Shenzhen Massage Guide: Types, Prices & Where to Go

When looking for massages in Shenzhen, it is easy to feel disoriented between traditional rituals and hyper-modern experiences. With over eighteen million inhabitants, this metropolis is not only the capital of Chinese innovation but also one of the main hubs for urban wellness. Choosing a massage centre in Shenzhen means treating yourself to a unique experience, ranging from ancient treatments to multimedia experiences in futuristic oases of relaxation. This Trip.com guide helps you compare prices and facilities to make an informed choice about the best massages in Shenzhen.

💖 Best Massages in Shenzhen: Types & Treatments

In Shenzhen, skyscrapers and futuristic spas coexist with traditional establishments and all-in-one wellness centres designed to rejuvenate body and mind. Identifying the ideal massage centre in Shenzhen depends mainly on your physical needs, the time you have available, and the level of service you desire.

Tui Na: the traditional Chinese massage

Among the most requested massages in Shenzhen is Tui Na, one of the oldest techniques in traditional Chinese medicine. It is ideal for those suffering from so-called "tech-neck", the neck and shoulder tension typical of those who spend many hours at a computer. In this case, therapists use deep acupressure and targeted manipulation along the energy meridians to unlock posture and relax contracted muscles.

Foot reflexology and foot massage

Trying a foot massage in Shenzhen means getting closer to one of the most deeply rooted practices in Chinese wellness culture. Foot reflexology, known as Zúliáo, is based on the stimulation of specific points on the foot which, according to traditional medicine, are connected to the body's various organs. Those who book a foot massage in Shenzhen can often also enjoy a “cinema-style” experience during the treatment, which means immersive entertainment with large reclining armchairs and private giant screens for watching films, TV series, or sporting events.

Full body massage

A full-body massage in Shenzhen is ideal for those landing after a long flight or who have accumulated fatigue between meetings and trade fairs. It generally lasts between 60 and 90 minutes and combines relaxing and decontracting techniques to release tension in the body. In a city that never sleeps, the full-body massage in Shenzhen has become an ally against jet lag and fatigue, improving circulation and rejuvenating the body.

Hot Stone massage

It combines therapeutic heat with mineral energy. It uses heated volcanic stones or, in higher-end spas, jade stones, a precious material rooted in Chinese tradition. The heat is released gradually onto the main muscle groups, promoting relaxation and easing deeper tension.

Couples' massage

An increasing number of spa and massage centres in Shenzhen offer double cabins dedicated to couples' treatments, with synchronised journeys, aromatherapy and personalised rituals. This option is highly sought after by both honeymooners and couples from Hong Kong who choose a massage centre in Shenzhen to spend a weekend dedicated to well-being.

Chair massage

An express massage, it lasts from 15 to 30 minutes and is performed on special ergonomic chairs. It is particularly suitable for quickly relieving tension in the neck, shoulders, and lower back. Those looking for a quick treatment in Shenzhen will find the "chair massage" very common in shopping centres, large wellness complexes, and the business areas of Nanshan, where professionals and office workers can enjoy a short, rejuvenating break without interrupting their working day too much.

Spas and wellness journeys in hotels

Those seeking absolute luxury can take refuge in the oases of five-star hotels. Choosing a massage spa in Shenzhen within these establishments means indulging in personalised rituals, such as green tea wraps and silk treatments, as part of holistic journeys that combine saunas, steam rooms, and heated pools.

All-in-one wellness centres

An all-in-one massage centre in Shenzhen is probably one of the most characteristic experiences in the city. These are multifunctional spaces open 24 hours a day where you can spend several hours between relaxation areas, restaurants, cinema rooms, e-sports rooms, swimming pools, rest zones, and wellness services. Recommended for those who want to try the best massages in Shenzhen in a futuristic and surprising environment.

💡 Massage notice: The massages available at massage centres are primarily for relaxation and relief from fatigue, and do not constitute medical treatments. In the event of muscular or joint problems, we recommend consulting qualified healthcare facilities, such as rehabilitation or traditional medicine departments, where a specialist doctor can provide a diagnosis and recommend the most appropriate treatment.

