Guangzhou is not just the beating heart of commerce and one of China's main trade fair hubs. It is also a city that holds a rich heritage linked to traditional Cantonese medicine and relaxation. Those looking for a massage centre in Guangzhou will find a very diverse range of options, spanning from traditional treatments to large, 24-hour wellness complexes.

To help you compare the various options available, Trip.com has gathered essential information on the most popular treatments at massage centres in Guangzhou, along with price ranges, strategic neighbourhoods, and recommended spots.

💖 Best Massages in Guangzhou: Types & Treatments

The variety of treatments available in Guangzhou reflects a dual heritage: the tradition of Tui Na and the modern spas of international hotels. Finding the best massages in Guangzhou can make all the difference after a busy day, perhaps spent visiting the stands at the fair.

If convenience is your priority, massages in Guangzhou hotels offer high standards and greater privacy. For those who prefer a more local experience, cheap massages in Guangzhou are easily accessible in the more authentic districts.

Cantonese Tui Na: A holistic approach

Traditional Tui Na massage

A pillar of traditional Chinese medicine, Tui Na is one of the best massages in Guangzhou. It aims to restore energy balance through targeted manipulation and is among the most requested treatments. Compared to some schools in northern China, the Cantonese tradition favours more fluid, circular, and continuous movements. Some centres often integrate oils or aromatic herbs to "dispel body dampness". Focused on the back, neck, and joints, it promotes deep relaxation. Ideal for releasing muscle tension. Duration: 60-90 minutes.

Foot massage in Guangzhou: Zúliáo

Ideal for relieving feelings of fatigue, the foot massage is known in Chinese as Zúliáo (literally “foot therapy”). It is one of the most deeply rooted traditions in Cantonese culture. In some guidebooks, you may also find the term “Jiaomo”, although Zúliáo is the most common name. The session often begins with an herbal foot bath (ginger, mugwort, or chrysanthemum), followed by foot reflexology. In line with other types of massage in Guangzhou, it lasts about an hour.

Ziliao foot massage

Full body massage

Full body massage

For those seeking regeneration rather than a therapeutic approach, a full-body massage in Guangzhou is one of the most popular solutions. Unlike the vigorous Tui Na, it favours lighter, continuous strokes that involve the back, shoulders, neck, arms, and legs. In high-end centres, it is enriched with essential oils. It helps promote deep relaxation and aids recovery from jet lag. The average duration of a session varies between 60 and 90 minutes.

Spas and wellness journeys

International standards for saunas and massages in Guangzhou are typical of luxury establishments, which offer holistic wellness journeys and privacy. They combine aromatherapy, massages, facials, steam baths, body rituals, and relaxation areas. These are mainly available in Zhujiang New Town and Tianhe, where luxury hotels are located. Booking massages in Guangzhou hotels is one of the most convenient solutions for combining wellness and practicality, ensuring a premium experience with attention to every detail.

Thai massage in Guangzhou

Thai massage

The influence of nearby Southeast Asia has made Thai massage increasingly popular in Guangzhou. It is a dynamic, dry treatment that alternates rhythmic pressure with passive stretching. Similar to assisted stretching, it works on the entire muscular chain. Ideal for those seeking relaxation and greater joint mobility.

“All-in-one” wellness centres

One of the most characteristic experiences at massage centres in Guangzhou is that of the "all-in-one" centres, which are open 24 hours a day. By paying an average entry fee of around 600-800 CNY, you get access to thermal pools, massage centres, cinema rooms, sleeping pods, and buffets. Often, these spaces offer the best sauna and massage services in Guangzhou all under one roof, representing true institutions of Cantonese social life.

All-in-one wellness centre

💡 What to expect at a massage centre in Guangzhou: In many massage centres in Guangzhou, it is customary to remove your shoes at the entrance, wear the slippers provided by the establishment, and start your session with a hot tea or a foot bath. Privacy can vary: traditional centres often have shared areas, while hotel spas generally offer private cabins. Remember that massages are wellness treatments and do not replace medical care: if you have any specific health conditions, it is advisable to consult your doctor before booking.

