Shenzhen Massage Guide: Types, Prices & Where to Go

When looking for massages in Shenzhen, it is easy to feel disoriented between traditional rituals and hyper-modern experiences. With over eighteen million inhabitants, this metropolis is not only the capital of Chinese innovation but also one of the main hubs for urban wellness. Choosing a massage centre in Shenzhen means treating yourself to a unique experience, ranging from ancient treatments to multimedia experiences in futuristic oases of relaxation. This Trip.com guide helps you compare prices and facilities to make an informed choice about the best massages in Shenzhen.

💖 Best Massages in Shenzhen: Types & Treatments

In Shenzhen, skyscrapers and futuristic spas coexist with traditional establishments and all-in-one wellness centres designed to rejuvenate body and mind. Identifying the ideal massage centre in Shenzhen depends mainly on your physical needs, the time you have available, and the level of service you desire.

Tui Na: the traditional Chinese massage

Among the most requested massages in Shenzhen is Tui Na, one of the oldest techniques in traditional Chinese medicine. It is ideal for those suffering from so-called "tech-neck", the neck and shoulder tension typical of those who spend many hours at a computer. In this case, therapists use deep acupressure and targeted manipulation along the energy meridians to unlock posture and relax contracted muscles.

Foot reflexology and foot massage

Trying a foot massage in Shenzhen means getting closer to one of the most deeply rooted practices in Chinese wellness culture. Foot reflexology, known as Zúliáo, is based on the stimulation of specific points on the foot which, according to traditional medicine, are connected to the body's various organs. Those who book a foot massage in Shenzhen can often also enjoy a “cinema-style” experience during the treatment, which means immersive entertainment with large reclining armchairs and private giant screens for watching films, TV series, or sporting events.

Full body massage

A full-body massage in Shenzhen is ideal for those landing after a long flight or who have accumulated fatigue between meetings and trade fairs. It generally lasts between 60 and 90 minutes and combines relaxing and decontracting techniques to release tension in the body. In a city that never sleeps, the full-body massage in Shenzhen has become an ally against jet lag and fatigue, improving circulation and rejuvenating the body.

Hot Stone massage

It combines therapeutic heat with mineral energy. It uses heated volcanic stones or, in higher-end spas, jade stones, a precious material rooted in Chinese tradition. The heat is released gradually onto the main muscle groups, promoting relaxation and easing deeper tension.

Couples' massage

An increasing number of spa and massage centres in Shenzhen offer double cabins dedicated to couples' treatments, with synchronised journeys, aromatherapy and personalised rituals. This option is highly sought after by both honeymooners and couples from Hong Kong who choose a massage centre in Shenzhen to spend a weekend dedicated to well-being.

Chair massage

An express massage, it lasts from 15 to 30 minutes and is performed on special ergonomic chairs. It is particularly suitable for quickly relieving tension in the neck, shoulders, and lower back. Those looking for a quick treatment in Shenzhen will find the "chair massage" very common in shopping centres, large wellness complexes, and the business areas of Nanshan, where professionals and office workers can enjoy a short, rejuvenating break without interrupting their working day too much.

Spas and wellness journeys in hotels

Those seeking absolute luxury can take refuge in the oases of five-star hotels. Choosing a massage spa in Shenzhen within these establishments means indulging in personalised rituals, such as green tea wraps and silk treatments, as part of holistic journeys that combine saunas, steam rooms, and heated pools.

All-in-one wellness centres

An all-in-one massage centre in Shenzhen is probably one of the most characteristic experiences in the city. These are multifunctional spaces open 24 hours a day where you can spend several hours between relaxation areas, restaurants, cinema rooms, e-sports rooms, swimming pools, rest zones, and wellness services. Recommended for those who want to try the best massages in Shenzhen in a futuristic and surprising environment.

💡 Massage notice: The massages available at massage centres are primarily for relaxation and relief from fatigue, and do not constitute medical treatments. In the event of muscular or joint problems, we recommend consulting qualified healthcare facilities, such as rehabilitation or traditional medicine departments, where a specialist doctor can provide a diagnosis and recommend the most appropriate treatment.

