downstairs, so be aware that if your room faces the ocean, you might hear traffic noise at night, which could be an issue if you're a light sleeper. Ito feels like a charming small town; it's not too crowded, and exploring the local shops and streets was quite enjoyable. The room was quite spacious for Japan, though the facilities were a bit dated, everything was still very clean. We slept directly on the tatami mats and didn't use the TV or anything. Note that they have two buildings separated by the road in front of the reception. They also offer hot springs and private baths, but we didn't have time to try them. For service, two elderly gentlemen handled our check-in, and they spoke English.

It was the best place where my wife and I had ever rested. And the hotel and the whole city of Shimoda is a paradise. We liked absolutely everything. And the hotel employee - Kaori, is an exceptional nature person. She gives her work 200% and is the heart of this hotel. Thanks to her scrupulousness, sensitivity and care, there was a feeling that my mother was taking care of us in the hotel. We will definitely come back again! We advise everyone to visit this city and this beautiful hotel at least once. The hotel's location, one bed and two meals, cleanliness, and service are all very satisfactory. The only drawback may be the old facilities and hardware. I hope there will be an opportunity to upgrade the hardware in the future, such as worrying about the room, bathroom, and updating the bedding (I hope the mattress is softer and there are more choices of pillows). I will definitely come again.

The hotel is not far from the station, about 5 minutes walk down. The clerk can speak English and did not meet the Chinese clerk. The hotel is a traditional Japanese-style room, very clean and comfortable. There is a pick-up station service, because there is no large luggage, so I don't use ～ The hotel's hot spring water is nearly 100 degrees of source water, and the private soup in the room needs to be cooled to adjust the temperature. The public open-air private soup temperature is suitable, equipped with a steam room, so it is not used in the morning. Breakfast and dinner are very rich, upgraded dinner with beef barbecue, the dishes are delicious, really full! After watching the day in the morning, I went out to the hot springs and cooked the hot spring eggs to bring back to the hotel bibimbap. It was a very special experience. I recommend it to friends who want to come to Izu to play! !

Facilities: Basic toiletries are conveniently self-service and available by the elevator. Service: The front desk staff's English is good, and they patiently guide you through the check-in process. Environment: It's very close to the station, so all your usual food, drinks, and convenience stores are within 500m. The rooms are much larger compared to typical Tokyo accommodations. P.S. For my fellow Chinese compatriots who need hot water, remember to ask the front desk for a kettle, as it's not standard in the rooms. You can leave it in the room when you check out. Breakfast: Simple, just sandwiches and coffee or black tea. You'll definitely need to supplement it if you plan an active morning. If you want to pack it to go, you'll need to bring your own bag. The good thing is it starts early, from 7 AM.

Access: Getting to the hotel from Atami Station involves a lot of uphill climbs and stairs, which can be a bit inconvenient if you're traveling with luggage. Private Open-Air Bath: There's a fully private open-air bath available for 3,000 yen for 45 minutes. There are two types of rooms, and you can request a different one if you prefer. Since the rooms are side-by-side, the view is the same; only the shape of the bath differs.

The hotel is about 300 meters on foot from Imai-hama Kaigan Station, but it's not recommended for travelers with luggage as there's no elevator at this station. The hotel offers a shuttle bus to Kawazu Station, so be sure to check the schedule. I strongly advise against booking dinner with your stay, especially during the evening cherry blossom illumination. The hotel provides a shuttle service to Kawazu Station from 7 PM to 8:20 PM, which largely overlaps with dinner times.

We had an amazing 1 night stay at Shizentenyu... i'm still dreaming about the view from our room and the restaurant... amazing!!! We didn't realize that our room included a full 7-course set dinner menu, which was one of the highlights from our trip! The service was impecable, food delicious, and a huge thank-you to Alfie who guided us through our set menu in English. We would have been very confused without him. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, the Onsen lovely, we appreciated the lounge with free coffee, tea, beer, and popsicles. We also braved the steep walk down to the private beach and went for a refreshing swim! We wish we could have stayed longer!

Even though I didn't get to use the hot springs, the scenery here is absolutely breathtaking! The service was also excellent, and the breakfast was delicious. What really stands out is the location – you can see the ocean right from your balcony, and there's a pool too. It's incredibly good value for money! Plus, the room had no weird smells and was very comfortable. I'd definitely come back here if I get the chance.