💰 Guangzhou Massage Prices

The prices at Guangzhou massage centres can vary based on the treatment, duration, category and location of the establishment, services included, seasonality, or any ongoing promotions. Decided to take a spontaneous trip during the May Day holiday and looked into nearby resorts. Mulian Zhuang came highly recommended for its overall value for money, so we decided to give it a try. We arrived on the afternoon of the 30th, which helped us avoid the peak rush. From the parking attendant to the front desk staff and the shuttle bus driver, everyone was incredibly friendly and professional. The front desk kindly upgraded our room to one by the lake, which was incredibly comfortable and offered a more peaceful environment. The first day was a bit chilly, but lying on the balcony deckchair, listening to the birds and the sound of the water, was incredibly relaxing. It really helped us achieve our vacation goals, haha! The hotel itself is designed like a garden, with rooms scattered across the hillside, connected by small paths. This layout ensures minimal disturbance between guests. Taking a leisurely stroll around is lovely, and if you don't feel like walking, you can always 'call' for the park shuttle, which is very convenient. If you're looking for peace and quiet, soaking in the hot springs or swimming here are excellent choices. I was so engrossed in the scenery that I barely took any photos!

This is by far the most delightful and impressive resort hotel I've stayed at in the past two years! The room was clean, spacious, and the view was fantastic. Of course, there are always areas for improvement, but the service attitude here is absolutely incredible! So good, in fact, that I can overlook any minor imperfections. First, there's the complimentary butler service arranged before check-in. They sent details about the hotel, nearby transportation, and travel tips a day in advance, which was incredibly professional and thoughtful. The butler was also very responsive and answered all our questions promptly. A huge shoutout and ten likes to Luke for all his help over these two days! 👍🏻✖️10. The hotel restaurant staff were also very attentive and proactive. When they realized it was our birthday, they even asked if we wanted the band to sing 'Happy Birthday,' and a waiter came over to wish us a happy birthday personally – we really felt their sincerity. Second, the complimentary travel photography service included with the room rate was excellent. The photography studio is called 'Shiguang Travel Photography,' and the photographer was very cooperative, professional, and patiently guided us, offering valuable suggestions and emotional support. The photos turned out amazing with a high success rate! The makeup artist was also skilled and professional, providing excellent service. Five stars to them! Even though the tennis court is outsourced, the person in charge of the venue also provided exceptional service. So many pleasant surprises! This is the first time I've been this satisfied with a hotel, and I'll definitely be back. Thank you to everyone for their thoughtfulness! ❤️

This stay was absolutely perfect, I have to give it a five-star rating! The hotel's location is super convenient, making it easy to get around by taxi and explore nearby shopping areas. Check-in was very efficient, and the front desk staff were incredibly kind and attentive, responding to requests promptly. The room was clean and tidy, with soft and comfortable bedding. The soundproofing was excellent, so I slept peacefully all night. The bathroom facilities were complete, with plenty of hot water, and the toiletries were of good quality. The common areas were well-maintained and very clean. The overall environment was quiet and elegant, and the value for money was exceptional. I will definitely prioritize staying here again next time I'm in the area, and I highly recommend it to everyone!

My room was a luxurious suite with private bath tub (around hkd 3000 for two nights including breakfast). Hardware is definitely exceptional. However when it comes to service it is below standard: 1) front desk - service was poor without any greetings such as bell boy. Front desk officers were unhappy without any eye contact when they talk to you. No hospitality at all; 2) breakfast - the quality both food and service were not up to a 4 or 5 star service. Table was not clean, staffs were almost unfriendly, except one female manager and one staff, all staffs were rushing their task and unwelcoming. I believe the hotel management need to motivate their staff ,otherwise, people won’t come again. 3) Amnenties - room is a luxurious suite with private bath tub, massage chair, kitchen , dining table and queen bed. The tub was not very clean, with water splitting . Such a waste as their service was not meeting the standard of what it is expected to be a 5- star resort. (The environment, garden were nicely decorated indeed) The Hot Spring pool is well known but I have’s try so cannot comment. I won’t come to this resort again, if the service of the hotel haven’t improved. And I won’t recommend travelers with kids who is looking for a family friendly and good service resort. P.S.: Parking spaces were spacious and free