💰 Shenzhen Massage Prices

Massage prices in Shenzhen vary enormously based on the district, services included, and time of day. In a typical Shenzhen massage centre, night-time or weekend rates tend to increase. For example, during major international trade fairs, such as the China Hi-Tech Fair, massage prices in Shenzhen can rise significantly due to high demand.

💡 Useful tips: Massage prices in Shenzhen are generally more affordable from Monday to Thursday compared to the weekend. Many centres offer packages that include saunas, relaxation areas, drinks, and multiple treatments at a lower cost than purchasing individual services. In any case, checking massage prices in Shenzhen in advance will help you choose the option that best suits your budget. Finally, remember that massage prices in Shenzhen are generally fixed, and haggling is not a common practice in this sector.

We had a two-bedroom suite, very comfortable. The beds were large and quite spacious. There was a balcony with a table and chairs. The weather wasn't perfect for swimming, but we walked along the beach, which is nearby. They replenished the water daily, changed the towels, and cleaned the room. We thought we needed hooks for coats and bags in the hallway, and at least a small table in the room for a computer or for the family to have tea. Nearby there's a pizzeria, a fruit market, and an ancient fortress with beautiful streets, goods, and food. Overall, we loved everything, thank you!

Shenzhen Nanao | Stay in a French Garden and Watch the Sea 🌅 Mello is absolutely stunning! Found a French Riviera-inspired B&B in Shenzhen 🏡 Mello truly has romance etched into its soul. White walls + French courtyard + endless sea views – every shot looks like it's straight out of a movie 🎬. The housekeeper even provided thoughtful sleep eye masks 💤. Open the window to a sunset over the orange sea 🌇. Sunlight streams into the room, making even the air feel gentle. The courtyard is fragrant with lemon trees and passion fruit, and you can spend an entire afternoon on the swing. A cocktail and a tipsy view of the sea are so therapeutic. Just a few minutes' walk to the beach 🏖️. It's uncrowded with clear water, super comfortable for walking on the sand and watching the waves. The room is clean and comfortable, and the bedding is so soft you won't want to get up ✨. 📍 Mello B&B (Jidiaosha Store) No. 81 Dongshan Village, Dongshan Community, Nanao, Longgang, Shenzhen #ShenzhenB&B #ShenzhenSeasideB&B #NanaoB&B #FrenchStyleB&B #ShenzhenWeekendGetaway #ShenzhenExplore #SeasideResort #HealingB&B

The air is fresh, it's wonderfully quiet, and it's so relaxing to be away from the city hustle. The room was clean and tidy, decorated warmly and elegantly, and the bedding was super comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep. The host was very warm, easygoing, and provided thoughtful, meticulous service with great attention to detail. The surrounding scenery is absolutely breathtaking, perfect for photos. Dining and staying here were both very pleasant, and it offers excellent value for money. I'll definitely come back for my next vacation and highly recommend it to everyone!

Two adults and one child. The room size was very satisfactory, and we could even make tea. The environment was clean, new, and quiet. There was a complimentary sweet soup in the evening and breakfast in the morning. They paid attention to details, with an online concierge before and after check-in. We had a very comfortable stay. We'd definitely prefer this type of accommodation for future visits.

Stayed at the Crowne Plaza Futian for a good stay. Before arriving, I communicated with Joy online about the check-in process. She managed to get us a room upgrade during check-in, which was a pleasant surprise. The upgraded room was more spacious than the standard room; we could easily spread out our two suitcases and personal belongings without feeling cramped. The room was also very clean, with no visible dust or stains. The hotel is located in Futian, surrounded by many good restaurants, making it convenient for walks and shopping after dinner. Access to the metro is also close by. The room was quiet once the windows were closed, allowing for a restful sleep after a day out. The water pressure in the bathroom was stable, and all the in-room amenities worked perfectly. Overall, it was a very good stay.