💰 Shenzhen Massage Prices

Massage prices in Shenzhen vary enormously based on the district, services included, and time of day. In a typical Shenzhen massage centre, night-time or weekend rates tend to increase. For example, during major international trade fairs, such as the China Hi-Tech Fair, massage prices in Shenzhen can rise significantly due to high demand.

💡 Useful tips: Massage prices in Shenzhen are generally more affordable from Monday to Thursday compared to the weekend. Many centres offer packages that include saunas, relaxation areas, drinks, and multiple treatments at a lower cost than purchasing individual services. In any case, checking massage prices in Shenzhen in advance will help you choose the option that best suits your budget. Finally, remember that massage prices in Shenzhen are generally fixed, and haggling is not a common practice in this sector.

We had a two-bedroom suite, very comfortable. The beds were large and quite spacious. There was a balcony with a table and chairs. The weather wasn't perfect for swimming, but we walked along the beach, which is nearby. They replenished the water daily, changed the towels, and cleaned the room. We thought we needed hooks for coats and bags in the hallway, and at least a small table in the room for a computer or for the family to have tea. Nearby there's a pizzeria, a fruit market, and an ancient fortress with beautiful streets, goods, and food. Overall, we loved everything, thank you!

Although Meisu is a little distance from the subway station, there are beaches/snack stalls along the way, so it's okay. The estate itself feels old, and the swimming pool is deserted, but once you enter the house, you’re in another world; The cleanliness is better than expected, the bed sheets, towels, quilts, sofa and bathtub are also clean and tidy; Customer service contacted us via WeChat, and the Wifi, door password, and how to get to Meisu were all clear. Even nearby attractions are introduced one by one. Although the response is not immediate, you don’t have to wait too long; The facilities are very complete. The bathroom supplies are all there. The refrigerator can freeze (which is good for a normal hotel). There is a giant screen with movies to watch, but VIPs can't watch them. However, you can use Air View, and you can prepare your own movies if necessary. There are two sets of kimonos for everyone to take photos, and the surfaces are very clean. There are also sufficient charging stations in the room, and a charging cable is provided. The bathtub is on the terrace, with disposable bath bags provided. Draw the blinds at night, turn off the terrace lights, and people downstairs won't see you when you stand up. Japanese style, comfortable and beautiful

Shenzhen Nanao | Stay in a French Garden and Watch the Sea 🌅 Mello is absolutely stunning! Found a French Riviera-inspired B&B in Shenzhen 🏡 Mello truly has romance etched into its soul. White walls + French courtyard + endless sea views – every shot looks like it's straight out of a movie 🎬. The housekeeper even provided thoughtful sleep eye masks 💤. Open the window to a sunset over the orange sea 🌇. Sunlight streams into the room, making even the air feel gentle. The courtyard is fragrant with lemon trees and passion fruit, and you can spend an entire afternoon on the swing. A cocktail and a tipsy view of the sea are so therapeutic. Just a few minutes' walk to the beach 🏖️. It's uncrowded with clear water, super comfortable for walking on the sand and watching the waves. The room is clean and comfortable, and the bedding is so soft you won't want to get up ✨. 📍 Mello B&B (Jidiaosha Store) No. 81 Dongshan Village, Dongshan Community, Nanao, Longgang, Shenzhen #ShenzhenB&B #ShenzhenSeasideB&B #NanaoB&B #FrenchStyleB&B #ShenzhenWeekendGetaway #ShenzhenExplore #SeasideResort #HealingB&B

The air is fresh, it's wonderfully quiet, and it's so relaxing to be away from the city hustle. The room was clean and tidy, decorated warmly and elegantly, and the bedding was super comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep. The host was very warm, easygoing, and provided thoughtful, meticulous service with great attention to detail. The surrounding scenery is absolutely breathtaking, perfect for photos. Dining and staying here were both very pleasant, and it offers excellent value for money. I'll definitely come back for my next vacation and highly recommend it to everyone!