This time, I took a taxi from Guangzhou East, and the journey was about an hour. The last time I stayed at this hotel was in December 1995. I remember back then they advertised that even Premier Zhou Enlai had stayed here. This time, I was impressed by how much the hotel's scale has expanded. I checked in on the 25th to a double room with a private hot spring and garden view on the 5th floor in Cui Xi building. The room was great, with its own private pool. Additionally, there's a complimentary outdoor hot spring for guests to enjoy. The only minor drawback is that to reach the rooms on the 5th floor of Cui Xi building, you have to transfer elevators twice. My memory is still good, and I could remember the way, but I saw some elderly guests often getting lost, so it would be better if the signs were larger. Although the room has a private pool, it lacks a temperature display. It would be great if one could be added to prevent scalding. It was my friend's birthday on the day we checked in, and the front desk didn't notice immediately, which is a very basic oversight for hotel staff. We weren't asking for a cake or an upgrade, just a simple 'Happy Birthday.' Not noticing shows a lack of attention, and management should take note. Overall, the experience was excellent, and I hope it gets even better in the future.

The room was very spacious, and the terrace overlooked the infinity pool, directly facing the Liuxi River. There was even a small beach right across the river, and we were lucky enough to see someone setting off fireworks at night. The service was excellent. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of delicious options, which was fantastic! 👍🏻 It would be even better if the two 1.35m beds were replaced with 1.5m ones, as that would make the value for money even higher. Overall, I was very satisfied.

The hotel's overall environment is decent, and the staff's service attitude is very good. The follow-up specialist's service was also excellent [rose emoji]. The location is extremely convenient, with a shopping mall right across the street, making it easy to get around and shop. The hotel offers complimentary coffee, although the taste is a bit bland. The only minor drawback is that the room facilities are a bit old and the decor style feels dated, giving it an old-fashioned hotel vibe. It might be more suitable for older travelers. I hope the hotel can renovate and upgrade the room hardware in the future for an even better stay experience. The follow-up specialist's service was very good.

We booked this hotel specifically for the 40th-floor kids' club, but it turned out to be a bit of a letdown. We came to Guangzhou with our child, and after seeing many reviews praising the Westin's indoor kids' club on the 40th floor, we decided to stay here. Unfortunately, the kids' club was quite disappointing – there was a strong, pungent smell inside. I'm not sure if it's been recently renovated, but even as an adult, I felt a bit dizzy after a few minutes, let alone letting my child play in there. On top of that, it only opens at 12 PM daily, and there wasn't a single staff member in sight, which honestly made me a bit uneasy. However, putting the kids' club aside, the rest of the hotel was excellent. Our stay on the executive floor was very satisfying, with attentive service. The breakfast selection was rich and varied, with plenty of options for both adults and children. The location is also very convenient, close to shopping and dining. While the heated pool isn't huge, the water temperature was comfortable and perfectly adequate for children to splash around in. Overall, if you're booking this hotel solely for the kids' club, like we did, you might want to reconsider. I hope the hotel addresses the indoor air quality issue, as health and safety are paramount when traveling with children. However, if you're here for a business trip or prioritize the executive benefits, this hotel is definitely worth staying at.

1. On my first night, the fridge wasn't working, so I contacted the front desk. They immediately arranged a room change and even upgraded my room type, which made my trip to Guangzhou a fantastic experience. 2. The apartment's location directly opposite Taikoo Hui is incredibly convenient for getting anywhere. There are all sorts of great food options downstairs, so you don't even have to go far to eat well. 3. The breakfast provided is incredibly varied and of high quality, with plenty of choices! Plus, there's a massage chair, yoga room, swimming pool, and a sauna room, among other amenities. Overall, I'm a hundred percent satisfied!