The location is extremely convenient. It's right at Exit A of the Convention & Exhibition Centre Station. There's an elevator directly to the hotel inside the 2-D Town shopping mall. The hotel is also right next to Huangting Plaza and Link Central City shopping mall, which is very convenient. Comfortable Accommodation The room space is quite large, so a family of three didn't feel cramped. Although the hotel has been open for a while, the facilities are well-maintained. Delicious Food The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of options, including Chinese, Western, and Japanese dishes, catering to different tastes. Well-Equipped Fitness Facilities The fitness center is outsourced, but it still provides service outside of office hours. Hotel staff can open the door for access, offering 24-hour fitness service.

The rooms are clean and tidy, with complete bathroom facilities and stable internet. Some room types even offer river views. The soundproofing is good, ensuring a peaceful rest. Check-in at the front desk was efficient, and the service attitude was attentive. The breakfast buffet offers a rich variety of options, a good mix of Western and Chinese cuisine, including freshly made Cantonese dim sum like Chee Cheong Fun and Koay Teow. The food quality is consistently good, and the dining environment is comfortable. Service: Special thanks to Bella and her team! The Ritz's service attitude was satisfying, but due to objective renovation issues, construction noise could be heard on every floor (starting at 8:30 AM, even on weekends). Bella was very considerate in trying to resolve the issue, and I'm very grateful. I believe this also perfectly embodies the Ritz's 'Ladies and Gentlemen serving Ladies and Gentlemen' philosophy. Facilities: The current Ritz-Carlton Shenzhen is definitely not in its best state. Even in the newly renovated rooms (renovation completed six months ago), there was still a faint smell of renovation. Running an air purifier made it tolerable. The new rooms are indeed spacious and well-maintained, with very new facilities. Pool: It's very small and the water is extremely shallow. Many people just walk across the pool, and there's no staff to stop them. The 'fire cloud' evening view is beautiful, but I wouldn't recommend it for serious swimmers. If you're just looking for a photo op, it's fine. Cigar Bar: The staff were very patient, but the quality of the cigars varied, and the cocktails were just average. Overall, as a first-time guest at the Ritz-Carlton Shenzhen, I found their service to be the best among hotels in the Futian district. However, objectively speaking, the renovation definitely detracted a few points from their 100-point service. I look forward to a better experience on my next stay at the Ritz! 🥂

I stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel Shenzhen for a temporary business trip, and the attention to detail in their service left a lasting impression. Upon arriving at the hotel entrance, Max, the manager who assisted me with my previous check-in, immediately recognized me and provided exceptional service. His incredible memory for guests truly showcases the high-caliber service at luxury hotels. The guest room had an open layout, offering a nearly perfect stay and rest experience. The sofa lounge area, workspace, and sleeping area were clearly separated, creating a smooth flow that's ideal for business travelers. The bathroom featured a bathtub and a smart toilet, and all facilities were well-maintained, making for a comfortable stay during my business trip. Breakfast was at the FOO restaurant, which boasts a timeless 'old money' design that has stood the test of time. My favorite part was the seating experience; there were numerous semi-private 'booth' style seats that offered great comfort and allowed for an undisturbed dining experience. The breakfast selection was impressive, featuring everything from Kashi yogurt, a wide variety of bread options, freshly made wontons, to Chinese brewed flower teas. A Memorable Stay at The St. Regis Shenzhen During a short family break in Shenzhen, I was impressed by the signature Champagne Sabering Ceremony held every evening at 6:30pm. As I had not made a prior reservation, I thought I would miss the experience. But Kimi Chen noticed my disappointment, and together with Chief Floor Butler Alice Chen, somehow managed to arrange for me to experience it on my second evening. It was a thoughtful gesture and a beautiful memory that will stay with me for a long time. My appreciation also goes to the entire St. Regis Shenzhen team. The room was exceptionally clean and well maintained, while breakfast offered an impressive selection of both Western and Asian cuisine. The room was spacious with a balcony overlooking the golf course, and the large bathtub on the balcony was great for a soak in the evening. However, I didn't dare use it during the day due to a lack of privacy. Golf hotels generally tend to be less crowded, quiet, and safe, guaranteeing good room and dining quality. On the downside, the complimentary snacks in the minibar seemed unhealthy. Also, the 100 RMB dining voucher required a minimum spend of 200 RMB, which wasn't ideal; it would have been better not to offer it at all. Perhaps because the air conditioning in the room and throughout the hotel was set quite high, there was a damp smell when I first entered the room, and the air purifier wasn't working. In the morning, since the room was above the restaurant, I could actually smell faint cooking odors on the balcony, instead of the natural scent of the grass, which was a bit disappointing. Sometimes, the noise from the lawnmowers was quite loud. The hotel lobby bar had some real books for quiet reading, which was a nice touch. Across from the hotel is Zhangbei Park, which is worth a visit. The hotel is also very close to the Oncology Hospital, Dayun Metro Station, and Sam's Club.