Two adults and one child. The room size was very satisfactory, and we could even make tea. The environment was clean, new, and quiet. There was a complimentary sweet soup in the evening and breakfast in the morning. They paid attention to details, with an online concierge before and after check-in. We had a very comfortable stay. We'd definitely prefer this type of accommodation for future visits.

Staying at the Crowne Plaza was a generally solid and practical experience. Joy handled the check-in process efficiently and was straightforward to communicate with if any issues arose. The hotel's location is excellent, not far from the subway and large shopping malls, making it convenient for business, dining, and shopping without traveling far, saving a good amount on transportation costs. The room hygiene was quite well done; the bedding was clean and tidy, the bathroom had no lingering water stains or odors, and the desk and floor were clean, making for a reassuring stay. All in-room facilities were in normal working order, including lights, bathroom fixtures, and charging ports. Public areas were also well-maintained, indicating consistent upkeep. The hotel was mostly quiet throughout the day; even with the bustling commercial area nearby, closing the door provided a good resting environment. The front desk and other staff were responsive to requests and never dismissive. While there aren't any overly fancy services, the hotel largely delivers on expectations, making it a well-balanced choice for business trips or short getaways.

It's directly connected to the Convention & Exhibition Center via subway, making getting around super convenient. The rooms are spacious and spotless, the bedding is soft and comfortable, and the soundproofing is excellent. Check-in at the front desk was efficient, and the staff were all gentle and attentive. I chose this hotel because I was going to Hong Kong 🇭🇰, and it was so convenient! It's just a 100-meter walk to Futian Railway Station, and the subway is also easily accessible. My child really wanted to take the subway, so we went to Hong Kong. The two round trips were really unpleasant. This place is part of China, yet you have to put up with the attitudes of the people there; they look so impatient, as if we mainlanders owe them something. Without our mainland fish, how would your economy grow? I'll never go there again. Shenzhen is much better, with great food and a relaxed atmosphere. The hotel was good too 👍. Seeing Hong Kong people coming to Shenzhen to spend money, it makes you realize how much more affordable the mainland is. A bowl of noodles in Hong Kong costs over a hundred, and everything is expensive. I'll definitely come back to Shenzhen for food, drinks, and fun. Happy! There were no crowds at Disneyland during the summer vacation 🤗, and there will be fewer and fewer people in the future. Welcome to Shanghai Disneyland, where you don't have to deal with anyone's bad attitude; just let loose and have fun!

I'd especially like to thank Jennifer for her patient assistance throughout, her gentle and considerate demeanor, and for proactively helping me coordinate various matters – she's very responsible. Overall, the positive aspects far outweighed any negatives; the hotel's emergency service and staff professionalism are commendable. It's been a while since I brought my family to stay at the Four Seasons Shenzhen. On the day of check-in, Max contacted me and enthusiastically arranged for us to check in directly at the Executive Lounge on the 29th floor, which felt very welcoming! He also helped upgrade us to a suite on the 30th floor and thoughtfully arranged a small bed and a little tent for the child. Previously, he made a personalized key card for me, which I still carry. This time, he made a cute bear-themed key card for my child with her name printed on it, and she absolutely loved it! I've also stayed at the Four Seasons in Guangzhou, Tianjin, and Beijing before, and they were all excellent! But I feel a special connection to the Four Seasons Shenzhen; every time I come back, it feels like returning home. Perhaps this is the true essence of a top-tier hotel. The Executive Lounge has seen some changes; breakfast is now served as a set menu, which is quite good. They prepare just enough portions for the number of guests, which is quite eco-friendly. I feel the entire hotel has a very strong environmental consciousness, including the packaging of toothpaste and the wooden toothbrushes, etc. APEC Shenzhen is coming up soon, and the Four Seasons should be the official hotel, meeting very international standards. The Bose sound system in the room is also a nice touch. The Executive Lounge experience was great this time; the supervisor, Cecilie, was very warm, and Chadi even came over personally to greet my family during dinner, which was a pleasant surprise. Oh, and the outdoor pool was open in the summer with a perfect water temperature. It was a wonderful experience, and I look forward to staying again!