The location is an absolute winner! The hotel has direct access to TeeMall, and it's within walking distance to Parc Central and Grandview Mall. The Sports West Road subway station is also very close, so you can shop and find food without enduring the elements – super convenient for getting around. Check-in was very efficient, and the front desk staff were pleasant and easy to communicate with. The room was spacious with large windows offering expansive views. The mattress was soft and comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a great night's rest after a day of exploring. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, the hot water was stable, and the cleaning was meticulous, leaving it spotless and odor-free. Amenities are comprehensive; the heated pool and gym were both fully operational. What's more, you can store your luggage for free after check-out, which is a thoughtful touch, allowing us to pick it up after we'd finished exploring the shopping districts. This established five-star hotel truly delivers on reliability. It's suitable for both business trips and leisure travel/food adventures. I'll definitely prioritize staying here again next time I'm in Tianhe, Guangzhou! Also, a big thank you to the staff for providing us with complimentary breakfast!

Booked an executive room, and it only came with two bottles of water. We drank one on the first day, and to my surprise, housekeeping didn't even replenish them the next day. Unbelievable. The coffee provided was instant Nescafé; they could at least offer drip bags, especially since the mini-fridge was completely empty. The mattress was really comfortable, and the buckwheat pillow suited me perfectly, though I had to wait over half an hour for it.

Facilities: Well-equipped, American-style decor, everything is online and timeless. Hygiene: Established cleanliness, but details like table corners could use more attention. Environment: You can shop, eat, drink, play, and visit a museum all within the hotel. Service: Everyone is on point, and the switchboard processes calls immediately. As the only national brand among China's three platinum five-star hotels, it boasts unique historical and cultural elements, and is a symbol of China's reform and opening-up. Its history and ethos are evident. My first impression during check-in was that everyone was very busy; while check-in was slow, the staff were very pleasant. As a Lingkehui Gold Card member, in addition to a room upgrade, I also received complimentary breakfast and executive lounge access. If room availability allows, late checkout until 2 PM is possible. The hotel has a very high occupancy rate, with many foreign guests and airline crew. There might be some communication gaps between departments like housekeeping and restaurants. This time, my Deluxe King room was upgraded to a Red Kapok King Suite. The room, being older, combined with ongoing government construction nearby, meant the soundproofing was a bit lacking. The extra bed was too soft and a bit uncomfortable, and some other hardware in the room was a bit dated, but it didn't detract too much from the stay. On the first floor, there's an outdoor back garden with a small waterfall, both popular photo spots. I saw many people taking pictures, it was lively. The ornamental fish in the pond were huge. On the 4th floor, there's a free, public Garden Hotel Museum (closed Mondays), which is well worth a visit, explaining the development history of various hotels and just how amazing Garden Hotel is. You really must spend some time exploring it. The gym (well-equipped) and outdoor swimming pool (not heated) are on the other side of the 4th floor, with two squash courts (reservation required). All hotel signage is in Chinese, English, and Japanese. There's currently construction outside the hotel (the typical 'dong dong dong' sound of Guangzhou)... You really should experience our Garden Hotel with its Lingnan characteristics.

The room was clean and the facilities were relatively new, with a nice view outside the window. Overall, it still had an old-money vibe, as the hotel's age is undeniable, and even renovations have their limitations. I particularly want to mention the faucet in the bathroom sink – it didn't have a filter, and the spout was quite high, so water splashed everywhere when turned on. The instant coffee in the room was terrible, though the coffee machine in the buffet restaurant was decent. For the buffet lunch, the desserts, ice cream, and fruit were good, but the main courses were mediocre. The sashimi always had a long line, and its presentation was a bit lacking. Regarding the ”Golden Ball Lychee Pastry”: it was advertised as one per day, but I didn't receive it on subsequent days of my stay.