Room: Excellent! 👍 The room was spacious and bright, and the high-floor view was fantastic. It was so relaxing to sit inside and watch the sea. The twin beds were easy to push together, making it very family-friendly for those with kids. Location: Unbeatable! ❤️ Our main goal this Dragon Boat Festival was to explore the Yantian coastline. The hotel is super close to the subway, making Dameisha, Xiaomeisha, and Xichong all easily accessible by metro. It was also convenient to walk to Yating Bay to catch the Haishan Line to Enshang Wetland Park. We had a very fulfilling three-day holiday. Facilities: The hotel isn't specifically geared towards families, so we only tried the pool, which was good. However, with One City Mall right downstairs, you have everything you need, which is incredibly convenient. The hotel environment is quite good. However, the breakfast needs significant improvement; it should offer more variety. I've stayed at many Hilton Garden Inn hotels, and their breakfasts are usually quite lavish. The breakfast here wasn't very diverse this time. I hope they can improve it.

The surrounding transportation is excellent, making it easy to catch a taxi or bus. The room temperature was consistently comfortable, and the bathroom had good water pressure. All facilities were functioning well, and it offered decent value for money. The outdoor swimming pool is fantastic in the summer.

✈️ Shenzhen Airport Massage: 3 Best Places to Go

Long layovers don't have to be exhausting. Finding hotel massages in Shenzhen near the airport is incredibly easy, thanks to hotel facilities designed to optimise transit times.

Hyatt Regency Shenzhen Airport

Directly connected to Terminal 3 via a covered walkway, the Hyatt Regency Shenzhen Airport hotel houses an excellent spa designed for travellers in transit. Here, you can choose from traditional Chinese massages, essential oil therapies, and deep tissue treatments aimed at relieving muscle tension accumulated during long flights. The staff speak English, and the spa is also accessible to non-hotel guests by appointment.

DoubleTree by Hilton Shenzhen Airport

Located just minutes from the airport, with a free shuttle service available, the DoubleTree by Hilton Shenzhen Airport is a hotel with massages in Shenzhen that features a full spa with a sauna, Turkish bath, and massages on request. Treatments range from Swedish massage to traditional Chinese Tui Na. Perfect for those with a few hours' layover who want to recharge before setting off again.

Courtyard by Marriott Shenzhen Airport

Another excellent option for those looking for a hotel with massages in Shenzhen near the terminals is the Courtyard by Marriott Shenzhen Airport. The property offers relaxing massages, a rejuvenating foot massage in Shenzhen, and personalised body treatments, all in a modern and quiet environment. The convenience of being just minutes from the airport and the free shuttle service make it ideal for medium-to-long layovers.
💡 Tip for transit passengers: If you have a long layover (at least 8 hours) and want to reach the city centre, Metro Line 11 is the fastest way. Before leaving the terminals, however, always carefully calculate the travel time for the round trip and the time needed for airport security checks.