This was my first stay at the Shenzhen Marriott Hotel, and honestly, it was a mixed bag – some good, some not so good. The staff at the front desk and in the restaurant were excellent, very friendly and helpful. However, the staff at the entrance and the bellhops were quite disappointing. They weren't proactive in assisting guests, and for a hotel, the first impression often comes from the entrance staff. This really detracted from my overall experience. The front desk staff were polite and said everything was fine, but the baggage handlers were truly awful. On the positive side, the dim sum at the restaurant was exceptional. So, if I ever consider staying here again, I'll definitely have to think long and hard about it. I honestly don't understand how a five-star hotel can have such a stark difference in service quality. For a first-time guest at the Marriott Shenzhen, it was certainly a memorable experience, but not entirely for the right reasons.

Facilities: The room was spacious enough with a direct sea view. As a Diamond member, I got an upgrade to a premium sea view room on the 10th floor. Below was the yacht club's pier, with the InterContinental to the left and Dameisha Beach to the right. I used points and got it for 600 a night, including breakfast for two. We also got to use the InterContinental's beach, loungers, and other facilities, but saved a whopping 1200 a night compared to staying at the InterContinental – what a steal! It's so much better than hotels in Hong Kong! Environment: Downstairs, there's Outlets No. 8 and a drone delivery locker, which was cool to try out. Plus, there are plenty of dining options nearby, very convenient. Hygiene: Clean. Service: Excellent. We arrived early on a Monday afternoon and were able to check in ahead of time. There were so many activities – sushi making, dancing, pool parties – the kids couldn't keep up, so they just went to the beach for a bit. Note: There's no self-service laundry room; you can only hand wash and air dry clothes on the balcony. I wouldn't recommend booking this place in winter due to the laundry inconvenience.

Overall, my stay was very satisfying. While the facilities, compared to many top-tier luxury hotels, weren't breathtaking, they were perfectly adequate. Everything you'd expect was there, and the British style was very elegant, reminding me of my time living in the UK. The cleanliness was truly commendable; every corner was spotless. The ambiance was also very pleasant and comfortable. I especially want to praise the Executive Lounge team – Via, Yulia, Emily, and David – for their warm and attentive service. The room is quite spacious, and the bedding is excellent. The sheets and pillows are very comfortable, so I slept exceptionally well. Getting a good night's sleep in a hotel is very important, and this is high praise indeed. The hotel's decor is stylish, making you feel relaxed the moment you walk in. Breakfast deserves a special mention; the variety is rich, and the taste is unparalleled. The Cantonese breakfast was delicious, and the egg rolls and eggs Benedict were also very good. The only downside is that if you go late for breakfast, you might have to queue, but there are plenty of seats, so even if there's a line, it moves quickly. The coffee and tea at breakfast are also excellent. Freya, Winky, and Monuca at the front desk are very thoughtful. They genuinely care if you're enjoying your stay and promptly address any issues that arise during check-in. The front desk for check-in is on the 33rd floor with a great view. The executive lounge is a nice place to relax and unwind. Afternoon tea consists of two types of cake and some beverages. Dinner is relatively simple but has everything you need, including a noodle bar, which shows a good effort. Overall, the stay was very comfortable, and I would choose this hotel again if I return. However, there are three minor drawbacks I must mention: 1. One side of the hotel faces a large construction site, so the view isn't great. There's not much the hotel can do about this, as it's already well-maintained, but the surrounding environment does detract a bit. Perhaps future stays could compensate for this view deficit. 2. Light leaks from one side of the curtains, which can slightly affect sleep. 3. For such a high-end hotel, the complimentary water was Nongfu Spring with a red cap. While Nongfu Spring is good, I feel an upgrade to the water would be more fitting. Hygene: The cleaning was very detailed and thorough. The cleaning staff were all smiles and greeted me warmly, which put me in a good mood. Service: Whether it was the concierge on the first floor or the staff in the executive lounge/breakfast restaurant, everyone was incredibly friendly and made me feel very comfortable.