Extremely satisfied with my stay! The front desk service was excellent, very polite and attentive, always willing to help with anything needed. The room was spacious, and the location was very convenient for transportation. I'll definitely come back again. Just wanted to add: the parking lot was huge and easy to park in.

Mr. Xie at the front desk was very patient and polite. There's a self-service laundry room and gym upstairs. The lobby is beautiful, and parking is free. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, really enjoyable, and the environment was great too.

This hotel truly embodies the meaning of ”home away from home.” From the moment I walked in, the warm smiles and greetings from the hospitality staff made me feel incredibly welcome. The comfortable sofa in the room was the perfect spot to relax, just like a cozy recliner. The hotel's laundry return service was a particularly pleasant surprise; my clothes were folded neatly – excellent attention to detail. The local specialty noodles I had for breakfast were a delicious way to start the day, putting a perfect end to my trip!

Before arriving, I had read many reviews online saying that the front desk always had long queues. And indeed, during my few days of stay, I did notice queues forming during morning and afternoon peak hours. However, when I checked in, it was fine; there was no queue. A tall gentleman warmly greeted us and arranged the room according to my request. The room was spacious and grand overall, and very well-maintained. Over the next few days, I enjoyed relaxing time at the executive lounge, where the food quality was also excellent. I'd like to thank Niki and the Russian girl with excellent Chinese for their service and help. The only issue I encountered was when I informed the front desk that I would be checking out at 2 PM the next day, but they somehow set my key card to expire that same afternoon, which resulted in me being locked out of my room and caused quite a bit of inconvenience.

Last August, I stayed at this hotel when I came to see my favorite singer's birthday celebration. I remember saying then that if I ever returned to Guangzhou, I would definitely book this hotel again. And here I am, back in July! The service is as attentive as ever; the front desk staff are incredibly friendly, and the room is spotless, cozy, and comfortable. The view from the window is fantastic. The hotel's washing machines and dryers are also very convenient to use. This time, I explored more of the dining options around the hotel. There's a dim sum restaurant called Luyun Tea House in Zhengjia Plaza right next to the hotel, and their dim sum is delicious. Plus, there's a convenience store downstairs, which is super handy for grabbing things. Getting to Canton Tower is a breeze – just two or three stops on Metro Line 3. It's also quick and easy to reach attractions like Yongqing Fang and Shamian Island, taking only a few tens of minutes. If I get the chance to visit Guangzhou again, I'll definitely be back! 🩷

The hotel is well-equipped with a pool, gym, and dining options. The service is excellent, and both the lobby and rooms have air conditioning that keeps them sufficiently cool. It's conveniently located near the Ouzhuang subway station (Lines 5 and 6) and Taojin station (Line 5), just a few minutes' walk away. Parking is also easy and quick.

I've stayed here many times, and I'm so happy they upgraded me to a one-bedroom suite again this time. It was a very comfortable stay, and they even provided welcome fruits. Both the room and the living room have floor-to-ceiling windows, offering a pretty good view. The location is also very central; you can walk to Zhengjia Plaza. This time I tried the breakfast; the restaurant is beautiful, but the food selection is a bit limited. I pretty much always stay here when I come to Guangzhou.

The W Hotel Guangzhou was an amazing experience! It's right in the heart of Zhujiang New Town, with a super trendy and avant-garde design that creates a fantastic atmosphere – perfect for photos. The room was spacious and clean, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offered stunning city night views. The staff were warm and attentive; Candy handled check-in efficiently, and April provided thoughtful and meticulous service. The high-altitude pool was a unique feature, and the facilities were comprehensive. It's conveniently located for travel and shopping, making it an excellent choice for a holiday visit to Guangzhou. I'll definitely be back!

The hotel's location is great, and the garden-style design is beautiful. The room we booked was very spacious, and we even got connecting rooms. Although the decor is a bit dated, you can tell it was once a very thoughtfully designed space. The room is airy with a long row of large windows and a big bathroom with a separate wet and dry area and a bathtub, but no smart toilet. The included breakfast buffet offered a good variety. Hope it gets even better in the future!
