YayayouwanjiWe visited the newly opened International Art Museum in Guangming this time, and the Grand Mercure Hotel Guangming that we booked exceeded our expectations! The hotel is brand new and very clean.
The location is absolutely unbeatable. It's just a two to three-minute walk from Fenghuangcheng Station on Metro Line 6/13. Plus, it's directly connected to two large shopping malls downstairs – Wanda Plaza and Blue Whale World – making dining incredibly convenient.
We originally wanted to book the Forest Treehouse Family Room but it was fully booked. However, our child absolutely loved the Penguin Igloo Family Room we ended up getting. The room has a cute Antarctic igloo theme with penguin elements covering the walls. It comes with a dedicated children's bed and igloo play area, a complete set of kids' toiletries, a mini toilet step stool, and children's bathrobes and slippers – the details are incredibly thoughtful. The space is spacious with fantastic natural light, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offer expansive views. The bathroom, with its separate wet and dry areas, is huge and includes a large bathtub. They even provided complimentary mini-bar drinks, which was a very nice touch!
Check-in was also very quick, and they were responsive to our needs. We'll definitely be staying here again on our next visit to Guangming!

DongdongguangOur overall stay was outstanding. Every staff member provided excellent service, and the signature 24-hour butler was always available, attentive, and thoughtful, taking care of every detail. The bedding was just right – neither too soft nor too firm – making for a very comfortable sleep. Breakfast was served high up with an amazing view, though the food itself was quite ordinary. Minor issues included a slight cleanliness problem with the bathtub (but still usable) and the room's air conditioning being a bit noisy and tricky to adjust. Despite these small flaws, the positives far outweighed them, and we would definitely come back.

This hotel has become my go-to place; it's always my top choice whenever I'm on a business trip or vacation! Jennifer is always warm and friendly, and she consistently remembers my preferences, which is a truly thoughtful touch. The rooms are clean and tidy, the bedding is soft and ensures a good night's sleep, and the public areas are spotless. The facilities are comprehensive, and the location is convenient, offering excellent value for money. Every stay feels like coming home, and I'll keep coming back. Highly recommended for frequent travelers!

Anonymous UserOverall, a 7/10. If you're vacationing on Dapeng Peninsula, The Hidden Resort (Shanya Bishu) is still the best option right now.
However, there are a few minor downsides:
The room was a partial sea view room, which didn't match the official photos. The official pictures show the end unit, which is actually sold as a mountain view room.
A heads-up: the balcony railing didn't seem to be glass, but rather acrylic, and it wasn't securely fixed on both sides. You could wobble it easily with two fingers. It would be quite dangerous to lean or rest on it. I recommend the resort checks and replaces it.
The privacy of some of the adjacent units is quite poor; you can see into each other's balconies and side windows. The soundproofing in the rooms isn't great either; you can hear loud conversations from neighboring rooms.
The bathroom design has a flaw: the floor isn't sloped or recessed, so shower water spills out of the bathroom door.
They provided a new Dyson hairdryer, but did they consider the new Dyson plug? The outlet is positioned too low, and the plug is too big to insert directly. If you try to plug it in upside down, it won't stay put and will fall out. I suggest the relevant person in charge tries it out themselves.

The hotel's location is excellent, right next to UpperHills and Bijia Mountain Park. The room size is decent, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offer great views. Breakfast variety is acceptable, with most essentials covered. Overall, the hotel service is quite good, but the breakfast restaurant service is very average. The biggest rip-off, though, is the hotel's spa. It's overpriced and the massage technique is terrible. I'd say it's the worst spa experience I've had at a five-star hotel! I felt like I was completely ripped off! A total waste of time, I hope everyone avoids it.

GrandoI booked a two-night stay at the 金茂JW Marriott from July 15th to 17th. I am very grateful to the Guest Relations Executive, Xana (Jasmine), for her assistance with a room upgrade. The TV in our originally assigned room had no signal, and even after the engineers tried to fix it, the connection remained unstable. The engineers did notify the front desk on our behalf, and thanks to the prompt help from Xana and the front desk staff, we were immediately moved to another room. Xana even went out of her way to help us move our luggage. We also troubled Xana and another Guest Relations Executive to help deliver our medication to our room. Thank you, Xana, for your thoughtful service and care!
I would also like to thank the housekeeping lady for keeping the room impeccably clean and well-organized.
As for breakfast, true to the JW Marriott style, there was an excellent variety of food choices. However, I was a bit disappointed that the congee and oatmeal were not hot this time. What deserves praise, though, is that all the staff at the breakfast cafe were incredibly friendly and provided wonderful service. They all had smiles on their faces, which put us in a great mood while enjoying our morning meal.
The 金茂 JW Marriott Hotel in Shenzhen has a very convenient location and comfortable rooms. Highly recommend!
We will definitely come back next time.

Guest UserThis city hotel, with its views of the Shenzhen skyline from every angle, is my top pick for city views. The location, hotel amenities, surrounding facilities, and guest services are all exceptional.
Many online reviews mention that the hotel is a bit old and the facilities are dated, but after staying there, I disagree. When the hotel first opened, it was very well-equipped, from the bathrooms to the decor, and even had iPads, which are usually only found at The Peninsula, making it quite convenient. If you're concerned about outdated hardware, you can opt for a suite or higher-category room, as it seems these have all been updated.
I have two particularly strong impressions:
1) Due to a minor operational error by the hotel, I contacted the platform, and they connected me with the duty manager. The duty manager on the day of my check-in was very friendly, highly professional, and also quite personable and sincere. This was one of the best duty managers I've encountered at a St. Regis property.
2) When checking out, I left my luggage in the room, intending to have the concierge store it. However, after exchanging currency, I found it inconvenient to carry the cash and wanted to retrieve my wallet from my bag. The two concierges on the 1st floor responded quickly and were very professional.
3) When leaving the hotel and hailing a taxi, the driver didn't stop right at the entrance. The concierge helped find the car and opened the door for me. Highly commendable!
Finally, a big thank you to:
Duty Manager (DEPP YANG)
Concierge (SUNNY QIN, GAMELLIA GUO)

A special shout-out to our housekeeper, Cassie, whose professionalism was outstanding! She proactively reached out regarding our check-in, providing clear instructions and guiding us through the process upon arrival. Any last-minute requests were handled promptly and efficiently. She was incredibly kind, thoughtful, and her service was meticulous. With Cassie taking care of everything, we didn't have to worry about a thing during our vacation. The experience was excellent, highly recommended!

My kid's on vacation, so I thought I'd give them a change of scenery for their homework, and I get a change of pace too! I debated booking this hotel for ages. It felt like it had been around forever, and I was worried the facilities and hardware might be outdated. In the end, poverty won out, and I booked it anyway (sorry, sorry, sorry, hahaha, saying it three times so no hard feelings!).
I booked a Westin Suite, and the room was huge with a really smart layout. Plus, with the heavy rain in Shenzhen lately, wow! The vibe was absolutely incredible!
This room has a dining table, a workspace, and a seating area – the separate zones are so well-designed, seriously! And two bathrooms! Next time, I might book two rooms, it felt like there might be a connecting door next to us.
The view, honestly, was amazing. The lights at Window of the World at night were pretty good too!
The bed and pillows were just right, very comfortable. I'd definitely come back again.
Another super convenient thing is that the hotel connects directly to the mall, as shown in picture 10. For a rainy day, this hotel is an absolute lifesaver!