The room was spacious with a balcony overlooking the golf course, and the large bathtub on the balcony was great for a soak in the evening. However, I didn't dare use it during the day due to a lack of privacy. Golf hotels generally tend to be less crowded, quiet, and safe, guaranteeing good room and dining quality. On the downside, the complimentary snacks in the minibar seemed unhealthy. Also, the 100 RMB dining voucher required a minimum spend of 200 RMB, which wasn't ideal; it would have been better not to offer it at all. Perhaps because the air conditioning in the room and throughout the hotel was set quite high, there was a damp smell when I first entered the room, and the air purifier wasn't working. In the morning, since the room was above the restaurant, I could actually smell faint cooking odors on the balcony, instead of the natural scent of the grass, which was a bit disappointing. Sometimes, the noise from the lawnmowers was quite loud. The hotel lobby bar had some real books for quiet reading, which was a nice touch. Across from the hotel is Zhangbei Park, which is worth a visit. The hotel is also very close to the Oncology Hospital, Dayun Metro Station, and Sam's Club.

The location of the hotel is just perfect! 2 minutes of a walking distance to the Sea World. The room was clean. And the laundry service was available as well. Personally, I used the iron and the ironing board. But there were some disappointing facts about the shower cabin. The water pours and leaks out of the cabin which makes the floor so wet, so no towels can help, and I had to collect it with my slippers apparently. And there was shampoo in the shampoo and conditioner containers both which means I just washed my head twice. I’d recommend the hotel stuff mind these details. But, nevertheless, thanks my stay there!

Room: Excellent! 👍 The room was spacious and bright, and the high-floor view was fantastic. It was so relaxing to sit inside and watch the sea. The twin beds were easy to push together, making it very family-friendly for those with kids. Location: Unbeatable! ❤️ Our main goal this Dragon Boat Festival was to explore the Yantian coastline. The hotel is super close to the subway, making Dameisha, Xiaomeisha, and Xichong all easily accessible by metro. It was also convenient to walk to Yating Bay to catch the Haishan Line to Enshang Wetland Park. We had a very fulfilling three-day holiday. Facilities: The hotel isn't specifically geared towards families, so we only tried the pool, which was good. However, with One City Mall right downstairs, you have everything you need, which is incredibly convenient. Breakfast: Very satisfied! 😘 Everything was great, except for a bit of a wait during peak hours. They had freshly made wontons and waffles, as well as fresh squeezed juice. All the breads were delicious. Overall, highly recommended! ~

Huaqiangbei Area Shenzhen|3.08km from city centre
My two-day, one-night stay at the Quchuang Hotel (Futian Huaqiangbei Metro Station Branch) was incredibly comfortable, far exceeding my expectations. I highly recommend it. The hotel boasts an excellent location, close to Huaqiangbei Metro Station. The bustling commercial district is within walking distance, offering a wide array of dining options and shops, making commutes and shopping exceptionally convenient. It's perfectly suited for both leisure travelers and business guests on short stays. The front desk staff were professional and courteous, handling both check-in and check-out processes efficiently and smoothly. Their service was attentive and gentle, and they proactively helped with travel inquiries, making me feel truly valued. The guest room was meticulously cleaned, with a tidy and spotless environment. The bedding was changed promptly and was free of any unpleasant odors. The room layout was well-designed, with good natural light and ventilation. The bathroom featured a wet/dry separation, and the water pressure was stable. All daily facilities were well-maintained, and the soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a quiet environment at night for a restful and relaxing sleep. The common areas were neat and orderly, and the rooftop even offered complimentary laundry facilities, demonstrating thoughtful attention to detail. Considering its prime location in the bustling Futian area, the hotel's pricing is very reasonable, and both its facilities and service level offer exceptional value for money. This brief stay was a fantastic experience. I will definitely prioritize choosing this hotel again on future visits to the Huaqiangbei area in Shenzhen, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to other travelers.
